It’s OK for the smaller nutcerts but anything over m8 it gers a little emotional and struggles.. Stripped the threads on the tool and didn’t pull the nutcerts in properly
A typical, and good, threaded insert (nutsert) tool which comes with different sizes of nuts and spindles. Usual care needed to not ‘bend’ the spindles when applying pressure when squeezing the handles or the spindle could break when under tension. Good tool, recommended.
Just to clarify – this tool does come with ‘Inserts’ – that is 4 x inserts for 4 x sizes of rivnut. It does not come with rivnuts themselves.
The quality is acceptable, the insert-tool-cum-handle-clip just about works. It sets M6 Steel hex rivnuts fine, although trying to set steel rivnuts with these short handles is extremely hard work.
Would recommend for aluminium rivnuts, For steel rivnuts or anything over M6, I’d recommend something with much longer handles or better leverage.
Overall, for once in a while DIY jobs, this tool is absolutely fine, but understandably wouldn’t last a day in industry.
Note that the inserts and collars are both left-hand thread.
excellant product and easy to use even with 8mm fittings.what i am actually looking for is a tool that will put the insert into 30mm box section but with the thread on the outsideof the box.
Worked OK for me but only used with alloy inserts
Good tool, just like all the others, needs effort to use.
A bit of fettlig with steel washers to take up the excess slack and I’ve got a tool that will last for years and that I could have paid 100 or more for. Certainly not worth the poor reviews. Anyone who is working with these kits should have the knowledge of engineering to take 5 minutes to make these changes before they sta
Perfect for my needs! I recently bought a ladder for the back of my discovery 2, in the kit were 4 small rivnut to put on the door two on the top and two under the rear door handle, this tool made light work of crimping up the rivnut and was cheap enough…if your doing heavy big rivnut this may struggle but for little ones save your money and buy this especially for the work described.
Well made did the job perfectly the only negative is when you squeeze the riv nut home the last part is really tuff
