Effective protection of the tape measure.
When working in demanding environments, choose a Mylar coated tape measure that offers up to 10x more abrasion resistance than a painted tape. Top models from Stanley have an additional seal with Blade Armor – a thermoplastic coating at the beginning of the tape, which keeps it permanently protected even in the toughest conditions.
Horizontal stability.
The curved steel band – first developed by Stanley – offers high stability when extended without kinking. This allows one-handed work even if the band cannot be additionally supported from below. This is particularly helpful for measurements in raw and construction construction, such as in the construction of roof chairs.
Sliding end hook for greater accuracy
The end hook attached with strong rivets remains movable. It compensates for its own strength and allows accurate internal and external measurements. On some models, the end hook also allows for convenient marking or punching circles.
The tape dimensions of the FATMAX and FATMAX Pro series have a three-way hook that can be attached to the workpiece to be measured from the top, from the bottom or from the side.

Best tape I’ve got yet, gets just about a 3.5 metre reach freehang and magnetic head has helped replaced the need of a apprentice to hold the other end in place
Solidly built, strong tape even when extended, clear to read and a clip to attach to your belt/pocket etc.
Not the cheapest on the market, but if you want something that will last and ensure accuracy (the metal clip at the end WILL become loose on cheaper models) then this is a cracking tape to get.
Would definitely recommend.
Great robust tape measure, which comes with an interchangeable magnetic head which was stiff to remove or place at first but the more you use it the easier it becomes.
One minor issue if you can call it that this model only comes in metric measurement.
The tape seems sturdy enough and the interlocking hooks fit well enough but The pictures clearly show an imperial and metric tape which I was looking for the tape you get is metric only but to be fair if you read down it does say it is metric only to me it’s a bit confusing but as they say always say read the small print but I think it should be cleare
I’m using this type of tape measure for few years now and I like it more than others tape measures you can buy. Last one I had it for 3 years.
Excellent tape measure, nice and sturdy and love that it doesn’t retract without switching to retract button. The two accessory blades are great, the magnetic blade is very strong and works very well, the hook over blade might have worked well but it fell off at some point was lost. The accessory holder slots could be improved to enable the accessory blades to be held securely when not in use.
Love that it only has metric. It makes it much easier to read than tapes that have inches too.
Not cheap but well made and good to use.
One gripe – the mark on the tape body that shows the body width is in inches. That’s mental for a metric only ruler.
Great tape but you want to let it in in the spring isn’t strong enough to do that so you have to pull it in until the last couple of inches but great tape after tha
I’ve had a lot of cheap tapes over the years, and this just shows you get what you pay for.
I’ve been using this tape for 7 months now and it’s still going strong.
The magnet is strong on it, holding the tapes weight when hung from an RSJ (even though I’m sure thats not what it’s intended for). I found the changeable end a little superfluous, but perhaps thats just because I didn’t have a use for it and ultimately lost it.
All round a good metric only tape that lasts! Would buy again.

My mistake when selecting this was not realising it was metric only.
Although I am a decimal kid, I still have customers who quote me in inches do I have to get my phone out using a conversion app to calculate.
Again, my mistake for not paying attention when choosing, but no points off for the tape.
Love the additional hook too and the crazy strong magnetic end.
Easy to use tape, I like the self locking on the tape and it is easy to use. Downside to tape is that it has no inch markings and the magnet amd the extra size over hook is easy to lose when kept on the tape measure pockets as I’ve already lost the magnet to mine and i didnt even use it 🙁
I have been using this in an engineering workshop for a few months now and the tape is still in like new condition. I mainly use it for cutting on a metal cutting band saw which is a very oily and dirty task. Just treat your tools with respect and they will last you a long time. Very convienent tape for working on the saw and feels very durable.
Absolutely solid, weighs a ton! Wish i had got the 5m instead so it wasnt as heavy. Lock feature is decent but sometimes needs a bit of help to recoil. Overall it is a good tape measure, quality made and hard wearing.
In addition to the above I would say that having markings on the tape body saying “< + 3 3/8 inches" for the length of the body on a tape which is completely metric and marked in cm is just stupid why not 8.72 cm.
