Definitely worth the money.
These headphones take a bit of work to make them sound good, but it’s worth the trouble.
Fantastic noise cancelling earbuds at a great price. Superb to use on a plane or train as they really cancel out the travel noise. Really good sound quality as well. Also comfortable to wear for long periods. If exercising hard though may be prone to falling out but totally fine for everyday use including walking.
I do love these but not an active set of headphones for me as they tend to fall out with too much movement.
That said they are great commute ‘phones. Noise cancelling not complete but enough to make listening on a busy train much quieter and clearer.
My soundcores are excellent at eliminating motorway road noise when travelliing in a car, the sony’s are not nearly as good. London underground tube noise, the sonys have good isolation and the sound cancelling helps as well, but they mainly seem to reduce the tube noise they dont really cancel it, (I havent yet tried my soundcores on the tube).
I’ve never had wireless ear buds before so don’t have anything to compare them with.
Sound is decent but not “blow your mind”. The fit is good with a range of tip sizes.
These come with noise cancelling & ambient surround/awareness modes which are OK but I’m not sure they make it worth upgrading from the cheaper 500’s
I think you tend to get what you pay for from Sony. Don’t let that put you off though…these do sound great, just not as impressive noise cancelling (still good though).
Overall would recommend but I suppose I’ll have to shell out a lot more to get really good bass.
Great battery life and stay in your ears when you run. Also super cute colou
First things first, I had a problem with shipping and it made me go to Curry’s to buy my pair
Pros :
Best audio quality I’ve experienced, great ANC, great Atmosphere sound. All and all best pair of headphones I’ve ever purchased
Cons :
Hard to open, hard to tell when they are full battery
This is nicely built and fit nicely – comfort.
ANC still top notch.
Calling quality is sharp and clear.
Supporting fast charge- however, the battery life could be improved, as only last about a week of commuting ( about 2.5 hours a day )
Reasonable at 100 mark.
Sound so far has been good, and still early days for me learning the full functionality but it appears you can get a better sound with an additional paid app. So if I have to pay more to get full sound benefit, then I have to give this a negative, but overall I am pleased with them.
The noise cancelling barely works. Comparing between noise cancelling and “Off”, the only thing I found it filtered out was a slight wind noise from my fan. Other than that, it doesn’t do anything. I can still hear everything else around me the same.
The soind quality is also great, excellent clarity, the sound balance can be adjusted through the app including custom settings. These also have the best bass I’ve ever heard through earphones in my life.
These also have 360 Reality Audio capability which really does make it sound like you’re in a live concert hall, it’s absolutely incredible. However, I’m a bit annoyed that you need a subscription to a sound streaming service in order to use this feature. I hate it when you need to pay extra to subscribe to a service just to use technology you’ve already paid for. It’s a bit of a waste for me as none of the services that support it are services that I’ve ever used before and with the cost of living right now, a new streaming service is not on my list of priorities, no matter how great it sounds.
But if you can afford it, or already subscribe to either: 360 Reality Audio Live; Artist Connection; nugs . net; or TIDAL, then 100% get these earphones.
Even without the 360 audio though, the sound quality is still better than competitors in this price range and they are also the most comfortable to wear earphones I’ve ever owned. It’s hard to fault them, really.
They are very comfortable to wear for long periods of time and fit nicely in my ears with the silicon tips offering a fair amount of noise reduction on top of the active noise cancellation.
The buttons are not touchpads, but physical buttons, which I actually prefer. Their function can be customised in the application.
One feature I would really like is the ‘auto pause/play’ feature that you see in other more expensive models. Instead, you have to manually pause the music when you take them out of your ear.
In use I found the sound quality excellent, with a lot of detail,. smooth highs and nice lows. Really good performance for all music types: rock, folk and jazz. Nice sense of ‘space’. The ANC cancels out a lot of background noise as well. If you want headphones with great sound and noise cancellation these are excellent.
The application from Sony offers a lot of customisations to the sound, but I tend to stick with the presets. One aspect of the app that I like is the ability to customise when the buds switch to ambient mode. For example, when I walk they switch to ambient mode to allow me hear the traffic and it allows you to setup locations that have specific modes. For example, I have set them up so the ANC comes on at home and in the office.
Pros
– Nice compact buds that are comfortable with a pocket sized charging case
– Brilliant sound quality
– Excellent ANC
– Highly configurable via the app
Cons
– No ear detection
At 100 pounds these are brilliant value for money and highly recommended if you want something that’s better than the average EarBuds but don’t want to spend a fortune.
Now of course the sound is not comparable to some of the high end earbuds but they are definitely up there for the price. I found them to be well rounded with a deep bass, maybe lacking a bit of crispness at the high-end but impressive overall for the price point. The charge was also impressive and I have only had to charge them once this week so thats another plus. I also like the case they come in it’s compact, very light and works well.
Overall a great set of earbuds for a very reasonable price. I have been testing out a lot of Sony products lately and continue to be impressed, would recommend.
Nice sound for the money. Voices sound just about right. Quite a bassy backdrop to the sound.
As soon as I placed them in my ears felt comfortable and unattrusive, nor did either of them feel like they were about to drop out – I have trouble with my right ear! So far with all bells and whistles switched on power levels on ‘ both ‘ earbuds are balanced the same and have dropped to 70% equal.
The charging case and buds seemed to have all been fully charged up which is very convenient and I didn’t have to charge before use! Thank you Sony.
More later
Today on my third day I’ve had these buds in for two hours and they are both still showing 100%!
I am still impressed by the comfort and sound quality in particular the surprising deep bass I’ve experienced ,real ‘ basso profundo’ very good value for money so far!
My image is it’s status after use from 10am to 4pm! Impressed
I can’t understand where those deep notes come from! When they get multipoint I think they will be very good value for money! If I lost a bud they are cheap enough to buy again. Good value!
Yesterday I was watching the Coronation of King Charles III and listening on these earbuds such a powerful sound!! And wide sound stage too. Powerful sound of the choirs state trumpeters and even deep notes from the organ at Westminster abbey. Remarkable!!
Lkes:
* Audio is crisp with a tight response – Listening to music, audiobooks, podcasts, etc. is a pleasure
* Has passive audio with an easily accessible button – So no need to take them out to hear your surroundings.
* These create such a good seal in the ear. My pixel buds don’t fit so well, but these are perfect.
* Buttons on buds are nice and large, easy to locate and can be configured easily using the app.
* App is really good with plenty features.
Dislikes:
* Doesn’t have the “remove to pause” feature that most buds have – So if you’re listening to music, etc. the buds don’t detect when you’ve removed them from your ears.
* Cannot connect to multiple devices at once.
* Bluetooth pairing isn’t the most seamless, but that’s expected and easy enough to deal with.
* No locate option – So if buds fall down couch, etc.
Conclusion:
* Lacking in features, but making up for it with fantastic audio, noise cancellation and passive audio.
Yes, I would absolutely recommend these. Although these don’t include all the features that some buds have, for their purpose of pleasurable listening, these are brilliant.
These buds arrived fully charged and were set up using the Sony guidelines accessible through a QR code on the packaging
This gives you the option to set up atmos sound reproduction using the app and your phone to photograph your ears in order to get the best results.
The audio is detailed and like most buds limits the bass , the atmos feature seems pretty good, I tested it with young fathers heavy heavy atmos edition .
The listening experience is ok, I found the eq a little fatiguing after a while but I’m used to listening with speakers or full size headphones and I think that is going to be a feature of most buds especially through Bluetooth
The buds seem pretty well made and the noise cancellation is effective
