Easy, straight out of the box and sits on the top of the stove. Comes on automatically when it reaches the working temperature.
Can’t give a proper review as it was bought for my son. I have noticed that it is in situ on the stove so it’s obviously being used. He has never said anything to it’s detriment so have given 5 stars.
This was recommended by a chimney sweep. It works a treat.
Really value for money ,circulates the hot air great well worth the money .better to pay that little bit more for massive results.
Simply put it on the top of the fire and away it goes good value for the money
Product Review: Stove Fan – Wood Burner and Gas Fire Compatible
Rating: (4/5)
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Stove Fan for Wood Burning Stoves and Gas Fires, and overall, I found it to be a reliable and efficient addition to my fireplace. This fan offers a unique feature that allows it to work effectively on both wood-burning stoves and gas fires, which sets it apart from many other stove fans on the market. Here’s my review of this versatile product.
First and foremost, the Stove Fan’s compatibility with both wood-burning stoves and gas fires is its standout feature. This is a significant advantage for those who have both types of heating systems in their homes or for those who might switch between the two. The fan is designed to generate its power from the heat source, regardless of whether it’s burning wood or using gas. This flexibility adds convenience and value to the product, making it a practical choice for a wider range of users.
In terms of performance, the Stove Fan excels at efficiently distributing heat throughout the room. Once placed on top of the stove or fireplace, it starts automatically when the temperature reaches a certain threshold. The fan blades then begin to rotate, effectively pushing warm air away from the fireplace and into the surrounding space. I found that the fan significantly improved heat circulation, ensuring that the entire room was evenly heated.
The design and construction of the Stove Fan are commendable. The fan itself is compact and doesn’t take up much space on the stove or fireplace. It’s made from sturdy materials that feel durable and capable of withstanding the heat generated by the fire. The fan’s noise level is minimal, allowing for a peaceful and comfortable environment without any distracting sounds.
One aspect worth mentioning is that the Stove Fan can also be used on a gas fire. While it’s primarily designed for wood-burning stoves, I decided to test it on my gas fireplace, and it surprisingly worked well. Although gas fires produce less heat compared to wood-burning stoves, the fan still managed to spin and distribute a noticeable amount of warm air. While the performance might not be as robust as with a wood-burning stove, it’s impressive that the fan can adapt to different heat sources.
One area where the Stove Fan could be improved is the range of the airflow. Although it effectively circulates warm air within a reasonable radius, it may not be as efficient in larger rooms or open floor plans. However, this limitation is common among many stove fans on the market, and it’s important to consider the size of the room and the fan’s specifications when making a purchase decision.
In conclusion, the Stove Fan for Wood Burning Stoves and Gas Fires is a reliable and versatile option for improving heat distribution in your home. Its compatibility with both wood-burning stoves and gas fires sets it apart from other fans on the market. The fan efficiently circulates warm air, enhances heat distribution, and operates quietly. While its range might not be suitable for larger rooms, it remains a practical choice for most residential spaces. Whether you have a wood-burning stove, a gas fire, or both, this stove fan offers an effective solution for enhancing heat efficiency and creating a cozy atmosphere.
I purchased 2 of the fans for my log burner. 1 of the fans spins realy fast and distributes the heat great But the other 1 spins very slow and does not distribute the heat as it should. Please advise on a fix. Excellent customer service
Excellent looking fan. Very quiet almost silent operation. Great buy. Very fast delivery
Nothing to dislike as far as it goes. Simple, sturdy and doesn’t look ugly on the fire.
Perfect for our new log burner – pushes the heat from the back of the fireplace out into the room, it’s almost silent and air wash makes more noise than this little fan. Brilliant.
I have just completed my installation of a wood burner and bought this fan and it is great value and so easy to use, amazing how effective it is at circulating the heat into the room. No wires .just place on top of the stove it’s simplicity itself. Recommend this purchase.
Bought a different fan a few months back but not alot of heat came out. Bought this one and tried it out tonight absolutely brill. Would Definitely recommend this item
Placed on top of a gas stove, heat is only on low/medium and the fan spins at a reasonable speed. Higher temperature spins faster. Works rather well, recommended for anyone with an exposed gas fire, it’s not just for log burners
This is a great fan – we have a large burner in a large room and the heat tends to just drift up the stairs so it can be a couple of hours before you really feel the benefit! With a couple of these however, you can feel the heat as soon as the burner is hot.
The reviews that say “you can barely feel any air when you put your hand in front of it” … that’s not what this is designed to do… it’s not some kind of high powered blower heater! It just gently redirects some of the heat from the burner outwards instead of up, and does so very effectively! Thumbs up from me!
It does feel like there is a slight temperature increase in the room (it’s a bit room to be fair). Happy with it.
I bought this fan to replace a similar model that started to squeak and occasionally squeal (despite cleaning and silicone grease). It is well made, is good value for money, and spins like a whirling dervish. Arrived p[romptly and well packaged.
I have a very small wood burner in a conservatory which is about 2m x 6m. This fan is brilliant as it distributes the heat and makes the room stay warm longer. It probably wouldn’t work as well in a larger room.
Completely silent Not sure if the heat is driven out of the room as I had not taken the upstairs temperatures before and after, but does circulate the heat better downstairs . I like it.
Bought this fan to use with a small wood burning stove. Fan starts turning with just a fire log burning and once the stove heats up you can really feel 5he heat being spread around.
