There is no much to say about cables when they are for domestic use. They were easy to install, no obvious performance issues. They arrived on time and in good condition.
I like that this cable is nice and sturdy. Others I have tried are thin and feel like you could break them easily, this is thick and feels strong. Not sure the gold plating has any actual benefit, there is no reason it should, but the cable works well.
Needed a quick fix for a HDMI soundbar that suddenly decided it wouldn’t output via the HDMI port. I checked the ports on the back and noticed an ancient optical output and decided it was probably the best way forward rather than needlessly replacing the soundbar.

First of all, the “gold plating” is completely irrelevant and serves no purpose in real use. It’s a decent durable feeling Toslink cable, however if you are using this with a computer – it may show as being able to do 192khz/24bit, which will not consistently work in my experience. Toslink is rated for uncompressed 96khz/24bit 2-channel PCM and nothing more, and only when the stars are aligned will it seem to do higher.
I recently bought a new amplifier with an optical connection. Now I can connect my PS4 directly. But for that I had to buy a longer cable, so I took the opportunity to buy something of better quality. My PS4 sounds great now.
A cheaper alternative to some of the Toslink cables on Amazon but a thought I’d take the chance and I’m not at all displeased with the result. Easy to fit, good sound quality through my Sharp soundbar/sub-woofer and excellent value for money. Durability? I don’t know because I only fitted the cable a week ago. It’s a case of so far so very good.
I purchased the Syncwire Optical Cable to replace an older cable that no longer met my expectations.
I wanted to maximise the quality of sound from my Sonos TV soundbar. This cable fits the bill and yes it works perfectly. I plugged it into my TV’s optical digital audio output port and then into the Sonos digital input port. The cable is a good length and (much better than my previous optical cable which was too short) and long enough (with extra) to reach my soundbar.
The sound difference is immediate. I stream music directly to the Sonos soundbar from a NAS and it sounds very good. The TV audio from my Sky box to Sonos sounds much better than it was previously.
I recommend this cable for anyone who wants to use an external speaker on their TV sets.
