As you would expect from Stanley, this is a well made metal tape that is easy to pull out for measuring and can be clipped open for easier operation over longer distances by a single user. The case is soft-grip and comfortable to hold. A good size in terms of tape length and case for domestic and professional users.
One of the standout features of the STANLEY TYLON Tape Measure is its durability. The tape’s blade is constructed with high-quality materials that can withstand heavy use and resist bending or twisting. This ensures longevity and reliable performance, even in demanding work environments. The solid build quality of the tape measure instills confidence in its ability to provide accurate measurements consistently over time.
The tape measure’s wide 25mm blade offers increased stability and ease of reading. The bold and clear markings on the blade, coupled with the reliable locking mechanism, ensure precise and error-free measurements. The tape’s standout feature allows for easy identification of measurements, enhancing efficiency and reducing potential errors during use.
The ergonomic design of the STANLEY TYLON Tape Measure adds to its user-friendly nature. The comfortable grip and smooth retraction mechanism make it easy to extend and retract the tape without any resistance. The tape’s positive lock feature keeps the blade securely in place when extended, providing stability for accurate measurements. The overall design allows for comfortable handling and reduces strain during extended use.
Additionally, the tape measure’s 8-meter length offers ample reach for a variety of measuring tasks. Whether measuring small distances or longer stretches, this tape measure provides the necessary length to accommodate different projects. The compact size makes it easy to carry and store, ensuring it’s readily available whenever needed.
Once my testosterone and adrenaline levels had reduced to a safe level, I investigated further. I consider myself a tape measure expert, being fully adept at pulling and retracting the measuring tape in an efficient manner. Those new to tape measure should beware though. You need to have the guts to start measuring with this beast. I suggest those new to tape measures use metric to begin with, then move on to the newer “imperial” measurement method once comfortable. You might get away with saying 98cm to a city boy, but you need to be comfortable saying 3 foot and 5/8ths of an inch if you want to get real respect.
Although the tape is advertised as 26 feet long, I believe it to be infinite. I’ve wrapped it three times round my house now with no signs of the tape diminishing. Granted, it’s a bungalow, but it does have a loft conversion.
The final strawberry on the icing on the cake is the handy clip that allows you to attach it directly to a belt. Being right-handed, I keep it on the right side, so I’m always ready to measure. It did mean I had to move my phone holster to my left side, but it’s a small price to pay. In fact, I’m finding I get called day any night now, being asked if I “wouldn’t mind” measuring something for them. Of course, it’s really just a rouse on their part to get me round so they can look at my Stanley. But I don’t mind. I’m somewhat of a local star now, having appeared in the local newspaper. Actually, that was for something else…
So in summary, this is a life-changing addition to your toolbox/trousers. I’ll leave it up to you to decide whether you are tough enough to handle it.
