I bought this product for me and my boyfriend as something fun to do together and it was great. Each character gives you something different to focus on to prevent boredom which is good, only negative being the large green and blue at the top and bottom of the puzzle making it tedious to complete and us ( as adults) struggled to complete these sections
Love to do a puzzle now and then, when I saw this one I thought it would be a good idea to do with my boy, all was going well until we got to the large area of green at the bottom and the large area of blue at the top of the puzzle, youl find these pieces fit very easily together… although their not actually ment to go together. We got 3/4 of the way through and gave up, we honestly couldn’t tell which green connected to which green or which blue connected to the other blue, its alot of all exactly the same colour once you’ve completed the mario gang in the middle
It’s good quality but as others have said the blue & green colours are so difficult and indistinguishable that it goes from being a good challenge to something very frustrating. There are only two different sized puzzle pieces too in the whole set so you can’t get any pointers to help these pieces fit. I wouldn’t recommend this one because of that.
I bought this jigsaw for my 11 tear ol whilst we are self isolating alongside my daughters aged 15 and 17. He really enjoyed doing the main part of the jigsaw but was left with 3 rows of greed grass at the bottom and 3 rows of blue sunshine at the top. There was nothing to make any piece of the green or blue jigsaw different, no pattern, writing, nothing, so he lost interest, as it’s just too hard. I have tried to help as have his 2 sisters, but it’s just not fun. I now just have a half done jigsaw on my table. Very frustrating. I would not recommend this product.
As others have said, the sky and grass are an unnecessary challenge. The character section of the puzzle is very good and various ages enjoyed the challenge. The grass section is not completely plain. It is sort of speckled in most places so easier to do than the sky. These sections are made more tricky because pieces can fit in more than one place, so the top and bottom edge needed to be redone as if done incorrectly you can’t make the other pieces fit. This made the puzzle take much longer than it needed to.
I enjoyed the majority of the puzzle as a puzzle. The sky was like an endurance challenge and the grass was a mix. The puzzle only got completed due to determination to finish what I started and I felt a great sense of satisfaction for completing it. So much so that I hope to frame it.
I now know what to avoid when choosing puzzles in future!
This is a great looking puzzle but a bit difficult for my 5 year old at this stage. The pieces are tiny and my son quickly got bored of sitting trying to find each piece for the border so it’s been put away and he will hopefully be more into it next year. I’d say it would suit from ages 7/8+
Found this to be a very well made puzzle bursting with colour with great solid pieces that fit really well together.
It was great fun to build and the grass/sky gave it a (for me) nice challenging edge over what would have been a fairly easy/beginner puzzle otherwise, advancing it to more of an intermediate puzzle.
The grass and sky might prove too much of a challenge for young children and be too testing on their patience as you have to be very methodical. (Hint to help a little: Do it in good lighting as the sky shading does get darker towards the top, but this is only really well visible in good lighting).
Good puzzle, well made with a nice picture for fans of the Mario franchise.
However, one note of caution: the grass and sky sections are fairly uniform so younger jigsaw fans might struggle a bit (mine is 7 and roped his mum in for those parts). This puzzle is therefore trickier than you might expect for the size and nature of the image.
The pieces are very small and it’s definitely a challenge. Myself and my 6 year old managed to complete all of the characters but gave up on the sky and the grass! We’ll try again some other time!
Did this as a family jigsaw. Slightly difficult as some pieces appear to go in places they don’t belong and with the blue area and green area it’s hard to find what piece goes where. Excellent for a challenge and lots of fun for us all.
The grass and the sky are particularly tricky, but we did not quit and completed it. Came with a free poster which son has put up on the wall already.
Good purchase, but only if you and your child have a lot of patience.
This is a very good quality jigsaw. I would definitely say that it’s not for very young children to complete on their own as it’s quite difficult so they would probably need help from someone older. Overall I would highly recommend it as it’s well worth the money. You even get a free poster with it too.
Good quality jigsaw puzzle. The puzzle is challenging, the characters are quite easy to piece together but the sky and grass are tough! Great purchase if you love the Mario world.
