This looks simply beautiful on XBox series X, and runs like silk. A great game, blighted only by some very frustrating moments where the mechanics get you stuck, I rage quit this game about 5 times before finally finishing it. A good game for long term value as there is loads you can go back and replay.

    Introduction:
In the ever-expansive realm of gaming, few franchises hold the enduring allure and mythos that Star Wars does. Having ventured deep into the narrative tapestry of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on the Xbox Series X, I find myself compelled to share my in-depth experience and insights on this latest installment. The journey is fraught with challenges and triumphs, mirroring the very essence of the Star Wars universe.

    Positives:

    1. A Hero’s Transformation Unveiled: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor beautifully extends Cal Kestis’ story beyond its predecessor. His evolution from an uncertain padawan to a seasoned Jedi Knight is nothing short of a cinematic treat. The narrative growth feels organic, and witnessing Cal navigate his path amidst adversity adds layers of depth to his character.
    2. Combat Redefined and Enriched: The return of the cinematic combat system is a welcome homecoming, but it’s the infusion of additional force abilities and lightsaber fighting styles that truly elevate the gameplay. Engaging in battles has never been more satisfying, as mastering iconic force abilities adds layers of strategy to confrontations, keeping me eager to experiment with diverse approaches.
    3. The Art of Exploration: A hallmark of the Star Wars universe is its vastness, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor wholeheartedly embraces this concept. The different planets, each with its own biome, challenges, and adversaries, create an immersive and awe-inspiring exploration experience. The game’s ability to make each world feel unique ensures that venturing into uncharted territories is a thrill.
    4. Augmenting Mastery and Versatility: The allure of mastering new skills, equipment, and abilities profoundly augments the core gameplay. Experimenting with different techniques and customizations encourages creative engagement with the environment and adversaries. The sense of empowerment that comes with discovering new ways to overcome challenges is exhilarating.

    Negatives:

    1. Undulating Waves of Difficulty: While the game excels in delivering dynamic combat, there are moments when difficulty spikes disrupt the flow. Certain encounters and battles can veer towards being excessively challenging, leading to bouts of frustration. A more balanced approach to difficulty progression would ensure a consistently enjoyable experience.
    2. Pacing Amidst the Stars: The narrative pacing in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor can feel uneven at times. Oscillating between moments of intense action and slower exposition can occasionally disrupt the narrative’s momentum. A smoother ebb and flow would enhance the immersion and emotional investment in the unfolding story.
    3. A Need for Deeper Connections: Despite the emphasis on reuniting with the Stinger Mantis crew, the depth of interaction with these characters falls slightly short. Elevating the depth of conversations and interactions could forge more profound bonds between Cal and his companions, enhancing the overall emotional resonance of the narrative.
    4. Navigational Constellations: Navigating through the game’s vast environments occasionally presents navigational challenges. Clearer markers for objectives or improved in-game navigation aids would alleviate moments of confusion, enabling players to fully embrace the joy of exploration.

    Conclusion:
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a symphony of lightsabers, the Force, and personal discovery that reverberates throughout the Star Wars universe. Cal Kestis’ journey is a testament to resilience and growth, and the gameplay seamlessly marries combat innovation with exploration splendor. While the journey is not without its trials, the strength of its positives triumphs over its negatives.

The evocative narrative and dynamic gameplay experiences interweave, inviting players to partake in an odyssey that encapsulates the very essence of hope and perseverance in a galaxy wracked by darkness. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor stands as a powerful testament to the indomitable spirit of the Jedi, echoing that even in the midst of chaos, there is an unyielding light that guides our way.

As I reflect on my profound journey through Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, I am reminded that this galaxy, much like our own, is a tapestry woven with moments of vulnerability and moments of triumph. The game’s ability to encapsulate these emotions speaks to the heart of storytelling, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have embarked on this unforgettable adventure.

I did have a few bugs at launch. However, they didn’t show too often. The story was kinda short but it was still very good. I loved the different fighting styles! I definitely recommend this.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI didn’t want to get too hyped up for this, as games (especially high profile sequels) have disappointed for many years now. However, Jedi Survivor lives up to the hype. It improves on the core mechanics of Jedi Fallen Order, more skills to use and more lightsaber styles, even though most people will hardly use certain styles and will stick to single and twin sabers as these seem to be the best.

Story is good, has a lot of twist and turns. Some good new characters also.

Also has a new game + which Jedi Fallen Order didn’t have! Which is very good.

Definitely get this if you are a Star Wars fan, or just looking for a very good, FUN and enjoyable game to play (remember when games were fun and not just online multiplayer stress fests?).

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHaving really enjoyed fallen order, I eagerly waited for jedi survivor. I patiently avoided all spoilers in the build up. So why four stars, firstly you can give half stars, so I rounded up to four. Ok the pros, fantastic high republic elements, some deep highly emotional dialogue, decent character development and fleshing out, enjoyable levels and combat. Now the cons, somehow felt smaller scale than fallen order, glitchy as hell, anticlimactic final level, unimpressed with character outfit customisation. I also felt the Darth Vader appearance felt bit disjointed, it should have either been more prominent or perhaps left out. I’d say it felt like a tick box sticking him in, yes his inclusion did lead to a very exciting and emotive sequence but he just appeared in the story mid way and the left mevrr to be seen again. As a lifelong star wars fan I have surfed the waves of good, bad, ugly and the mediocre games, books, films etc. Jedi survivor is among the better recent additions to the franchise, at least there wasn’t a gungan or porg in sight! Perhaps developers should give the fans something new and fresh, take a road less travelled.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our Users5 years after the last game our hero’s have moved on but still are trying to take down the Empire, this game has a bigger adventure ahead of you than the previous, its full of fan service all the way, great character developments, the story goes in a great direction with plenty action from beginning to end, as before you work your way through maps on different planets doing missions, the maps are huge! Much more to explore openly too in most areas, the puzzle element is still there too so expect plenty jumping around using force moves and wall jumping etc. The graphics on this game are stunning and there’s always so much to see in every planet from gorgeous scenery to Huge creatures and monsters to fight and of course cute friendly ones too. Bounty hunters, droids and even the awesome ability to ride and fly with creatures too. The camera mode is the best I’ve ever played with, you can capture amazing in-game shots anywhere you go (see images attached) This is absolutely a gaming experience you must have, if your a Star Wars fan or not its just amazing to play. I just wish it was bigger, I could spend forever running around these planets.

Plentiful fun achievements to unlock as you go, most fairly easy some will take a little time.
The game can be played on story mode which is very easy for casual gamers or the much harder setting if you care for more of a challenge.
Lots of upgrades and customisation to obtain for your lightsabre and droid BD-1.
An unhealthy amount of collectables to find throughout every part of every map, not necessary to complete the game but it will help with customisation.
You can use single lightsabre, Duel weld, double bladed or pistol, its your choice whenever.
Lots of characters to interact with and receive side quests.
Amazing new aliens and monsters and creatures to discover, plus lots of returning characters too.
Always make sure you use a save point whenever you leave the game of you will loose lots of progress.
You can now fast travel the maps from anywhere you have discovered a save point.

5.0 out of 5 stars "..STUNNING STAR WARS ADVENTURE.."
