I love these headphones, they’re the best thing ever I bought in my life in last couple of years. I charged a battery 3 weeks ago and it still has full charge. Used it in the gym about five times over 45 mins percession and still says it has full charge. I bought a second one for my daughter and she loves it too. It connects very well on the Android and on the iPhone also.
The sound is good for the price I paid so I am not going to be very fussy on that. It’s a basic headphones and nothing special with features at all and that is the best quality of this headphone. It’s specifically made to give you great sound and nothing else.
These are the best value wireless headphones full stop. Sure they feel a little cheap, but they seem sturdy, they have amazing battery life (literally better than my 300 wireless headphones), and the sound is decent for the price.
Size and comfort is okay, I’m a big fella and these fit fine, only a little tight, but I could still comfortably wear them for hours.
I absolutly love these headphones – they are the best wireless headphones I’ve owned. Since I bought them (about February) I have charged them twice and used them to watch films, listen to music and for phone calls. They are brilliant, the battery is just incredible. The quality of the sound is also brilliant – plus you can change sound settings in the app. Also you can connect to two devices! They are very comfortable too.
These headphones are excellent for the price, as these are high quality. The battery life is exceptional, as I bought this more than a month ago and I have not had to charge it once.
The noise cancellation is of high standard, but they do not block out all surrounding noise, so please bare this in mind if you are specifically looking for noise cancelling headphones.
The size of these headphones fit comfortably on my head and ears, so much so that I do not notice them there at times.
Connectivity wise, the headphones have no issue. Connecting to my phone was a smooth transition and took no time at all.
Regarding durability, these headphones are sturdy and I have high hopes that they will not deteriorate quickly – especially for the price.
The sound quality is balanced and natural, and the buttons operate well, as I can skip to the next song/adjust the volume with no interferences.
Overall, I would highly recommend these headphones as they offer quality sound as well as the remarkable battery life. For everyday use, exercise etc. I will commend these headphones as they are excellent.
I ordered these whilst sat on a train, lamenting that I’d forgotten my old trusty Bluetooth headphones for the journey. I wanted a pair that would be compact enough for travel, with battery life that would last several hours of nonstop music listening, that would be comfy & light enough for me to wear without my ears getting sore. These have hit all the marks, and exceeded my expectations! There are 3 buttons on the right ear, for volume, pausing, long press for skipping, and for connecting/disconnecting. Bluetooth is stable, I can leave my phone in one room, go to the other side of the house, and not even notice. They’re very durable. Mega comfy and lightweight. The battery life is insane, haven’t even needed to charge them yet. Despite being Bluetooth and pretty light, they pack a big sound. The quality is so good!! But then again, I’m only listening to Spotify and didn’t get these for audiophile purposes. Just for listening to my music, really really loud, wherever I’m at. They’re not tinny. Sound is balanced so well. I am so impressed. And they’re not expensive!! What’s not to love? Get you a pair.
My reviews are never technical, I won’t start now also! So these came already charged up. I downloaded the app and blue toothed them to my phone. They sound amazing for the price! and the app is easy to use you can create your own sound and save it there. No fiddling around every time you put them on. It let’s you know if you’re listening at a safe volume – I don’t, all the rock concerts I’ve been to have put paid to that – and also how long you’ve been listening. Price is fantastic, really nice headphones for the gym. You can also buy a nice little case on Amazon to fit them perfectly into keep them safe and free from damage.
I’ve been using these headphones for a day or two now and I am very pleased and surprised with the quality and value. Here’s a few things I’ve taken note of so far:
PROS:
– Comfortable! I wear an industrial piercing as well as multiple ball-hoop earrings *and* glasses and the comfort is still great. I’ve had ear cups really hurt me in the past, these fit nicely and are not painful to wear for hours (from what experience I’ve had so far)
– Lightweight. Along with comfort, the fact that these headphones are light means less pressure on my ears.
– Pairing is easy. Easy to connect and set up via Bluetooth. Nice little notice when you switch them on tells you how much battery is left. I’ve connected to old MP3 players and my phone with no drop out in sound or distortion.
CONS:
– Tinny sounding in places. I listen to metal/rock music and the bass sounds great through these headphones and is very clear. I have a problem with cymbals though, they sound quite muffled to me and not defined. Though I tend to have the bass up higher, so I can live with it.
– Use of an app for extra features. Helpful to have extra features, but you need to download the app in order to use this. The headphones also automatically link with your Google account as soon as you connect with your phone.
Overall, great headphones. I’ve paid for more for similar quality. Definitely worth the money in my opinion.
For a cheap (relatively) set of over the ear headphones these are superb, bluetooth is really easy to set up, volume is good seems to be a good range of bass / treble and mid and the battery life is superb, not too heavy as to cause neck strain and the colour is something different….
Probably not suit a audiophile but for bit of gameing, online meeting (choose your colour) and listeing to spotify cannot fault them, seems fairly sturdy too, would benefit from a carry case or draw pouch but hey oh
The headphones are very good for the price. The battery life is very good and the sound quality is quite good aswell. However other people who I’ve spoken to that have tried these headphones say the sound is slightly muffled. They connect very well and fast with my devices. Also I find that they are a good size for me and feel comfortable however people with larger heads may find them tight on the ears. One of the downsides for me is that they don’t come with a case so not very portable meaning you will have to buy a case separately in order to prevent they from breaking as the band is quite fragile. The buttons are not very clear and hard to differentiate between. In general these headphones are really good with just a few downsides.
I have forever been a wearer of in-ear headphones and assumed that on/over-ear headphones would irritate me, be uncomfortable and not offer any great difference. But since using these I don’t think I would ever use AirPods again. They’re super comfortable, very wearable and easily adjustable, all of the buttons are super nice and easy to use. The sound quality is great and the natural wear of the headphone offers some noise cancellation compared to AirPods etc. Great value and great product, fully recommend and very satisfied.
Absolutely love! Use all the time for the gym and walking. Battery life lasts SO LONG, we’re charged when they came and lasted me at least 1-2 weeks before getting to low battery/dead! So easy and fast to charge as well!
These are fantastic for the price the sound quality is brilliant so I would highly recommend if you want some that’s lovely design and either on a budget or don’t want to spend to much money
I bought these to get me through gym sessions. I love the clarity of sound, ease of use and surround sound, battery lasts a long time, only charged them once since I bought them a month ago. They stay on your head firmly, no matter how much you jiggle on the elliptical machine. Can recommend!
Loves these, bought from warehouse, so good price. I use instead of pods, which I find uncomfortable. I’m not going for high spec as using for podcasts, but the sound is great. Comfortable for me, easy to connect and battery life great. Recommend.
Have been using for 6 months and probably only charged it once or twice so far. Battery life is amazing and really easy to connect. I have a small head and these fit great, sound quality is very good for the price and did not disappoint at all. Only wish they do in more shades of colours because everyone is wearing the same headphones on the street but I love the colour I picked which suit me very well.
Has good noise cancellation for the price, not the best in market but still decent, easy to use controls. Would recommend if you have a smaller headshap/ears but still good sound quality regardless, always connects and mic is decent too
I lived these earphones for the first 60 days, then they just stopped switching on. The battery charge is working but the on button just won’t turn on. It’s very annoying as I’m out of my return period and I did see some reviews on here talk about the frustrating switch on button. I get it now. I’ve tried to do the return for repair but I need the seri number which of course I don’t have so anyone buying these perhaps keep the serial number, just in case. But overall before all that they were a great purchase
Way better than any headphones I have ordered! They have such a long battery life, I have been using them for a year and they will still last over a week of listening to 2-3 hours of music a day.
They fit really well on my head, and are only uncomfortable when I wear dangly earrings.
They connect well to my phone, and I didn’t need to download the app, but they are temperamental with my iPad and don’t like Teams calls.
The noise cancellation is good and the music is not tinny.
One note: my friend had a pair of these, and after 5 months, someone bashed into her and broke the headphones, so I do recommend caution as they cannot be stuck back together 🙂
They came well packed . Once the packaging was removed, the headphones were inside a nice Sony carton.
Opened the Sony carton, took the headphones out and powered them on, as they came pre-charged.
I had my Apple iPad ready for pairing, and it paired first time.
They’re reasonably comfortable and the audio is really good & its pleasant to listen to.
I’ve given them 4 stars as audio is ace, but for comfort they could be a little better, but not at all bad. The padding could be a little softer.
Totally useable and these are now my new headphones. Very happy for value for money.
Wow these are the best headphones I’ve ever owned be using them for 3 hours so far and I checked the battery and still says battery full and the 360 sound turns them into beast mode want some highend headphones but not pay a fortune these are the ones
I brought these for the gym and they are really good, sound proof and great quality. The battery last very long and I barely need to charge it. It’s also great if you get a call very clear for you and the person on the other end. I use with my iPhone
For the money these are good!
The build quality is good, they don’t feel cheap and nasty. They look smart and discreet.
The sound quality is very acceptable for the price but isn’t quite as good as the last pair of 170 headphones that he lost but that was to be expected and the noise cancelling is quite efficient.
The battery lasts well so these are a good value purchase.
Love these, except I didn’t realise you don’t have the option to also use them plugged in. They have great noise cancelling and sound quality and the battery life is amazing! I still haven’t charged them and use about two hours most evenings, I have had them weeks. They are very comfortable on the ears and they lie flat when not wearing which is what I needed
I’m no tech expert but these are easy to use & easy to set up. Sound quality is fine for my purposes. I’ve used them for zoom calls & listening on phone. The battery life is excellent. I remain a bit confused by flashing green lights, but the controls on the headset is an added bonus.
I bought these on a whim as I was thinking about buying either beats or Bose/apple. However, I’m so glad I purchased these for a fraction of the price and they are a stunning colour, I haven’t had them off since I purchased them and found Amazon stocks them for a lot less as I saw them in costco for over 100. I would recommend these headphones, they are not complete noise cancelling but I think it’s safer that way anyway.
I bought these for my boyfriend for our anniversary. He goes to the gym 5 days a week and was getting frustrated using his airpods. After some research I saw these headphones looked worth it and my god they are!
The headphones are soft and lightweight so very co.fortabke to wear. The battery life is insane! My boyfriend uses these headphones 5-6 days a week and he still hasn’t had to charge them yet! We bought these in February (we’re now in April!) The packaging is no s a sleek not too bulky. If you wanted a decent pair of headphones without it costing an arm and a leg I highly suggest these !
I use this every day, I recommend this to everyone who doesn’t want to purchase expensive headphones. The sound quality is amazing, and fits wonderfully, I would talk about battery life for ages. One charge lasts about a week or two with almost 2-3 hours of usage every day. Sometimes my housemate calls me up and I cannot hear them. You can also adjust the sound settings and create your own profiles on their app. When I get a call on my phone, it automatically switches from my Mac to my iPhone when I receive the call. The price is affordable for a Uni student and it’s worth more than the price.
It comes in a cardboard box with instructions on how to use it, a charging cable which is Type C and the headphone itself. Other than there is a warranty card and explanation on how to claim incase of faulty product. It is very easy to connect with your phone or laptop, just search using your Bluetooth and it will showup in a second or two. Connect it and you are ready to use the product! Sony headphone app is not mandatory but if you are like me who loves to be very specific about audio levels then it can really helpful.
Overall, these headphones offer great value for the price.
I purchased these headphones for use in the gym and wasn’t sure what to expect at this price point. However I have been very impressed. For the money the build quality is very good, they are very comfortable, helped by the soft padding and being very light at 147g. The real killer is the Sony app this allows you to tune the sound to your personal taste and made a huge difference after a bit of experimentation i was able to achieve a sound that to my preferences was very good. I have used these when running and not had any issues with them at all, they ares so light they just stay where you put them.
I’ve not tested the battery life but so far they appear to be living up to their 50hr advertised battery life.
These really show what someone with Sonys experience of headphones can do at a very reasonable price point. This makes me wonder what their top of the range WH1000MX5s are like. Perhaps time to upgrade my old Bose I use for normal listening!
I’ve been using these wireless headphones for seven weeks.
The Pros:
– The sound quality is very good for the price and is much better than the now discontinued Sony WH-CH500, which was rather tinny in tone. The CH520 reproduces music and media sound with fidelity. Note that I never use headphones for voice calls so I can’t comment on the efficacy of this unit for taking/making calls.
– Not much noise leakage.
– The headphones are very light and, once they have been carefully adjusted, they sit lightly on the ears and don’t cause discomfort. I’ve worn them for hours without experiencing any soreness.
– Battery life is good. I leave mine turned on all day and then recharge them at night.
The Cons:
-The headphones are not robust and would likely break if placed under physical stress. This means that they need to be taken carefully off the head using both hands and then placed where they won’t be harmed by knocks and shocks. These are budget headphones so my guess is that Sony decided to cut costs by reducing build quality while enhancing sound quality. You get what you pay for.
– No noise cancelling.
– The headphones are dualpoint and not multipoint. You can connect them simultaneously to two devices only.
Overall, four stars.
I bought these headphones as my original pair had bitten the dust, I have had them quite a number of years. Well I decided to purchase a slightly more expensive pair and so far so good. They are comfy and easy to use. Sound quality is great, so much better than my previous pair.
Nothing stands either way- there are no noticeable flaws but also no noticeably incredible features.
Overall I’d say they’re a solid choice- performance is solid for the price and they look nice. The uncomfortability is a drawback but not necessarily a dealbreaker. If I was considering buying them now, having used them for a few months, I’d probably still do it, although the comfort might make me hesitate.
I have a fairly big head and they never seem to fit comfortably. The pads are not the big over ear ones. It’s not a huge issue, but it can be quite annoying
Sound is good, pretty standard for headphones like this. I haven’t noticed it either way. If you’re someone who actively seeks great sound quality then these probably aren’t what you’re looking for.
Noise cancelling (there is no Active Noise Cancelling) is decent, again fairly standard for this.
They look nice.
The buttons are easy to use and useful; volume up and down, skip/go back songs, pause, and bluetooth connect can all be done fairly easily.
There is a phone app which I downloaded and haven’t used since. The only thing I remember on there was presets, if that’s useful to you.
I love these headphones.
I’m a musician and sound engineer and deal with high-end studio audio equipment, so sound quality and how sound files translat to a pair of consumer headphones, is something I’m very interested in, and these are a great pair of consumer headphones that give a really good all-round balanced sound with plenty of bass response and nice top end
Cons : The built-in sounds were much better in the previous version. They also turn themselves off after a certain amount of time, which is something I didn’t expect ( the previous version didn’t ), and I got so used to listening to music and getting a call while continuing to use the mic on my headphones during the call. It felt very fluid and the music continued as the call ended.
With these, I’m having to power them back on again while the phone is ringing and hoping I don’t lose the call. They probably think it’s great that they conserve more battery, but for me personally, it’s impractical.
The sound is awesome though, and I think I’ve bought these headphones 4 times now. I’ve only had to replace them because, although they’re surprisingly robust and I fall asleep with them on all the time, sometimes I push them too far and they’ve snapped. They are however, very resilient to normal levels of bumps and knocks.
They’re very comfortable to wear for long periods of time, and feel very snug and perfectly angled to project the sound directly into the ear. Can’t fault the sound. That’s why I’ve now bought 4 pairs of these over the years. Can’t go wrong with Sony.
Bad puns aside, this product is right on the money. I think its fairly priced for the decent sound quality and sleek look. Battery life is a plus but noise cancellation is average however these are not advertised as noise cancelling headphones. i brought these for zoom calls and it works well for that and audiobooks. I would reccomend these for teenagers, children and those who just want to listen to music. they cant compete with 150 headphone for features and sound quality but id be happy with these as a casual.
Overall a good product, sound battery life etc. The big problem I have is that the ear pads are relatively small and as I wear spectacles the pads press the sides against my ears.
This product is actually very good, and would love to give this as a gift to a friend. One minor problem that I have is that you have to jump through hoops to connect it with your laptop. And then jump again through another hoop if you want to reconnect it to your phone. Honestly, very sad.
Great headphones, value for money is great! Really easy to connect just via Bluetooth you don’t need any apps etc. Lightweight and the volume is great too, they block out all sound and no matter how loud you have them you won’t disturb others as the sound doesn’t travel. I rarely charge them and they’ve never died on me, I charged mine around 9 days ago and I’m still on 50%. Only thing that would make these better is if you could fold them down like some other headphones.
I was looking to get a pair of quality headphones that don’t cost a fortune – so far so good with these ones! I like that they are like with a snuggly fit though not too tight; they connect easily to my phone via Bluetooth and the sound quality is pretty great. Although they are not advertised as noise cancelling, I’d say they do a pretty good job at shutting out outside noises too. And finally, they are easy to carry around the neck since the lower part rotates. My only disappointment is that they didn’t come in any pouch or case, so now I need to invest more money into this too.
I have tried so many different headphones this week I think my ears have jet lag.
Some were well over twice the price of these, and about a quarter as good; sp putting these on, fresh from the box, and playing some crisp, well produced, Steven Wilson music – an extraordinary technical studio engineer and record producer, know for his attention to detail – and the result is as I hoped.
The sound stage is good – although I’ve known better in much higher end headphones – and the music is crisply presented.. perhaps lacking slightly in bass, but good enough, and sparkling and responsive in the middle and upper rangers.. And so clear, the much more expensive pair I bought sounded like I was listening through balls of cotton wool in my ears.
If you want some good budget end headphones which punch way beyond their weight with thieir sound, these are for you
They seem fairly well made and comfortable – but I’ve only been listening to them for 10 minutes so far …. headphones should be ‘run in’ for at least 40 hours before they start to sizzle properly – or so I understand – so I shall expect them to get even better.
My normal go-to for portable BT audio is noise-cancelling earbuds (Earfun are the current kings), but it’s handy to have a pair of simple on-ears when you don’t need – or want – to shut the noise pollution of the outside world away. These replaced a pair of Soundmagic BT on-ears that basically disintegrated one day, and after an initial uncertainty about the sound quality I’m now a solid convert. The key turned out to be the Sony Headphones Connect app, specifically the customised equalizer function. This guided me through building settings that I’d never have managed myself (turns out my high-end hearing is, ah, old), but resulted in clear, rich sound. I’m no great audiophile, but this sounds great for my music (classical and rock) and speech (audiobook and podcast) needs, and I’ve worn them comfortably for hours at a time, not something I could say for other on-ears I have used. Seriously tempted to invest in a pair of XM4s now…
One star off for not being able to fold them, though the cups do rotate flat, and for a complete lack of moisture resistance. IPX3 should be a basic requirement for this kind of stuff!
Bought these for my daughter who needed a pair because she keeps breaking wired ones and enough was enough. Anyway I tried these out first and to be honest I found them to be comfortable lightweight and well built. The sound quality is really good deeps mids and highs all nicely balanced for my ears. Voices on podcasts are crisp and clear and music just sounds great. I found them to have a nice balance of tones. A full charged battery lasted about a week with 2 or 3 hours use a day.
Daughter loves them what more can I say.
For the price point these are really good value but some so called audiophiles might disagree and find fault with them. For me I can’t find any faults and it was money well spent.
I bought these as I wanted lightweight headphones with a good battery life, that would also be noise cancelling for my commute. I got the blue ones and love the colour. The battery life is good too, sound good for audio books and they are reasonably comfy though the earpieces are not huge. As for noise cancelling – where is it? No active noise cancelling I can work out, and the app they suggest you download is pretty pointless. I’ll stick with them for now but I will be seeking out a replacement very soon.
Bought these for the gym as could not get on with in ear phones.
I find them for the price very good indeed, they keep most of the sound of the gym out, don’t move around or fall off. So far no sweat problems and let them air dry once home.
So the most important thing of all, what do they sound like. I am working mine off an mp3 player not a phone, had no issues at all, the sound is very good and I am really fussy around my music. I had to set the bass down on the mp3 on its personal settings, and found it to be magic even on nearly full sound, no distortion.
As always time will tell, if they keep going as they are for a couple of years they will indeed be a really cost effective sound system.
BEST THINGS:
– battery life has been over two weeks with around 2hrs of use each day
– the headphones tell you the battery percentage every time you turn them on which is a lot better than just waiting for them to die or make a noise that tells you they need charging
– reliably stay on your head when moving about (I use these while at the gym)
Worst things:
– like many other on-ear headphones they can hurt your ears after extended use. I go to the gym for 2 hrs everyday and experience little discomfort tho
– sound quality is ok. I’d expect slightly better for the price but way better than my wireless earphones (20)
This Sony headset is simply Awesome. I needed a new set badly, but I also needed a set with excellent volume, since I have psoriasis in my ear canals, which reduces the levels of hearing volume (in my case 20% in each ear). The volume on this headset is superb, and, I tested their volume range by going out and around the back yard for times when lawn mowing/gardening and hanging washing on the line. Absolutely perfect volume, even thro Two brick walls!
They are comfortable to wear, and really do have noise reduction, so much so that I had to take them off to hear my husband speaking. The controls are on the right ear pad shown as a red dot inside the band, and the left is a white dot. You can control the sound volume thro the controls for that function.
Another thing that I was worried about is that I am petite and have a small head, but that concern was put to rest by not extending the head band. Again a perfect, snug and comfortable fit. When you turn them on there is a voice activation which tells you the battery level strength; you can also pause a video or podcast thro the right ear pad, and restart a video/podcast again with the same function; so, if you are away/in yard, from the laptop when a video, music etc finishes you can turn the headset off from the ear pad control so as not to waste the battery.
I have immediately ordered another headset for another family member. I would very highly recommend this Sony headset. I am so very happy with this purchase!
I bought these as I wanted some headphones for gaming, as I play CODm on my phone and my earphones were breaking. I also wanted to be able to charge my phone and play, rather than having my wired earphones in and then having to speak through my phone (no one can hear me properly). I can’t use my wireless earphones as my friends can’t hear me through them, either.
The reason I dropped a star is because there’s a slight lag between what’s actually happening on the game and the headphones. E.g if you slide on the ground then you’ll hear it around 0.5s later. It’s not too bad of a lag, so I can deal with it. But I’d have hoped it would be in sync.
But my friends can actually hear me speaking, unlike with my wireless earphones!
Also, I don’t know whether this is my phone or the headphones, but you can’t connect them to Bluetooth prior to going on the game. If you do, and have your microphone turned on to speak, it will go back to playing through your phone. You have to connect them whilst you’re already on the game. It’s probably a phone thing.. but just a heads up!
Music wise.. these are really good! They’re also really loud so be careful . I accidentally had my volume on full blast, didn’t realise, played a song and.. wow it hurt .
Battery wise.. they’ve got SUCH good battery life. I’ve had them about two weeks and I’ve only just had to charge them. And that’s with me playing my game for 5/6hrs in the evening/night, playing music whilst travelling and wearing them to learn a language. And they arrived at 70% battery and still lasted 2 weeks!
When the battery got to 20% it told me it had low battery. I put them on charge for 10/15 minutes and they were back to 70%.
I also prefer headphones over earphones as I’ve got such tiny ears that earphones pop out no matter what size bud I use, and I have to keep fidgeting with them. It’s especially annoying with wireless earphones as I accidentally pause everything whilst pushing them back in .
There’s buttons on these on the underneath of the right side (they tell you R and L on the inside) for on/off, FF/RW/volume +/volume -.
The ear bits do twist inside too. But if you have long hair, like me, your hair can get caught in it.. so just be wary of that.
Noise cancellation wise.. they’re not noise cancelling. BUT if you have music playing/you’ve got music on a game.. then it does make it very hard to hear anything. I have to have one side off as I have kids I need to listen out for, and when my husband tries to speak to me whilst I’m playing a game it’s hilarious as I cannot hear him .
I wasn’t looking for noise cancelling as I do have kids. So this is a non-issue for me.
If you’re a gamer and don’t mind a slight lag, and you listen to music whilst travelling.. go for them. I am really happy with the purchase, even with the small amount of cons!
