Buy this every year its great grass good coverage and when it grows its lively and give you a real good thick lawn .Great for the sprogs to play on and the dogs to lay on. Fantastic stuff
We moved in to spil and weeds, de weeded and turned the soil. Added this grass seed just before autumn, we have a lovely thick coverage, it started growing in 2 days, we have had to mow twice since.
Started using this for oversewing in spring and autumn and the grass is such a lovely fresh green and quite fine. This year I have used it to create a new lawn in a different place and the growth rate was incredibly fast and even.
After spreading, I gently rake it in to stop birds feating on the bounty and it worked a treat.
Highly recommended.
i planted it one day and for like 4 days i was thinking, “ah damn it aint growing i wasted my money”, then on like the 5th day little grass sprouts started growing everywhere, i barely even watered it and didnt even need to buy soil and on week 2 it was all fully grown and it might actually be the greenest grass ive seen.
But if your garden is big or even medium you need to buy a bigger size cus i could only do half my garden, and im growing the other side now
I ordered this back in June while sorting out the garden and placement of many outdoor toys and a 10ft pool! Thursday last week I finally got round to moving the pool from this back part of the garden, i tossed the wet mud and just threw these seeds around with my little boy so as you can imagine very randomly threw! Today after 6 days i took a look over at the mud part to much surprise grass is growing!
I wont lie i did not have much hope with these seeds as many other brands just havent worked due to two dogs and a toddler! but these have blown my mind! Once these patches grow abit bigger i shall be buying more for all the random patches in the garden!
Update! Its now been about 3 weeks since throwing these seeds down and they keep growing!
I was very sceptical about the reviews for this product but as I was desperate to heal my lawn I thought I’d give it a try. I had about 9 smallish & bare holes in my lawn where my dog had skidded when chasing a tennis ball. I mixed a handful of seed with some topsoil mixed it together & filled each hole with several layers of this mix but flattening down each layer before I placed another. I didn’t cover the holes with any protection. Imagine my amazement when some 10 days later there was considerable new lawn growth in each patch & now a week later it’s quite difficult to see where the bare latches were. I intend to order more of this seed so my dog can chase her tennis ball wherever she likes as I now have a perfect repair ‘plan’.
Delivery was prompt
I bought a small bag for a patch in my back garden, oh boy was I surprised, it grew so fast and looked so green and velvety.
I then decided to do my front lawn, so ordered a kilo this time, I weeded, scarified and airated it ( well, pogoing up and down several thousand times with a garden forkoh my poor back!) 9 hours later and the sun going down it was time to scatter the seed.
Giving it a good liberal scatter (and 10 hours after starting) I watered it, and every night since, when it wasn’t due for the storms, and less than a week later, it sprouted!
From here on in the grass is coming up like crazy, and again is looking so good.
I’d most definitely buy this again and recommend it to anyone, especially if you’ve had trouble getting other seed to grow.
In one word, it’s ACE!
I put some seeds on my bear patches and covered with some soil , watered every day and have grass shoots after only 6 days.
Excellent seed, does exactly what it’s supposed to! Filled in the bare patches, unfortunately didn’t take before pics
Worked great. As you can see in the photos. Went from mud to grass in 3 weeks. Yes there is patchy bits that will need seeding again but really impressed. I Rototiller the ground, rake and seed. Water daily and added some miracle-gro water soluble grass feed
Our grass was wrecked what with dogs, kids and generally not looking after it. It had more Baldy areas with a few tufts of grass between the dandelions. We were considering just buying new turf but in the mean time I thought I’d just put some seed down to try and make a bit of improvement. Within 2 weeks I could see new growth in areas that has not seen grass for years. So I bought a bigger bag and spread over the whole garden went on holiday and forgot about it and when I returned it looked like a different garden. I am by no means a gardener and just threw it and left it so it was that easy and the seeds grow into really nice luscious grass. If really recommend this product.
Would’ve uploaded more photos but the Amazon app is rubbish.
Proper test to see if these seeds are any good. Done the lazy way to see how good they really are… Oh and because i am lazy.
My lawn was absolutely buggered, more mud then grass.
Starting ~mid April:
I started by giving the lawn a quick rake to bring anything dead up.
Didn’t measure out the seads, i literally just threw them as if i was feeding the ducks at the local pond. See photo of biggest bald batch with seeds thrown down for density
Watered almost every day that it didn’t rain, left a sprinkler on for ~5 minutes while making my morning cuppa.
It took about 3 weeks to see any germination.
After another 3 weeks it was coming through thick and fast, did my first mow, on second highest setting. (Total 6 weeks after throwing the seeds on the ground – see before and after photo)
Couple of months later my lawn has never looked so good!
Dont waste your time measuring out or airating, let nature take its cause.
The picture was taken 6 weeks after first sowing , two overseeds and one cut. Will definitely buy again.
I used 2kg bag on around 20sqm after 6-7 days I started to see seedlings sprouting. Now at 9 days the whole area has around 30mm grass growing
I attempted to sew this seed at the end of February, then the frost hit. I thought it would all die but in the middle of march it started shooting and now after about 6 mows it’s looking great.
Good grass seed, have placed it in several areas and now got some amazing new grass!
I bought a bag of grass seeds on the 11th of June, the picture is from today, the 18th of June. You can see for yourself. Lovely result, highly reccomand!!
My dogs had ruined my grass, I decided to hoe it all and start again. In 6 weeks my lawn is looking amazing. I have recently filled in some patches which are growing like mad in this weather. This is the best lawn seed I’ve ever bough
In spring I bought some turf for a large area on my lawn and bought the seed for the gaps. During the dry spell most of of my lawn has gone brown apart from the areas where I seeded. I will be buying again nex
I’ve been using seed from another supplier and it never germinates well .. I thought it was me doing something wrong…till I tried this seed …wow fantastic germination rate … Nice thick grass .
very good covered bare areas very quickly and grows rapidly when you cut it very good buy
Planted, covered with a plastic sheet, checked after a week – it is all coming out!
A further month after… Very strong and thick grass, growing in a partial shade under very tall conifers, where the grass was destroyed by the tree and cats, much faster that the established centre of the lawn. Nice! Will be re-seeding the centre with the same stuff!
The secret is to keep it covered with a plastic sheet for a week or two. I also added “seed start” fertiliser, some garden lime, and turned over the soil with a spade. The grass is so strong that it might suppress any weeds (I have plenty of clover around).
2 weeks in and didn’t expect this already! Had some rain and sunshine, few days it had no watering as we were away and it didn’t rain… Was nice to come home to.
Will see if it thickens or might need to buy another bag for more cover… Never done this before so will wait and see… Am hoping it thickens to a nice even covering
Used a pack on approximately five squared meters – germination took about two weeks and it’s growing well. No complaints from me given the bargain price.
Fantastic results! We have dogs and the grass suffers every winter with them and the weather plus our footprints. Early spring we sectioned off part of the garden, spiked it and then spread the seed mixed with compost. We’ve had snow and all sorts of weather since. Once it had started to grow we added a second round of seed and now the weather has really started to warm up we’ve seen great results as you can see. The other half of the garden suffered more because we are only using that side, but I’m certain in a few weeks we’ll have our lovely lawn back for the summer. The key has definitely been to section it off to give it a chance to regrow and if we have to do it again next year we’ll start later because another area we have sown has grown so much more quickly having only been sown in later spring. I’ll have to update you again about if it’s truly hardy for dogs and sprogs! PS. We also laid mesh over the main walkway which has made a massive difference too.
Back in the summer I dug up a tired old garden path across our lawn and wanted to return it to grass. Having levelled the ground I trawled through Amazon to find some grass suitable for my use. We have a long garden, and a border collie, Storm. Storm can get up to quite a speed and the path/new grass section is right where she slams the brakes on before ploughing into the hedge at the bottom of the garden. I needed the grass to be resiliant to the braking and turning forces of a very agile young border collie. I thought “sprogs and dog hardwearing” were all words I wanted to hear.
I followed the instructions and sprinkled out the grass. I only had a 4m long stretch x 0.5m so not a huge amount, and I’ve got lots of seed left over. In fact, it’s come in handy to patch up areas where Storm has gone for a wee and killed the grass.
I wanted to protect it from the hundreds of birds that visit our garden every day so I laid the grass and then used an insect protector anchored down with some tent pegs and waited.
A few weeks later and my former path had become a lush lawn once more. The colour doesn’t quite match the existing lawn, although that’s a hybrid of all sorts of grass and moss so that doesn’t bother me. It took around a week in the height of summer (just as we had a heat wave, typically) before the grass germinated. I spinkled the area with a light dusting of hose water morning and evening, and before long the grass was starting to come through. It was 3-4 weeks before I would say it was a fully lawned area, but I’m pleased with it.
The dog has been darting all over the place on it ever since. I laid the grass in late July and as we enter into November it looks lush and full despite Storm’s best efforts.
