Really enjoyed playing this game with family, Big Potato do some really interesting and refreshing concepts for games that prevents the dreaded Monopoly board coming out.

The premise is one person tells the truth and everyone has to lie to convince the person reading the card that theirs is the truth. The scoring system is a bit complicated than a standard game but you get the hang of it.

Some questions could have done to be a bit more obscure to prevent someone already knowing the answer. For example, one was Walt Disneys first character which I already knew as Oswald the Rabbit. I think once you’ve heard this you’ll always remember it so it’s a bit of a waste of question (although there are plenty).

Sadly our Red Herring fish (the truth fish) had a mark out of the press making it obvious who has it so we’ve had to hide the fish until the last minute to prevent it from being obvious.

I bought this as a present for my girlfriend’s parents as they’re massive card and board game lovers.

The game is super fun and enjoyable, and can be picked up by most very quickly and easily. Just a task of saying whats on the back of the guessers card if you’re a true blue kipper, or making an answer up along the theme of the real answer if you’re a red herring.

Would recommend this game to anyone that enjoys having a nice party game that’s great for playing with family and friends, or bringing to a youth club.

This is the type of quick game that you play while trying to decide on the bigger game you want to play.
As always their packaging and materials for everything used is perfect.
The premises of the game itself are decent and fun, some questions/answers however could of been looked at a little more.

Lots of fun, as in thinking about what to say often forget that you’re the one to tell the truth so everyone folds up into laughter.

I’ve had a few different Big Potato games now and they never disappoint! Loved this one. One tip for gamers would be to all pick a fake answer before selecting your fish so the one who has to be the red herring doesn’t get caught out! Makes it easier for older kids to play fairly too then!

A good family game, maybe not for young kids unless they are very quick thinking, lots of laughs. My 13 year old asks to play every day and it’s the new favourite of all the games we own.

This is such a great game for all ages (teenagers and oldies included). BUT, be careful with the fishes because they can be easily marked or bent thus you can easily spot which card is the real one. We ended up making the guesser turn around and then we chose the cards and hid them. It’s a fun game though

We had great fun playing this Christmas day after dinner, kids and adults of all ages, even teenagers all had a great laugh and so shocked at the actual correct answers!

This game was absolutely brilliant on Christmas day for fun with every family member – from my 10 year old nephew to my 81 year old mum. We had so many giggles and laughter, I highly recommend it. Also as a designer I was really drawn to the visual appearance of the fish – very stylish too.

Very fun game for the whole family, as you can play with everyone at once! I just wish there were more cards as you go through them quite quickly with how many people can play, but other than that, it’s amazing!

I bought this product for my partner as she is really into games and puzzles. It made an ideal digest for apres-Christmas evening tea. And we all got a good laugh out of it, especially at those who took a while to get the idea. I’m rubbish at it, as I find it impossible to keep a poker face.

Wouldn’t really recommend for travellers as a lot of small bits. (We didn’t bother with them though happily played without them)
Gets people thinking and guessing, learn facts. Enjoyable game

Have now bought 3 of these as demand was so high from the rest of the family

Brilliant game, easy to pick up and great fun to play with your friends or family. Expansion packs would’ve great if you play the game quite a lot as you’d get to know the right answers. Highly recommend even just for calling out the liars in the family!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe game is great fun and have great laughs at the answers but unfortunately once you know the answer that card is no good to use again as you’ll know who’s the red herrings are.
It would be great if you could buy extra cards as we’ve nearly got through all the cards.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersPlayed this around a friends house, mixed ages between 22 and 56, had the most fun. The scoring is a little complicated to keep up with especially as we were drinking as well, simplified it and it worked great. Highly recommend for gatherings and social evenings, came home and ordered my one straight away.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWhen i first went to open the game i noticed there was a second security sticker that’d already been cut so i was skeptical that i’d been scammed. However i opened and found everything as it should be so don’t know what was going on.
Good game. I found the points system a bit of a faff to remember but otherwise a hit.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good game for families
