Its hard for me to knock the Solo Stove company for anything. I actually own about 7 (that’s right seven) of their stoves. The little ones live in my family’s backpacks. My most recent purchase was the Yukon 2.0 27″ fire pit system for the backyard. I got all the goodies. I ordered the grill and hub but I got a griddle and hub instead. That is worth knocking off a start.
however, I’m keeping griddle because, well, its hard to cook pancakes, eggs and bacon on a grill.
I just ordered the large grill. Hopefully it will fit the 27″ Yukon 2.0. The description just says that it fits the bonfire and the yukon. Not very reassuring. If it comes in and is too small for the 27″ Yukon I might just have to knock another star off.
We were hesitant to purchase this grill because of the price but loved the idea of using it on our Solo fire pit. We eventually purchased it and are so glad we did! We use this product often and absolutely love it. It’s a hit at parties and people love cooking directly on the open fire. Highly recommend!
Love it, the ability to cook on a fire, add more wood and enjoy the outdoors. I’ve added this to the lower cost costway firepit without issue. It fits almost perfectly and is a perfect upgrade to a normal bbq!
The grill is great and the food we cooked on it is delicious. The only downside is you have to let the grill cool down before you can store it and you can’t put the solo stove cover over it while it’s hot. Being that it is cast iron and can be prone to rust you have to have a plan on where to put it while it cools downand even after that, where to put it once it’s done and cool. And you’d have to make sure it doesn’t plan to rain soon if you let it cool down outdoors. We’ve put it in the oven to cool before, but if we needed the oven we’ve resorted to putting it on the garage floor to cool until it’s done, and even then it’s hard to say where to put it until next use. If there was a product solo stove sold to store the grill, or to help with transition between being hot and cool I would buy it in a heartbeat. All in all, serves a great purpose and the novelty of cooking I’ve an open fire on cast iron is pretty awesome, it’s just an investment of time and work, not really a “quick and easy clean up.”
Not a giant cooking area, but for a few flame cooked burgers and various eats, this is awesome!!! Adds to an already great product.
After receiving both, seasoned the griddle and christened it with a juicy steak, worked beautifully!
Nothing like being able to cook on my solo stove. High quality materials will last a long time.
We already loved our fire pit, but now it’s even better! We did steaks on it for the first go around; will never regret this purchase!
