Sillbird 3-in-1 building set with 361 toy building parts that can be assembled into an airplane, a dump truck or a transport truck; Using children’s endless imagination and creativity to discover new possibilities, the 3-in-1 building set is ideal for imaginative play
will keep young and old happy( or frustrated ) for a while
This is a set where you can build 1 of 3 things at once, its something that a creative child will love and get to play with after of course then when they are bored of that one they can take it apart and build another one.
The instructions are detailed .
The quality is great
Brilliant item
Both my grandsons, 8 and 10, are fiendish lego builders and I knew they would love it. They do! We love that this is a STEM kit, so designed to be for learning. There is so much you can do with this kit including the flexible parts. These boys will almost certainly move on to redesigning it for a fourth or fifth design. If they do, I will add the pictures.
I suspect that haven’t entirely followed the instructions completely already, but will await the final outcome when I see them next.
This building kit toy is a great idea and is fairly similar to another well known brand but at a fraction of the price. There are 3 options of vehicles to make – aeroplane, dumptruck or a transport lorry. It is easy enough to put together, though requires some patience because of the size and instructions are included.
My son loves it and so far we have made the dump truck and he likes it so much we haven’t tried making any of the others yet. Good value for what you get, but there are only enough pieces to make one of the vehicles at a time.
cant write a review as this is a gift for someone else
This is a fantastic set – you can use the parts provided to build 1 of 3 models (there is enough pieces to build just 1 model at a time so you need to dismantle your model to build the next)
You get a really clear full colour manual to show you how to make each model.
10 year old found them easy to complete and enjoyed putting them together – 8 year old wasn’t so keen but she isnt a fan of vehicles and I suspect if they had been a rocket ship or UFO which she is more interested in she would have enjoyed it.
Good value set that provides a lot of fun – you can go off script and create your own designs with the pieces provided as well
I got this for my nephew who loves to build and make things and he has had so much fun with this one! It reminds me of Lego Technic but at a fraction of the cost – so what’s not to love! In this set you get a 3-in-1 building set with 361 toy building parts that can be assembled into an airplane, a dump truck or a transport truck. You also get easy to follow and detailed instructions, so no concerns around figuring out how to make any of the items. Of course, once they are completed, all you need is some imagination and the building world is your oyster!
The pieces are well made and seem extremely sturdy and durable and all of them are well finished and fit together nicely. I’m really impressed with this and my nephew has loved it – I’ll be looking out for more items by this brand, especially as they are s much cheaper and just as good as the much more expensive brands.
The first thing I noticed about this toy construction set is that it’s great quality – just as good as similar LEGO sets. As well as this, the plastic is non-toxic and doesn’t smell.
You get enough pieces – and the instructions – to make 3 different models – a dumper truck, airplane and truck. You can only build one model at a time – or whatever you choose to build – with the 361 pieces you get in the kit. They’re nice and bright – the majority being orange, black or grey.
The instructions are clear although I did think they could be a little bit better spaced out on the page. But they’re easy to follow and to come out with the model as it’s supposed to look.
What I like best about this set is that building the models is only part of the fun. While the building gives a better understanding of engineering and design, you can then play with the model you’ve built and see how all the pieces work together as the model are interactive (so things move on the final models).
This is a really good set and you get a good amount for your money. It feels like the kids would be learning something without realising while playing and while this can be used from age 6 up, people well over the age of 6 will get just as much fun out of it, I feel. 5 stars.
This is a great gift option for curious kids who loves building toys like this. This is a better and cheaper options as kids don’t tend to play for long with a single toy. You can make a dumper truck, a plane and a jeep out of this. It is excellent how all these pieces join together to form these objects which has some moving parts as well. I got this as a gift for my nephew who just loves constructing such toys. The color combinations are excellent and the eventual toy looks pretty attractive. The quality of the pieces is great and they fit perfectly together. This is pretty light weight so it is easy to carry as well as to play with.
It came with a coloured pictorial manual with detailed instructions.
This is a really nice small building bricks construction set which can be used to make three different vehicles of a good size. My 9 year old found this quite challenging and it kept her busy an unusually long time so is good for improving skills if concentration I think.
Perfect present for a child who is into constructing things. An obvious progression from LEGO. Me need some adult help but this will keep the kiddies amused for hours.
Great packaging and a good price.
Great fun set with three standard models to build, or if you feel innovative and creative, design your own.
Now, one thing I must point out is that this is NOT Technic, like it claims in the title. Do not be misled by this and think this is Lego, it’s not.
The pieces are good in quality and the pieces come together easily, so I’m very happy with this as a whole.
The designs are all different and create very details transports.
At the time of review, 26.99 with a further 15% off from the voucher putting it at 22.94, this is decent in value given the sizes of the finished product. 361 pieces isn’t a lot, and in fact, I would argue that at this price, you can actually get a Lego product with similar number of pieces. However, designs are down to personal taste, and was fun to put together, which is now on display on a shelf.
To be given as a present so waiting to see the end produc
This toy is a good alternative to Lego. The quality of the building blocks is very good, won’t break. And you can build one of three vehicles out of it.
I feel it is very good mind stimulator for kids to understand how to build and how it works like the rotor of the plane. My opinion is kids would spend good number of hours building ( and rebuilding) each of the vehicles, keeping them interested and busy.
At 29.99, it is very good price given the high quality and being 3 in 1 toy.
This building toy is just awesome. I wish I had toys like this when I was a kid.
This toy comes in many small parts which need to be assembled but only one toy can be constructed at a time; Dump truck, transporter truck or airplane and they all go into details.
Assembling it’s quite easy following the steps in the instructions, but also still challenging in a good way.
All parts feel well made, I don’t think they will break easily but rather last a really long time if taken care of.
My child really loves this one so I will focus on this kind of toy for him from now on.
These are great technical building blocks, best I’ve come across yet that is not official, building with them can be as easy or technical as you like and the finish of them is superb, they’re also a great learning aid both for mechanical construction and motor skills, I built the dump truck which looks great finished and I think is the most challenging to build, all in all, really good blocks and really good value.
This is a fabulous fun and educational construction set, which provides great fun and educational development too, an ideal combination.
The set has an amazing 361 pieces, which provides endless possibilities to build either the vehicles with instructions included or machines from your child’s imagination.
The pieces are robustly made from quality materials and the step by step instructions are easy to follow. At the younger end of the age spectrum listed this is a great set for an adult and child project, ideal for parents/grandparents to have fun and learn together.
One thing to note is that you can only build one vehicle at a time, not all three or even two, so the product photo that shows two children playing together with two vehicles is a bit misleading and needs to be made much clearer.
At the current price of 19.99 (with the 10 current discount applied from the RRP of 29.99), this set is excellent value for money, even at 29.99 it is good value for a robust and interesting kit, so if you’re considering purchasing this as a Christmas gift, then buy now! I’m giving this kit four stars, it loses one star only because the product photos are a bit misleading.
I was pleasantly surprised when we made this model from Sillbird, I had almost given up with lego imitation kits, as even if the bricks are up to standard, the design and instructions are usually very much lacking. This set on the other hand ticked all those boxes and is an accomplished design with clear instructions and well finished blocks and connectors.
The instructions are not quite up to lego standards with the steps feeling a little cramped on the page compared to the gold standard but they are still perfectly followable and clear. We have only made the dumper truck so far but it has steering and tips and is being enjoyed immensely by our four year old.
Good quality and for the price (30 at time of review) just about worth it for the three designs, although you can get a similar sized Technic set for a couple of quid more. But I have to say I was dubious when ordering but pleasantly surprised with the quality when it turned up.
Superb 3 in 1 construction set with a great build quality to the point we thought it was made by the more famous company.
The same kit makes one of the available three vehicles at a time with plenty of scope for designing your own vehicles (the whole point of these things) very technic like and the price is great for what you get in the box. At the time of review a 10 voucher can be added at checkout taking this down to an awesome 19.99
This is quite an interesting construction set that seems like something of a hybrid of Lego and K’Nex. The build quality to the parts isn’t bad. This set can be used to make three vehicles (a functional dumper truck, a plane, and a transport truck).
The build pieces came packed in 4 bags. Unlike with Lego, these bags weren’t sorted into build stages, but rather seemed to be broadly subdivided by size and part type, so you need to work from all 4 bags simultaneously when constructing. Instructions for the three planned builds are given in a clearly laid-out step-by-step instructions book, with the parts needed for each stage identified at the top of the step — this is much like using Lego build instructions. The vehicles can’t be made at the same time, so this is a take it apart and rebuild it kit.
My 8 year old nephew is quite pleased with the kit, and its similarity to other construction sets. 2 out of 3 of the builds have been a hit: he has made the dumper truck and the plane, but is less interested in building the transport truck, which he has dubbed boring. Two excellent vehicle builds, one a bit less so, still doesn’t seem bad at the current asking price of 19.99 (29.99 with 10 off voucher).
Number of pieces: 361
Average price per piece: 5.6p (based on current 29.99 having a 10 discount voucher)
I received this item through the Amazon Vine programme.
This is a decent quality construction set, though it’s worth noting that it isn’t three vehicles in the kit, it’s a kit that can be used to construct EITHER one of three options.
The age description of 6+ is accurate, it’s not really suitable for younger kids as there is a level of difficulty/patience involved: sort of a mix between Lego and Meccano: but it’s a good kit, the components are well manufactured and the provided instructions are pretty good.
Everything (except stickers) should last for years if not abused, so the retail price of 29.99 is not unreasonable. At the time of review a 10 discount voucher was on offer (valid until 15/09/21) which would make it a good buy.
This is really cool. It reminds me a lot of Meccano, but slightly simpler and more fun if the kid is slightly younger. The fact it can be either of the three toys gives hours of play for my nephew who’s really in to construction vehicles, as he picks one to build and spends a good hour making it before play – everything uou’d want from an occupying toy really!
It’s sturdy and robust and easy to build, with some natural challenges but they’re the point of it – get that construction head on and work out how to make it!
