The keyboard is truly outstanding; not only does it provide a delightful tactile experience, but its standout feature is the wrist support. Crafted from a wonderfully grippy rubber material, it’s a game-changer in daily usage.
The Lighting is great. You can set the lights nice and dim which is what I like. The keyboard is nice and quiet.
The sound wheel is superb. Perfect. Excellent Price
Brought as my work keyboard – the key presses are so lovely & it looks amazing. This is my favourite keyboard ever – you don’t run in clogs so why not type in luxury!!
The app lets you customise light sections, the volume roller is handy and it had a quality cable & fastener! I was indecisive about the price which seemed to fluctuate however I got it at a low point so was very happy!
Excellent keyboard for gaming and casual use. The RGB lighting is as attractive as it looks in the marketing material and the software to customise it is easy to set up and use. Very highly recommended all-round keyboard given its price point.
Easy set up, arrived on time.
Love the feel of the keys, very sturdy.
I’m very satisfied with this purchase
The keyboard is perfect, quiet not so noisy and it really comfy to use.
I’m liking this keyboard a lot. The typing feel is good and the RGB looks great. The software is not easily negotiable.
If you are a Razer fun but not a fun of Razer prices then this is for you.
The keyboard is excellent. No flex as others have claimed at videos on youtube. Super sturdy and has a good weight to it. It feels and looks much more expensive in person. The keys have a long travel. If you are coming from a basic membrane keyboard you will immediately feel the difference. I do like the more tactile feel although it takes some time to get used to it ( a couple of days). I love that it comes with a wrist resting thing which attaches magnetically like some fancy Razer keyboards. It is hard, not cushioned but it feels nice. It has a mat feel to it which will keep your hands in place. The RGB lights are really good and they are nicely diffused which makes it look expensive and slick. I am really glad I didn’t spend more for something more expensive. There is no need, even if you like nice things as much as I do. I am all about quality over value and this product manages to be both.
Simply the best keyboard ive brought in 20 + years. I have stuck with an old dell keyboard for a long time now as there hardcore, this is like that but slick as hell. Looks, feels and types great.
Looks amazing and feels like a premium keyboard without draining my bank accou
Incredible keyboard at a really nice price, it’s perfect sized, quiet, rapid fast responsive, and if you’re an RGB fan entirely customisable.
Don’t cheap out on a 20 keyboard, grab this and thank yourself late
Impressed. Normally buy budget but glad I went for something a but pricer. Impressed with the build quality. Looks great. Very comfortable to use. Would recommend.
I work from home and requires a lot of typing and its so nice to type o
Excellent price for such a quality keyboard. Important to note that keyboard is NOT mechanical. Very reliable keyboard with customisable rgb. Great budget option.
The software is dire, all these peripheral companies expect you to only buy their and teh software is a pain to use and has too many options for things i don’t have.
Currently using Signal RGB to manage the RGB stuff, before that set it one colour then uninstalled the software.
Some may find the keys tall if they are used to laptop type keys, i have no issue with them.
Reasonable value
Sturdy build, not the easiest to clean and as mentioned in the title could do with a bit of padding on the wrist rest could otherwise. Keys are amazing clicky mechanical but still soft and smooth so you can use for hours
As I am really fussy with my gaming equipment functionality and comfort wise, I went through several keyboards and mice throughout my years but found this keyboard to be on of the best budget keyboards I have ever owned. I had razer, microsoft and lg keyboards as well, but this tops all of them so far (talking about budget ones about the same price tags, not high end ones).
PROs: Really quiet buttons, the lights are really great as well and customizable, easily attachable wrist support with magnets and easy volume adjuster with the scroll button.
CONs: the wrist support was not comfortable enough for me personally, so I use a separate one instead and also the lights above the numpad aren’t really visible to see whether or not you have Caps lock on (unless you lean forward to shift your FOV), but that isn’t really a big issue I believe, just wanted to point out a possible design flaw.
All in all, well worth the money, feels high quality and a pleasure to type.
P.s. check if you want the UK or US version as they have slightly different button positioning (mainly either the Enter or the left Shift will be bigger)
I stupidly and accidentally bought the Nordic layout instead of this UK layout, as I was looking for SteelSeries keyboards and that’s the version that came up in Amazon search – I exchanged it for this one, anyway. Not sure why this is over 6 more expensive than the other one though.
I’m replacing my Logitech G213 Prodigy keyboard as I’ve had to have it replaced 3 times now due to keys not working properly, and this is the closest one I’ve found that is like that keyboard. The number pad was a must as I use my keyboard for both work and games, and the keys are fairly quiet (I didn’t want mechanical as it gets annoying if I’m typing a lot). I like having a palm rest too, to support my wrist while gaming etc. I will say though, the palm rest marks really easy. My photo was taken on the first day of using it. I don’t particularly get sweaty hands, but as it’s a rubber-like material, the skin contact leaves a mark. I do like that it’s magnetic and removable though.
I already have the SteelSeries software installed as I have headphones from them, so I could easily change the RGB LED backlighting to match the yellow theme in my office (although the camera doesn’t pick it up well). The keys are quite spaced out and firm to press, but I adjusted fairly quickly to both of these. I like that you can choose if you want the wire to come from the left, centre or right of the keyboard depending on your setup.
I never know when the caps lock etc is on because the LED light signal is hidden behind the number pad which you can only see if you lean over the keyboard. I’ve already noticed in my games where I’ve tapped caps lock and not noticed, so when I type quickly I end up with an aggressive ‘GG’. I’m not really a fan of the media button either, especially as it’s hard to press behind the number pad as the keys are high.
It is a nice keyboard but it has pros and cons. For the cons, I would expect it to be cheaper than 69.99. As for durability, I can’t say, but if I have any issues, I’ll update my review.
Its probably the best keyboard I’ve ever owned and its not the most expensive one I’ve purchased. The keys are chunky which I like, they are very silent. The detachable wrist rest is a nice touch and so is the wire routers in the back. The LED is gorgeous and has a good few options. I really like the metal volume adjust bar and the multi media key with the white LED horizontal line. So all in all, very good keyboard and would recommend a pick up, full price, sale whatever. Its worth the price.
Pros:
-SWITCHES. great. they’re a really nice type of membrane that feel really stable. better than any other membrane i’ve used. for someone used to a normal membrane this thing is amazing. for someone used to mechanical, it varies: in my opinion they’re a nicer version on the blues, they have a nice solid bump to press going down, the rubber makes them quiet but not squishy when they hit the bottom.
-TYPING. because of the solid bump they’re great for typing, nicer than mechanicals in my opinion
-GAMING. having tried out many keyboards for gaming i notice that you really can get used to any switches while gaming so that doesnt matter that much. dont notice any feeling of slowness or input lag. (warning: this item does not make you good at any game)
-QUALITY. everything but the wheel top right is made of a rubber coated plastic, high quality for price. nice rubber on all keyboard feet and wrist rest.
-KEYS. had this for a while now and none of the keys/switches feel any different or defected yet
-SPACEBAR. i have to give credit to the spacebar and the rest of the larger keys, they have amazing stability. the space probably wobbles less left to right than the other keys. that individual switch feels exactly like the rest which is rare on a keyboard on keyboards even above this price range.
-RGB. the rgb (lights) are great. supposed to be fully customisable with software but i think its bugged at the moment. no big deal though because default is fine. brightness can be turned down and off if you like that.
Cons:
-CAPS. any of the light beneath the logo top right for caps, number lock etc, cannot be seen without leaning over the keyboard because they’re positioned behind the base of the high switches. pretty irritating as you can imagine.
-MEDIA BUTTON. they media button below the wheel doesnt feel great (very hard press and not great quality. not that big of a deal worth mentioning.
-WRIST REST. although, a nice addition, nice metallic attachment, and nice heavily rubberized coating making it as comfortable as a hard slab of plastic can be, matte rubber coating picks up marks like crazy. i dont get particularly sweaty hands but after using it for like 5 mins marks a visible and after a long night-time gaming session, i have to wipe it down and all. if you want to use a wrist rest though, its worth getting a nice one aswell.
Conclusion:
amazing all round keyboard, would spend twice as much for it. if it wasnt for the cons.
Bought as a Christmas gift for my mum. She asked for a light up keyboard, but we went 5 steps further and bought this steelseries Apex 3. She has been working at home through the whole pandemic as she can’t get to the office and although this is designed for gamers she loves it. The wrist support, allows her to type for long periods of time more without much discomfort, and the light up feature alone, she says, has made her spend more hours at her desk alone because she can see!! Whether thats for the better or worse she loves it!!
Even though it is a tad high, using the provided wrist support makes it a very comfortable kb. (Btw, the wrist support is attached with a couple of magnets so it snaps in to place and detaches itself easely, super easy).
RGB zoning is a good enough, specially if you’re not planning in using super flashy setups (I always set mine to ‘breathing’ or ‘static’). So no per-key RGB, but going one model up gives you that if you wish so, but the type of key mechanism is different, as this is a membrane keyboard, which makes it a little more silent than mechanical keys, but there’s no option to chose from (as with mechanical kb which have different types of switches).
All in all, key stroke lenght is not overly deep so it’s quick enough for typing for most people and not bad for gaming (most likely for most people too).
The volume rocker/mute button works great, but it doesn’t have other dedicated media controls by default (except play/pause)
, but as the keyboard is customizable (per key) with the Steel Series Engine software, you can set different profiles and use the ‘M’ keys as media keys (it has 6 ‘M’ keys that double as INS, HOME, PG UP, DEL, END and PG DN, the M is activated by pressing the Steel Series key, like a Fn key) if it’s something you need. If pairing this kb with a SteelSeries mouse with customizable buttons, you can use those for media.
On the back it allows for the most convenient cable routing as it has locking clips to make the cable ‘exit’ the kb from any side or from the center. Nice little detail.
Price point is great as the quality is very good for an ‘entry level’ model, and despite having a plastic body it’s rigid enough. Only caveat I find is that keys are a little high, but it’s mainly a purely aesthetic opinion and my personal taste.
5 stars for now, will review in a couple of months with a use report.
