A social deduction game full of snakes
HOW TO PLAY SNAKESSS
Snakesss is quick to learn and easy to play but like any good game it’s a challenge to master. Watch out for the snakes! They already know the answers and their diabolical mission is to charm the rest of you into choosing the wrong answers.
Are you a snake, an ordinary human or a mongoose?
KEEP IT SECRET
To start the game each player is handed a character token. If you’re the Mongoose of Truth flip over your token, take the wooden mongoose figurine and put it in front of everyone to show everyone that you are not the snake. The rest of the players (ordinary humans or snakes) must keep their characters secret.
Be careful of the snakes
TRUST NO ONE
Only the snakes are allowed to see the right answer of the question card. Once they’ve read it they must flip it over and everyone has 2 minutes to discuss a slippery multiple choice question as “what has been proven to attract sharks?” or “what is the most common internet password?“. The snakes will do everything in their power to trick you so be careful about your choice.
Reveal your answers
SO MANY SNAKESSS
When the time is up, every player must place their chips in the middle of the table. If you are an ordinary human or a Mongoose and you get the answer right you gain a point and if you are snake you get a point for every wrong answer. Keep playing until you finish the six rounds, the player with the most points wins!

Played this over Christmas and New Year with the whole family. Kids need to be 8/9 plus to enjoy. Very good fu
Such a good game, play for fun or play seriously, everyone can join in, hope these more questions developed as it won’t take that long to get through them all. Developer has an online video on how to play, so everyone can be clued up within minutes
As a 4 player game, we found that only having 1 snake worked better.
Finally, what’s the deal with the Mongoose? . Mongoose aside, a good game for the family.
I played this with 4 people, and the game tells you to use two snake cards, one human card and one mongoose of truth card. This balance doesn’t really work as the human knows who all the other players must be, as do the snakes.
We fixed it with this home brewed rule!
For four players:
Shuffle two snake cards and two human cards. Pick three of them at random, then shuffle those three with the mongoose card. Deal them out to players. Now no one knows if there is one snake and two humans, or two snakes and one human! Completely restores the balance of the game. Loved it once we did this.
This is a really good game when you get your head round the rules. We have played it with my 12 year old son and 8 year old daughter. We have played it as a group of 4 then as a group of 6. With more people it changed the dynamics of the game. Which made it even more fun. I would recommend for a family or a group of older friends.
We gave this game to our grandchildren for xmas, and now we often play when we visit them, it’s a lot of fun! It’s about guessing the answers to questions, but you discuss it amongst yourselves before choosing your individual answers. The twist is that there is one person who has to tell the truth, then a combination of people who just say what they think the answer might be, and the rest are the snakes who know the correct answer but have to try and dissuade everyone else from getting it!
Really enjoy playing, fun for all need 4+ players to make it really fun (helps I’ve won most the Times I’ve played)
Game is easy to pickup and understand and is a huge amount of fun n a group.
We played it regularly as friends and family grasped it quick and didn’t get bored of it. Certainly gets the energy and conversation up and had lot fun playing it. Really do need a decent size group to play though would say 4 is a minimum but not recommended more 6 people +
A really great family game. If you watch the short you tube video on how to play it’s really easy to get started and playing quickly. My family love it. I recommend this game to anyone who loves good family fun time.
I got this to play with my 12 year old daughter and family ready for Christmas. Myself and my daughter tested it out and it’s brilliant! Very easy to follow instructions and a great laugh, kept us amused for hours and can’t wait to play this with the rest of the family.
An interesting co-operative game. It requires at least 4 players and the main aim of the game is to work together to find the right answer to multiple-option questions. Simple enough. However, some of the players you’re ‘co-operating’ with, will try to lead you down the wrong way. They’ll try to convince you to pick an answer which is actually wrong: if you fall for it, they score the points!
Very interesting concept. We had a lot of fun, it is a very social game and is fun whether you’re a snake or not. If you are, you have to be careful not to be too obvious, you have to read people and try to convince them that they’re wrong. If you’re not a snake, you get paranoid. You want to get the right answer and have to listen to your team mates but everything everybody says is analysed and questioned. Don’t be fooled!!!
Very fun with lots or replayability. 100% recommended.
We do love a board game and have the usual, scrabble, monopoly, articulate, trivial pursuit and many more at home. I was looking forward to trying out a new game.
We had a great time playing it, it was quite fund having to figure out who was lying and seeing some people struggle to convince others. Everyone really enjoyed it and I will certainly play this again. I think this game works better with more people so would recommend playing with more than just the minimum 4 people if you can.
The questions are pretty out there, so don’t feel shy about bringing this game when your smartest pal is going to be playing.
Being a small family of 3 it took a while before we got our 4th to try this game out. It is really fun and just goes to show us how good a liar some are, moreso than others! It’s been a long time since I tried a new game, I normally stick to old favourites like Monopoly or Scrabble. It was nice to play a totally new game and half the fun was learning the rules.
This is one of those games that, if at no other time, will definitely come out at Christmas or whenever friends come around.
Really fun to play as a pastime! However it does get a little repetitive. The more people playing the better; with just the minimum people (4) things can get a little predictable.
Love this game! Great fun with friends trying to deceive them into the wrong answers or fighting to make the truth heard!
Also loved the eco friendly packaging as it was all paper or card and no plastic!
Was a wee bit hard to get the hang of but once we did it was a great laugh. Highly recommend for a big group of people, great for holidays
The players are dealt out character cards which tell them whether they are humans, snakes or the mongoose. The mongoose is the only one that you know isn’t the snake, so is the only one you can trust to be trying to find the right answer. The snakes are the only ones around the table who know the correct answer and are tasked with using deceit and trickery to persuade you to pick the wrong answer.
This game is particularly good because of its simplicity, it’s so easy to pick up and just play. No time spent reading over the rules and trying to understand them you can play it within only moments of opening it for the first time. We played the game with 4 players and all of us really enjoyed it. I do think a greater number of players would make this more fun so am looking forward to getting a larger group together and trying it again.
If you are into games nights with your friends, you really can’t go far wrong with this one.
We played after dinner, 8 people… Was super easy to learn. Really fun. Will definitely be taking this to dinner parties in the future… Nice box and design too!
Highly recommend.
I love big potato games, and this one didn’t disappoint! This is a fun, party game – I played with some of my friends. Definitely one to play if you enjoy trivia. There are plenty of cards so I’m sure you can play multiple times with no repeats.
