I was after a pair of headphones for general use and not ultimate audiophile. I was surprised and very impressed. They look good, sound great to me ( better than my more expensive B&W) and are comfortable. Just what I wanted at a very good price.
Bought this in May and only now in October have I ran out of the first battery charge, and I use it about an hour a day during the week. Magic? Who knows.
In terms of the quality and all that, it’s pretty decent. Can’t complain. I use it for the gym and it does me well.
I bought these for my wife who loves listening to Audible books in bed……
Since getting these headphones my life has been transformed, finally I can sleep better. No more nightmares about Potter, Dumbledore or dementors for me!
Perfect.
Good sound, nice quality for the price, just what you would expect form Sony, comfortable to wear, I purchased them to use in data centres when I am working and on calls, the noise reduction is very good and calls are clear.
These are so user friendly. My child broke his more expensive headphones and I had these Sonys in black which I let him use. He loved the black ones so much that I bought myself a new pair in blue! Easy to connect, long lasting after a full charge and not too big and clumpy to carry around your neck or just slip away in your bag. Functionality is easy as I’m not the most tech savvy and call quality/music is excellent. Wireless/Bluetooth connectivity and quick charging. A steal @ 40.
I love these headphones, they’re the best thing ever I bought in my life in last couple of years. I charged a battery 3 weeks ago and it still has full charge. Used it in the gym about five times over 45 mins percession and still says it has full charge. I bought a second one for my daughter and she loves it too. It connects very well on the Android and on the iPhone also.
The sound is good for the price I paid so I am not going to be very fussy on that. It’s a basic headphones and nothing special with features at all and that is the best quality of this headphone. It’s specifically made to give you great sound and nothing else.
Sound is good, easy to use, battery lasts for ages, stay on in the gym, can hear my phone calls well, love the Greige colour. What more do you want?!
My kids love these headphones and we have bought them several times when they’ve broken (not a fault of the headphones but things like someone stepping on them!) the battery lasts a really long time and the sound quality is good
Best set ive ever owned for the price, very light very comfortable you can change the sound settings on the app.
Seen a few images of broken ones just be careful with them i use a stand to leep them o
I had a bit of trouble connecting to my phone at first, but have had no issues since. I don’t think the noise cancellation is amazing but the sound quality is very good. Very good for the price, love the look of them as well.
I love Sony products and id brought a new Sony MP3 player and wanted headphones to match. The colours go well I have a hard case and shatter proof glass to protect the MP3 player after all it was cheap.
The head phone are really smart the sound quality is great what more could I ask for.
I’m my opinion there great and do the job perfectly.
Thanks
These headphones are excellent. I cannot fault anything on them. Noise cancellation is excellent volume control the clarity of the voices is excellent, so easy to connect. The style is very nice as well. I love the cream colour or beige, and the battery life is on next level oh my goodness you can to charge it like once a week and ur set , I was sceptical at first because the headphones were under 40 but it’s definitely a very good purchase this year and I will be buying again for my daughter.
Bought these on the back of the great reviews
Tried them for 2 weeks before returning
Battery life is excellent and they come fully charged
Don’t come with full noise cancellation but good background noise reduction which is what I wanted as a lone female walking through the park during the day
However I am a petite woman with a small head/ears and these hurt after 15-20 mins so exchanging for some over the ear ones instead
Best headphone ever. Quality sound, easy to use and to connect, mic is clear. The battery last longer. I use it more than 8hours a day and it take a week and days before the battery runs out. It’s light weight and cute. I love it xxx haha
The headphones came quickly and sound great. I’d had a pair of Bose before and long ago a pair of Sennheiser headphones but they’d both broken over the years. The app online for these is great and they are a lot better and comfier than I thought they’d be. Look cool as well. Not too big so fit nice on ear.
I’m no tech expert but these are easy to use & easy to set up. Sound quality is fine for my purposes. I’ve used them for zoom calls & listening on phone. The battery life is excellent. I remain a bit confused by flashing green lights, but the controls on the headset is an added bonus.
I bought these on a whim as I was thinking about buying either beats or Bose/apple. However, I’m so glad I purchased these for a fraction of the price and they are a stunning colour, I haven’t had them off since I purchased them and found Amazon stocks them for a lot less as I saw them in costco for over 100. I would recommend these headphones, they are not complete noise cancelling but I think it’s safer that way anyway.
I love the look of these headphones (which admittedly is my main reason for purchasing) but the battery life is good and also the sound quality. I must admit that I find the buttons a tad small and fidgety, I can’t really tell with my fingers which buttons to use, I need to take the headphone off and have a look. But I am happy to press play and pause on my phone anyways, so all in all really happy with these!
It’s easy and QUICK to connect to my phone. Very simple to navigate all the functions. The battery lasts for SO LONG once it’s charged. The sound quality is decent enough for the price. They fit pretty well on my ears.
I’m not being dramatic but have to say this is a game changer since it’s been totally comfortable using these headphones. (I hate having to charge millions of things frequently, and Bluetooth devices that take ages/fail to connect).
I highly recommend these pair.
I bought these for my boyfriend for our anniversary. He goes to the gym 5 days a week and was getting frustrated using his airpods. After some research I saw these headphones looked worth it and my god they are!
The headphones are soft and lightweight so very co.fortabke to wear. The battery life is insane! My boyfriend uses these headphones 5-6 days a week and he still hasn’t had to charge them yet! We bought these in February (we’re now in April!) The packaging is no s a sleek not too bulky. If you wanted a decent pair of headphones without it costing an arm and a leg I highly suggest these !
I use this every day, I recommend this to everyone who doesn’t want to purchase expensive headphones. The sound quality is amazing, and fits wonderfully, I would talk about battery life for ages. One charge lasts about a week or two with almost 2-3 hours of usage every day. Sometimes my housemate calls me up and I cannot hear them. You can also adjust the sound settings and create your own profiles on their app. When I get a call on my phone, it automatically switches from my Mac to my iPhone when I receive the call. The price is affordable for a Uni student and it’s worth more than the price.
It comes in a cardboard box with instructions on how to use it, a charging cable which is Type C and the headphone itself. Other than there is a warranty card and explanation on how to claim incase of faulty product. It is very easy to connect with your phone or laptop, just search using your Bluetooth and it will showup in a second or two. Connect it and you are ready to use the product! Sony headphone app is not mandatory but if you are like me who loves to be very specific about audio levels then it can really helpful.
Overall, these headphones offer great value for the price.
I’ve been using these wireless headphones for seven weeks.
The Pros:
– The sound quality is very good for the price and is much better than the now discontinued Sony WH-CH500, which was rather tinny in tone. The CH520 reproduces music and media sound with fidelity. Note that I never use headphones for voice calls so I can’t comment on the efficacy of this unit for taking/making calls.
– Not much noise leakage.
– The headphones are very light and, once they have been carefully adjusted, they sit lightly on the ears and don’t cause discomfort. I’ve worn them for hours without experiencing any soreness.
– Battery life is good. I leave mine turned on all day and then recharge them at night.
The Cons:
-The headphones are not robust and would likely break if placed under physical stress. This means that they need to be taken carefully off the head using both hands and then placed where they won’t be harmed by knocks and shocks. These are budget headphones so my guess is that Sony decided to cut costs by reducing build quality while enhancing sound quality. You get what you pay for.
– No noise cancelling.
– The headphones are dualpoint and not multipoint. You can connect them simultaneously to two devices only.
Overall, four stars.
In this price range it’s difficult to find a better quality product than these headphones
Great full closure experience with Sony’s typical audio quality
Light and easy to store ideal for someone who wants great audio and quality for a good price
For the price you can’t go wrong really. I tried them on and they fit comfortably and are adjustable. I put the telly on to try the noise cancellation and had my music volume at a good level and couldn’t hear the telly. The sound is really clear as well. Overall good purchase and would recommend.
This item was first given to me as a gift and it is so perfect I had to buy my husband one. It works perfect for the gym, comfortable and the audio is so perfect!!!! Makes my music feel alive!
Wasn’t sure of these at first bought them for the price and use on laptop, but compared to my more expensive headphones for music they do hold their own .
Instructions are a bit confusing tbh but I didn’t download the Sony Web for use , all I did was set them up by the graphic equaliser on my phone to my style of listening and wallop they sound impressive .
Love these! I bought these to replace a pair that were too bulky and I’ve not stopped wearing them since. Great for the gym and perfect for the supermarket to block out all the noise. Really worth the money as the battery lasts a very long time and they are easy to connect to your phone via bluetooth.
I can go days without charging these headphones, because one charge lasts such a long time. I use these for running, work and just everyday life and they are great. Only problem I’ve seen with them is that the sound escapes from the headphones if the volume is too loud, but other than that they’ve been great for the couple of months that I’ve used them.
Love these. I use the in ear buds for commuting but they are not that comfortable and tend to fall out easily. These Sony headphones are great, superb sound and definitely noise cancelling
Tight fitting so don’t fall off while working and the sound quality is sharp and has great bass.
Got them about 6 days ago and still not needed to charge despite using them a minimum of 8+ hours a day on full blast.
Best headphones I’ve had so far by miles and I’ve had plenty in the past.
Brilliant for the price and very stylish however when near max volume other people can clearly here the music being played and at medium volumes your music may be interrupted by noises around you as they have no form of noise cancelling. Overall good headphones tho
I have tried all different types of wireless headphones/earphones and these are THEEE best I’ve ever had!
Connectivity is great! I’ve managed to take phone calls with them, record videos and enjoyed some listening to music and podcasts (instead of my sons tablet!)
I was expecting something heavy but there are so lightweight I don’t even notice them on my head.
If your looking for great sounding headphones these are the ones!
Great packaging upon opening the box.
Fantastic headphones for the price and look much more expensive. The battery lasts for a long time, I’ve barely charged in the two months of having them. Quality of sound is also good.
Only negative – they are not noise cancelling as claimed, but a risk I was willing to take for the low price.
I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a pair of good headphones for a lower price.
I charge these headphones once every 2-3 weeks n use them most days it’s insane how long the battery lasts the sound quality is good as long as you don’t play the music at a full volume but they’re so loud you won’t ever want them on full volume and very nice and lightweigh
I haven’t fully investigated the functions yet through the Sony App, so can only comment on the ease of Bluetooth connectivity (very easy) and the sound quality which to my ears is very good, with a nice mellow base and good detail generally. The earpads are comfortable and don’t hurt after lengthy use, and seal well against outside noise. I haven’t tried using the noise cancelling function yet. So far I think they are good value overall.
Headphones have a good sound quality and have had no issues this far, even after dropping, have about the same number of features as other, way more expensive headphones.
Generally really nice, never had any connection issues, aesthetically really nice and perform really well!
These headphones also have a really good battery life, I often leave them turned on all day for a couple weeks without them running out, not actively in use all day but I’ve definitely been able to go a few weeks without them running out, even now they haven’t died yet, only ever gotten about as low as 20% and it takes days of constant use to get them to that point.
Only small issue is the fit pinches the ears a little, but after having them for a while I’ve found they don’t do it as much
I love these headphones. Originally bought for the gym but found I use them for a lot more. The battery life is phenomenal. I’ve not charged them yet. Sound is really clear and music sounds great. They were very simple to set up. I would definitely buy again.
Overall a good product, sound battery life etc. The big problem I have is that the ear pads are relatively small and as I wear spectacles the pads press the sides against my ears.
This product is actually very good, and would love to give this as a gift to a friend. One minor problem that I have is that you have to jump through hoops to connect it with your laptop. And then jump again through another hoop if you want to reconnect it to your phone. Honestly, very sad.
omggg im super obsessed with these! the packaging came in amazing quality and the headphones are super great quality as well ! i use these almost everyday for the gym, homeschool and just casually chilling ! they r super soft and the sound quality is AMAZING on them. im so glad i switched to sony headphones they r totally worth the price and i defo recommend
Great headphones, value for money is great! Really easy to connect just via Bluetooth you don’t need any apps etc. Lightweight and the volume is great too, they block out all sound and no matter how loud you have them you won’t disturb others as the sound doesn’t travel. I rarely charge them and they’ve never died on me, I charged mine around 9 days ago and I’m still on 50%. Only thing that would make these better is if you could fold them down like some other headphones.
I’ve had these two weeks, not charged them once and they’re still at 70% battery life. I’m using them for the gym and the only criticism is that the ear pieces are small and don’t fit the best.
I really like these. Had in ears previously but didn’t get on with them. Nice and comfy, easy to use. I use them at the gym so I can easily drown out the awful dance music with some lovely Slayer or Pantera. Battery life is good. Gets a bit sweaty after a while though.
I was looking to get a pair of quality headphones that don’t cost a fortune – so far so good with these ones! I like that they are like with a snuggly fit though not too tight; they connect easily to my phone via Bluetooth and the sound quality is pretty great. Although they are not advertised as noise cancelling, I’d say they do a pretty good job at shutting out outside noises too. And finally, they are easy to carry around the neck since the lower part rotates. My only disappointment is that they didn’t come in any pouch or case, so now I need to invest more money into this too.
I have tried so many different headphones this week I think my ears have jet lag.
Some were well over twice the price of these, and about a quarter as good; sp putting these on, fresh from the box, and playing some crisp, well produced, Steven Wilson music – an extraordinary technical studio engineer and record producer, know for his attention to detail – and the result is as I hoped.
The sound stage is good – although I’ve known better in much higher end headphones – and the music is crisply presented.. perhaps lacking slightly in bass, but good enough, and sparkling and responsive in the middle and upper rangers.. And so clear, the much more expensive pair I bought sounded like I was listening through balls of cotton wool in my ears.
If you want some good budget end headphones which punch way beyond their weight with thieir sound, these are for you
They seem fairly well made and comfortable – but I’ve only been listening to them for 10 minutes so far …. headphones should be ‘run in’ for at least 40 hours before they start to sizzle properly – or so I understand – so I shall expect them to get even better.
My normal go-to for portable BT audio is noise-cancelling earbuds (Earfun are the current kings), but it’s handy to have a pair of simple on-ears when you don’t need – or want – to shut the noise pollution of the outside world away. These replaced a pair of Soundmagic BT on-ears that basically disintegrated one day, and after an initial uncertainty about the sound quality I’m now a solid convert. The key turned out to be the Sony Headphones Connect app, specifically the customised equalizer function. This guided me through building settings that I’d never have managed myself (turns out my high-end hearing is, ah, old), but resulted in clear, rich sound. I’m no great audiophile, but this sounds great for my music (classical and rock) and speech (audiobook and podcast) needs, and I’ve worn them comfortably for hours at a time, not something I could say for other on-ears I have used. Seriously tempted to invest in a pair of XM4s now…
One star off for not being able to fold them, though the cups do rotate flat, and for a complete lack of moisture resistance. IPX3 should be a basic requirement for this kind of stuff!
Bought these for my daughter who needed a pair because she keeps breaking wired ones and enough was enough. Anyway I tried these out first and to be honest I found them to be comfortable lightweight and well built. The sound quality is really good deeps mids and highs all nicely balanced for my ears. Voices on podcasts are crisp and clear and music just sounds great. I found them to have a nice balance of tones. A full charged battery lasted about a week with 2 or 3 hours use a day.
Daughter loves them what more can I say.
For the price point these are really good value but some so called audiophiles might disagree and find fault with them. For me I can’t find any faults and it was money well spent.
I bought these as I wanted lightweight headphones with a good battery life, that would also be noise cancelling for my commute. I got the blue ones and love the colour. The battery life is good too, sound good for audio books and they are reasonably comfy though the earpieces are not huge. As for noise cancelling – where is it? No active noise cancelling I can work out, and the app they suggest you download is pretty pointless. I’ll stick with them for now but I will be seeking out a replacement very soon.
I like that they are small comfortable, adjustable and I wear them alot. The only thing i would change is when you turn them on or off they don’t say that they just make a noise. I had very simular ones Sony again just before and they actually said on and off. I only replaced them with this as I broke them. Other than that very pleased with the product cant go to wrong with Sony.
I was really disappointed when my Sony WH-CH510 headphones broke, and it’s even more frustrating that they’ve been discontinued. So, I had to opt for the WH-CH520 model. The sound quality is impressive for the price — it’s loud, clear, and has good bass. However, I do miss the comfort of the WH-CH510’s ear cup padding. The padding and fit on the WH-CH520 feels tighter on my ears, plus my ears get hotter when I use them at the gym. Despite these drawbacks, the WH-CH520 headphones offer better features and battery life. If given the chance, I’d switch back to the WH-CH510, but I have to admit that the WH-CH520 performs really well and the price is very attractive, so I’m sticking with them.
I got these because my ears get sore with buds so I took the plunge because they’re on sale. I’m very happy that I did! They’re extremely good for the price, brilliant sound that you can adjust with the headphones app to how you enjoy listening to music. They’re very comfortable which was a worry if mine because usually on the ear stuff hurts my ears whilst I wear my glasses, but these are fine!
The only real downside is their inability to fold, so finding a case means getting one that’s quite bulky. But aside from that, brilliant little investment 🙂
Bought these for the gym as could not get on with in ear phones.
I find them for the price very good indeed, they keep most of the sound of the gym out, don’t move around or fall off. So far no sweat problems and let them air dry once home.
So the most important thing of all, what do they sound like. I am working mine off an mp3 player not a phone, had no issues at all, the sound is very good and I am really fussy around my music. I had to set the bass down on the mp3 on its personal settings, and found it to be magic even on nearly full sound, no distortion.
As always time will tell, if they keep going as they are for a couple of years they will indeed be a really cost effective sound system.
BEST THINGS:
– battery life has been over two weeks with around 2hrs of use each day
– the headphones tell you the battery percentage every time you turn them on which is a lot better than just waiting for them to die or make a noise that tells you they need charging
– reliably stay on your head when moving about (I use these while at the gym)
Worst things:
– like many other on-ear headphones they can hurt your ears after extended use. I go to the gym for 2 hrs everyday and experience little discomfort tho
– sound quality is ok. I’d expect slightly better for the price but way better than my wireless earphones (20)
This Sony headset is simply Awesome. I needed a new set badly, but I also needed a set with excellent volume, since I have psoriasis in my ear canals, which reduces the levels of hearing volume (in my case 20% in each ear). The volume on this headset is superb, and, I tested their volume range by going out and around the back yard for times when lawn mowing/gardening and hanging washing on the line. Absolutely perfect volume, even thro Two brick walls!
They are comfortable to wear, and really do have noise reduction, so much so that I had to take them off to hear my husband speaking. The controls are on the right ear pad shown as a red dot inside the band, and the left is a white dot. You can control the sound volume thro the controls for that function.
Another thing that I was worried about is that I am petite and have a small head, but that concern was put to rest by not extending the head band. Again a perfect, snug and comfortable fit. When you turn them on there is a voice activation which tells you the battery level strength; you can also pause a video or podcast thro the right ear pad, and restart a video/podcast again with the same function; so, if you are away/in yard, from the laptop when a video, music etc finishes you can turn the headset off from the ear pad control so as not to waste the battery.
I have immediately ordered another headset for another family member. I would very highly recommend this Sony headset. I am so very happy with this purchase!
I bought these as I wanted some headphones for gaming, as I play CODm on my phone and my earphones were breaking. I also wanted to be able to charge my phone and play, rather than having my wired earphones in and then having to speak through my phone (no one can hear me properly). I can’t use my wireless earphones as my friends can’t hear me through them, either.
The reason I dropped a star is because there’s a slight lag between what’s actually happening on the game and the headphones. E.g if you slide on the ground then you’ll hear it around 0.5s later. It’s not too bad of a lag, so I can deal with it. But I’d have hoped it would be in sync.
But my friends can actually hear me speaking, unlike with my wireless earphones!
Also, I don’t know whether this is my phone or the headphones, but you can’t connect them to Bluetooth prior to going on the game. If you do, and have your microphone turned on to speak, it will go back to playing through your phone. You have to connect them whilst you’re already on the game. It’s probably a phone thing.. but just a heads up!
Music wise.. these are really good! They’re also really loud so be careful . I accidentally had my volume on full blast, didn’t realise, played a song and.. wow it hurt .
Battery wise.. they’ve got SUCH good battery life. I’ve had them about two weeks and I’ve only just had to charge them. And that’s with me playing my game for 5/6hrs in the evening/night, playing music whilst travelling and wearing them to learn a language. And they arrived at 70% battery and still lasted 2 weeks!
When the battery got to 20% it told me it had low battery. I put them on charge for 10/15 minutes and they were back to 70%.
I also prefer headphones over earphones as I’ve got such tiny ears that earphones pop out no matter what size bud I use, and I have to keep fidgeting with them. It’s especially annoying with wireless earphones as I accidentally pause everything whilst pushing them back in .
There’s buttons on these on the underneath of the right side (they tell you R and L on the inside) for on/off, FF/RW/volume +/volume -.
The ear bits do twist inside too. But if you have long hair, like me, your hair can get caught in it.. so just be wary of that.
Noise cancellation wise.. they’re not noise cancelling. BUT if you have music playing/you’ve got music on a game.. then it does make it very hard to hear anything. I have to have one side off as I have kids I need to listen out for, and when my husband tries to speak to me whilst I’m playing a game it’s hilarious as I cannot hear him .
I wasn’t looking for noise cancelling as I do have kids. So this is a non-issue for me.
If you’re a gamer and don’t mind a slight lag, and you listen to music whilst travelling.. go for them. I am really happy with the purchase, even with the small amount of cons!
