Easy to use, just make sure you have cleaned the patio thoroughly before and then spread it on with a roller for best results. Leaves a slight shine but nothing significant.
Once on it makes sweeping up really easy and water just pools off.
I used on my sandstone patio and applied with a long handled roller. It took a while as big patio but it works brilliantly and so far is doing what it says on the pack.
It goes a long way which surprised me as when I previously treated the deck with preservative on deck of same dimensions it used 3 times as much.
Would recommend
I have a large area of block paving to the front and back of my property. Recently had it jet blasted to clean away years of moss and general grime. After re-sanding decided to finish off with a coat of seal. Choose Sika water base as probably more environmentally friendly. I have applied this with a low pressure garden spray as a fine mist. Easy to apply in this way and have settled for 2 coats. Looks OK and hopefully will do what it says on the can!
The sealant went on easily and seems to be doing the job, I only applied it a few days ago.
It advises 2 coats on stone, I’ve applied 3 coats as the stone slabs havent been sealed for a few years.
After rain the water is pooling on the surface so it clearly seels the surface.
Applied with a low pressure sprayer and diluted slightly with water to do this.
Applied several coats and really happy with the results. Re sanded patio and the sand has all held in place. Way better than the job I did previously.
The patio has held well throughout boughts of rain… time will tell how it holds!
Applied to patio with sand between the slabs and this left a good protection on the slab and set the sand between the slabs solid – much easier to clean the patio area now
Found that using a pressure sprayer gave much better results than a roller brush
Seems to seal blocks only time will tell how well iy lasts
I layed down some Indian stone replacing my decking which was there for over 15 years however after 2 years I had algae and moss growing all over the stone which was disappointing, I washed it with the jet wash which seemed to have cleared it but it’s a real effort until I found this product. It really creates a layer (like) ontop of the stone which even the water seems to roll off which is very impressive. Very easy to install and creates a nice wet look the more coats you have. Overall very impressed.
I have 3 patios and put 2 coats on each last year. I haven’t had any more weeds appear. Highly recommend it!
This tub does go a long way and is very easy to use. Sealed up my patio nicely with a couple of coats. Will need doing every year tho.
Good product. Does exactly what it says in the product advertisement. As an elderly woman, I have been caught out more than once with false promises for building products. In my opinion, you can’t go with Sika products.
Found this very simple to apply, with immediate results which look great, and make cleaning loads easier.
I have fairly cheap coloured concrete slabs, newly laid, and this product made them look far better, straight away
Hopefully lasts the winte
Nothing to dislike about this product, It did the job perfectly.
I laid my block paved patio about 20 years ago and never thought of sealing it.
So there it was with just kiln dried sand filling the joints and looked lovely at the time but it wasn’t long before the weeds started finding their way in.
20 years later I’d had enough and gave it a good jet wash, refilled the joints and applied this stuff.
Not only does it seal the blocks but it bonds the sand hard to prevent anything growing in between the joints.
I’m not sure how it would stand up with a jet wash though but happy so far.
I used this to seal coping stones around raised brick planters in the garden. It stopped the stones looking powdery and gave them a nice mat sheen. The water just runs off.
Used to seal paving bricks. Will have to wait to see if product lasts as it had reached its shelf life by the time I received i
Great product. Used on Indian Stone, had to have it all re-grouted due rubbish easy grid. Then it required sealing. I looked at more expensive products to do this , but I know Sika stuff is good so I bought this. Easy to apply, did 2 coats, on a dry day, got a great satin finish, looks great and protected.
After years of jet washing and re- sanding the drive we plucked up the courage to try sealing. So far so good, easy to apply. We have an issue with ants digging through the gaps in the driveway they now have nowhere to go, bonus! Would recommend as a solution to an ongoing problem!
This really is a good patio sealer for the price. It’s also water based so easy to use and spread. I first used it three years ago on some concrete patio slabs. I did three coats for the wet look, although two I’m sure would be fine if you just want to cover it. I was sceptical about how hard wearing it would be as it was water based – but after three years it still looked good. I have just put on another coat to give it the new wet look again as it was beginning to look faded although continued to work as a sealer by stopping all the dirt and grime from settling. Last year I sealed another patio at the back of the garden made from Indian Flagstone and put on three coats. This had the effect of a Matt finish and seemed to not resist the winter staining as much. However it was very easy to wash off. After two more coats earlier in the year it now has a little more of the wet look coating and appears to work as well as the concrete ones. I suspect being water based it soaks in to the stone layer more easily and you just need a few more coats.
Gave my Indian Sandstone some nice finishing, but thankfully haven’t changed its colour.
At least here, was a toned down wet look, and some decent protection for 3 years before requiring some top up.
We have a mixture of Indian sandstone , York stone , and slate set over a large area , so I was looking for ease of use , results, and needing around 60 litres , cost. This product excelled on all surfaces , particularly the York stone transforming a dull ” dry looking” surface to a mat like sheen in one coat. I used a soft broom to apply the product making sure any puddling was subsequently spread so as not to cause a varnished effect when dry , this is important. Best way is to spread over about 20 slabs , wait for it to settle then revisit and disperse, walking on the wet surface left no evidence.
Use with confidence , and ignore the daft review saying “it will kill you” unless you intend drinking it!
I like this product, I think it works quite well I have taken pictures in-between jobs, they are right bout the *Ponding* it doesn’t look to bad but in sunlight it does stand out allittle but nothing to dramatic… I wanted mine to look more of a wet look so going to buy another one and hope it shines bit more, it will still be well sealed but yes I recommend this product I used it in Indian stone…
Does what it says. Easy to use, i used a roller and slathered the first coat on, left it to dry for 24 hours then give it a second coat, four hours later it was completely dry so i gave it a third coat. Sand stone patio looks amazing, really brought out the colour and texture of each slab. I might have ice issues on top of the slabs come winter but thats what salt is for.
This is excellent and very good value for money. I used it to seal my concrete garage floor. It’s loads cheaper than concrete sealer but does the same job. 2 coats and I’ve barely used half of it. Applied with a small gloss roller. I wanted a shiny finish hence 2 coats. I didn’t deal with the stains on the concrete though as I am covering it with rubber gym flooring.
Now that it is sealed I can run my hand over it or sweep it and NO DUST!!!
Im definitely going to buy more and seal my block paved driveway.
My grey paved drive is 5 years old, was never originally sealed and so covered with moss in the joints and algae on the paviour faces. It looked a mess. Pressure washed then re-sanded (make sure the paviours are bone dry otherwise the sand drags). I left it a week in warm weather, and tested a small patch to see if the kiln sand slid in. It did. So re-sanded one day, and sealed the next in August 2020 as the weather was forecast to change and wanted it done. Best tip online is to use a leaf blower before sealing to help rid of excess sand. Don’t worry if seems too much sand is blown away, the sand only needs to be between blocks not up high. Also don’t need whacker plate as only topping sand up. NB. there are different shades of kiln sand, at different builders merchants, it depends what they can get apparently. I never realised and had to exchange 2 bags of reddish sand for blonde sand like the original as red looked awful with grey paving. Apologies I digress…. now to the BLOCK SEALER. Sika seal very easy to use, like a white PVA/acrylic liquid, goes on bluey white, dries quickly and invisibly on a hot day. Cut in edges by walls with paint brush, then first coat with roller, second with garden pump spray. It dries rock hard, as evidenced on sand blown off edge of drive when I poked it. Very pleased as it felt it might wash off at first rain when you first put it on. Close up photo is finished drive. Not glossy, but has enhanced paviour a little bit, bear in mind it was never done before, so the sealer was really sucked in. I feel it’s protected now. I may do another coat or two as not too expensive to buy, and do prefer a sheen look. Amazon has great price on this when compared to other suppliers/products. Happy to update. Time will tell good luck all, it’s a very satisfying job done
After using some of the more expensive brands in the past I thought I would give this a go based on the positive reviews. I wanted to cover 50m2 of new Indian sandstone slabs so bought plenty but 5l did two coats of the lot. A little does go a long way if you want it to using a paint roller. I did experiment using a sprayer but wouldn’t recommend it and you don’t get the even coverage you need. First coat brings the colours out, second coat leaves a lovely sheen. I probably could have used it even more liberally to get an even wetter look but am really happy with the result. Excellent product.
The white liquid is easy to apply and due to the sunny weather dried really quickly. The coverage is also good and my large block paved driveway only required one and three quarters containers. The block paving I applied it to was just over a year old and looked a bit tired, and this product has brought out the original colours nicely. Not glossy as I did not want that.
Hopefully, the product will protect the paving from weathering as this was the main reason for using it, only time will tell. I have used Sika products before and know them to be of good quality. I would use this product again.
Used this on our paving block patio. No one told us we needed to seal these so they remained as laid for four years. Powerwashed, re-sanded them and applied this product with a garden sprayer. They have come up as new – wife really pleased with my work so there’s brownie points for me! Leaves a pleasing sheen to the blocks and they sparkle in the sun! Deducted one star as the coverage was disappointing (although I may have lavished it on a bit thick!). Bought one 5 litre but ended up having to buy another three! (!)
Overall, I can really recommend this sealer and would definately buy again.
The sealant is great, easy to apply, yet its too good, when I say too good, when rain or general hose water hits it, its nowhere to go, however I confess I have a complete patio garden, if your patio is surrounded by grass or garden, the rain would have somewhere to go.
Looks good, a slight sheen though which I would prefer my slabs to remain rustic….do not do a second coat, it will look like a dancefloor
good produc
