I have a 9 year old who is not particularly a Sonic fan, but he’s enjoyed both films and watches these over and over.

There are enough things to keep more grown-up viewers entertained too, and plenty of references to the games for the dedicated fans to look for.

My youngest girl (just turned 9) has been watching the latest incarnation of the Sonic TV series on one of the streaming platforms, and had also seen the first of the movies, so was dying to watch the second.
I played Sonic on my Megadrive back in the day, and if I’m honest, I would only have hated the idea of watching the Twilight movies more than I did these, but I figured that we could be the cool parents that I never had if we made a movie-night of it – and forced her sister (13) to watch them too.

What a pleasant surprise. We laughed, we enjoyed, we enjoyed watching our kids laugh, and my wife even didn’t hate Jim Carrey for once!

The films are fun and family friendly, they won’t win any Oscars, and Will Smith won’t smack James Marsden across the face but so what? Enjoy them for what they are!

    Ohhh the nostalgia!

These two films took me back MANY years and the ride was AWESOME!!

Sonic the Hedgehog set the ride up, and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 took me on all kinds off drops, loops and corkscrews along the way. Incredibly satisfying to watch over and over.

If you havent seen this, you are truly missing out.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat movies, seriously some of the best video game movies ever. But that boxart is really, really bland. Two posters side by side? Painfully bland.
