STANLEY STHT0-51309 16oz Fiberglass Curved Claw Hammer, 450g
STANLEY STHT0-51309 16oz Fiberglass Curved Claw Hammer, 450g
Claw Hammer Design
There are two types of claw designs, a curved claw end which is perfect for removing and prying nails and the ripping claw, which is ideal for pulling up floorboards or ripping out unwanted studwork.
Overstrike Protection
Overstrike protection provides added protection and greater durability to key vulnerable areas of the shaft of the hammer which might get exposed whilst in use.
Weight
The weight of the hammer will affect the amount of force and striking power required to embed larger nails. A 20Oz hammer in comparison to a 16Oz would be better suited for driving larger fixings above 75 mm and vice versa a 16Oz hammer would be better suited for fixing smaller nails.

We ordered this as a gift for someone, they keep borrowing ours, & it looks exactly what we wanted, in fact we did think of keeping it & giving them our old one , but it’s for Christmas as a bit of a joke. Definitely will be getting one for hubby to replace his old one though
As any builder/handyman knows, we all have a favourite hammer but these things are subjective. I have a dozen hammers but this is probably still my favourite due to the weight and balance.
I purchased a hammer from a local store for about the same price and that one broke within the first couple of hits. It was seemingly not real metal top bit and it cracked when I hit a bigger nail. Just split in half
I needed a good one and found this with good reviews
Reviews aren’t lying, the item seems very reliable. The handle is comfortable and with the rubber, gives a good grip. It is heavy and sturdy.
Good purchase
I want for a heavy one to give my lack of strength some extra oomf. Perfect: obviously it is heavy but the quick despatch of nails is worth the weigh
Buy cheap, buy twice… not with this one! Stanley make good quality products and this is no different. Ergonomic handle design that is comfortable and wont cause fatigue. Both hammer and claw are of great quality and i cant see this breaking in my lifetime!
A* product, would definatly buy agai
I bought this hammer to use in work as I am an electrician it has quickly become an indispensable part of my projects. I find the the grip on this hammer is outstanding, providing a secure and comfortable hold that enhances accuracy and reduces strain. Whether swinging with force or working in tight spaces, the grip is reliable and I am always in control.
So if you are looking for a hammer with good grip and precision face I highly recommend.
A nicely weighted and solid feeling hammer. Wouldn’t expect any less from Stanley. The grip has a nice feel as it’s not rock hard but that may mean it will deteriorate quicker over time compared with a leather or more solid handle. Would recommend
Bought this hammer on a Black Friday sale as I needed a new one for doing basic DIY around the house, same with every Stanley item I have it doesn’t fail to meet any expectations!
This hammer hasn’t broken yet after a fair pounding, Rips nails out and puts nails in. I would buy this instead of the little claw hammers, unless you’re putting pictures up and don’t like holes in the drywall. I also cant see this holding up against a more expensive framing hammer for building houses.
