The original needle had worn and lost sound on the left speaker, with the new needle the sound was restored. Fitting was easy and straightforward. The needles arrived in a sturdy little box in an envelope
My first time of exchanging a crosley stylus
Not as easy as YouTube videos say but very simple to do when you know how.
It took me approximately a minute and a half to change the stylus more aggravation getting the old one out on the first attempt .
Very good sound quality better than the aluminium ones.
I would definitely advise using this seller item was very good quality and sent fas
eeded a new needle for an older Ion (to MP3) record player and this did the job that is required. bring on the old vinyl for a new year’s 80’s party!!!
These have a proper metal cantilever and a rubber boot, Pulled the old needle off with my thumbnail and put one of these on tonight and gained some extra top end response from my Vinyl as the needle can now move properly in the groves of the record.
Works with the GPO deck , thing to note is other needles look as if they would fit the cartridge , so check your original needle first looking at where the plastic locating tabs are on the inside edge of the plastic surround , the raised pips locate in different places for similar cartridges , so to play safe order cartridge and needles as one purchase.
Prompt delivery, well packaged with a cardboard box that can be recycled. You get two styluses (or should that be styli!), which should keep me going for a while. This was the first time I had needed to get a new stylus for this record player; it was pretty straightforward to change the stylus.
good packaging, spare head plus extra needles, easy to replace, i was super scared about that but it was a piece of cake….. placebo is on the agenda.. followed by alkaline trio… and finish off with a little david bowie. cant go wrong 🙂
So I bought these for a record player brand called (1 by one) and they fitted straight away without issue. The quality of the sound through this needle is miles better than the original and would recommend to anyone looking to find a replacement needle.
I spent HOURS searching for the right type of stylus/needle… others that I bought I had to sand down the edges so it would fit. This fits PERFECTLY. If you have a Musicm8 player I recommend you buy this. My research finally paid off. It’s good quality, better than the universal one I bought perviously.
Was a bit fiddly to replace existing stylus, and no instructions to help. However once I’d worked it out really improved sound quality on my Record Player. also being a five pack will keep be going for a long time.
These styli replacements work as well as the original one and whilst it was a little tricky getting the old one out, the new one slotted straight in. Lovely. I had a bunch of old 78s that I wanted to digitise and so, with this new, cheap two-pack, I was happy to sacrifice the original.
I bought a fairly cheap usb record deck a couple of years ago and found the sound quality was very poor and thought it was due to some incompatibility with my hi fi system or a poor quality LP. I was given a new LP which was even worse with track jumping as well as distortion. I examined the stylus with my digital microscope and it was clearly defective. I had no idea that the stylus was so easily obtainable and cheap. I bought two for about 8. They arrived in a couple of days and the first one I placed into the cartridge performed well, eliminating the problems with the original stylus.
Overall very pleased with these replacement styli for my Groove-e Retro record player. I have bought a replacement from a different seller which sounded terrible on any record with any kind of bass. Really distorted. These remove 90% of that problem but on really bassy tracks the distorted vibration is still evident, hence only 4 stars. But for the price and the majority of music I use them for, they are spot on.
I have a Crosley Cruiser I rarely use because vinyl and kids rarely mix well so a decent turntable’s an outlay that’s not needed.
Recently though some nice albums have been bought as presents but the sound quality was not only scratchy and reedy there was a channel actually missing.
After mooching about google I came across these, read the reviews and actually thought “bull!” but, with the price being enough to gamble on, I ordered.
The Crosley will never be a Technics but what a transformation!!! Less scratchy, fatter, clearer sound and 2 channels!
Honestly if your still using the OE needle on a Crosley/Bush/Ion junk it as soon as you can!
When I took mine off I put it in the box to keep as a spare, after hearing the new one that box is in the bin.
I bought this 2 pack of styli for my Crosley Executive turntable to replace the ceramic one that it comes supplied with.
Those ceramic ones rip your records to shreds.
The worst part of the process of changing the needle was trying to get the old one off. Put your fingernail in and prise the old one down said the Crosley’s manual – easier said than done.
Once set up with the new stylus the difference was instantly noticeable with an improved sound quality and the added bonus of knowing my prized album collection was no longer in danger of being damaged with every play.
Those that care about such things will be pleased to know that my order arrived promptly and well packed (environmentally so too, with no plastic packaging used)
I have had my ION Classic LP record player for a few weeks and have been disappointed with the amount of scratchy surface noise I’ve been getting from my vinyl. I decided to buy these replacement stylus’ more in hope than anything and am really pleased with results. A vast improvement!! Clean vinyl are now playing really well. The scratchy surface noise I was getting before is almost inaudible now. Clarity of audio is now more than acceptable from my budget record player.
This is a good upgrade/replacement for the stock stylus that comes with the Ion Audio Air LP turntable. NOTE – On installation I found that the needle tracking weight was way too heavy and causing a lot of needle noise. I have fixed this by blu-tacking a penny to the opposite end of the tone arm. It seems to have worked and playback has been improved.
Needing a replace stylus for my Crosley Executive model player, I began to get a little perplexed and cross by reading the reviews of the various styli available on Amazon (Will fit / won’t fit, will work / won’t work, good quality / poor quality etc., etc.) but decided to stop dithering and plump for what this seller was offering. Well, all I can tell you is that the biggest struggle I had in replacing the stylus was trying to get the original one that came with the player off, but, that being done, the replacement slipped on very easily and the difference it made to the sound quality of vinyl that I had been playing with the worn stylus was remarkable. I don’t know how much use is to be got from each stylus before wear becomes noticeable, but with two styli available at such a reasonable price it’s possible to replace them regularly without going into the red!
These styluses are excellent value for money. I have not actually used them yet, as I have purchased them for spares. But I have no reason to doubt that they will work as expected.
Update. Since changing my stylus to one of these, I am finding that some of my records (all less than 12 months old) have started skipping. I can’t be sure if this is entirely due to the stylus, but it is certainly worth bearing in mind.
