I have a tubular head board it kept moving so I put some board up so the clamp doesn’t move it is handy to have to read Watch tv and play games
Wonderful service from the trader that backs up the robustness and strudiness of this excellent value tablet holder.
Very easy to put together , takes less than a minute. Highly recommended.
In two words, good enough. Obviously not a super high quality product but does the job. Holds my iPad, phone or switch safely and let’s me play or watch in bed. It does wobble a fair bit sometimes and you need to touch it to hold it still and it can creak when moving (not great when the missus is trying to sleep) but as I say, good enough!
I have had a few different types over the years, the wire ones are awful, cant hold weight and drop easy. Then the swan neck ones which are ok but lack free movement. These articulated ones work well allowing you to tighten certain point to give you a firmness when moving your device while still in the holder. So far has not gone weak or loose so seems to be great.
Poorly engineered, extending arm had to be forced in to the clamping base scraping the paint and scoring the metal so that I am unable to return the item. It might be alright if you want to clamp it directly in front of you but it offers very little adjustability or versatility to use as a bedside tablet holder.
There are better holders on the market, my advice is look elsewhere. You get what you pay for!
I still stick to my original opinion of the stand but the customer service is amazing they have offered me a full refund and to send me a new improved stand.
It is my opinion you can buy from this firm with absolute knowledge they will do there upmost to resolve any problems you might have.
I am therefore upping the star rating from one to four because if the stand is unsuitable for your needs they will do ever thing to help put it right.
he monitor I have on there is a 13.3″ Monitor arms are hard to find for something this light about 600g it works well just tighten everything up and then try move it as you want to and loosen until it moves as you want and tighten every couple of months as it losesn a bi
I hate writing reviews but writing this after years. This product is brilliant. I am using with iPad Pro 12″ and it holds it in good position. I can now read for hours. Happy days.
Just to mention this will move owing to nature of the product if you want to write.
The unit is very good using thespring system to hold thw dvice in the perfect position wiyh no fesr of the device been disodged. The only down side for me is the arm will not fit on the hospital bed i have to use because of the electtricly operated badk which fouls the frame of the arm,Putting it on my over bed table is ok though.
I am in bed a lot due to chronic illness so this has been a game changer because it’s clamped and above me so I don’t end up scrolling all night!
I haven’t gotten the clamps to perfection just yet, that’s something I’m experimenting with,
but I have it to the way I want it and the pivot ball on the end where the tablet /phone is held is great for moving to the position you want to watch in. For me, on my side, on my back and I tend to fall asleep so much easier.
So far 4/5 for me. Only knocked off one star because I worry about putting my expensive tablet in the hands of a metal arm , if it falls, the tablet is screwed also getting the tablet into the holder is a two hand job which is a pain because the arm keeps moving.
In saying that I also saw some reviews saying the joints fail etc.. I’ve only had it a few days but for the price it really is good so tbh If this failed I’d actually buy another one !
I love my Games and now I don’t need to hold my massive tablet when I am relaxing. It takes a few tries to get it to your most comfortableist place. It if very sturdy it wobbles but it won’t break when you are trying to get into a good positio
i just wanted to play my switch in bed without getting out of bed to get the remotes from the charging base by the TV.
call me lazy, haha but this is the solution!
I brought this for my wife to watch netflix in bed . Before this purchase she struggled keeping her phone in bed to watch movies. Now she can play bingo on her phone and watch netflix with this arm support. Good product. Save my nights and sleep.
An average product, works well for its price.
The product is shaking a lot.
It would be better if it was developed a little more.
In general, I like it.
Perfect for it use, sturdy and can be positioned at a comfortable distance from your face. I have mine attached to the headboard of my bed. I now don’t have arm strain or numb wrists from sitting in awkward positions despite having a foldable tablet cover stand. I can lie down on my side and position it to my liking. Just love it.
This is my second one but an upgrade which is a lot better. #1 the silicone pads are much better than the stuck-on rubber ones. #2 the second spigot hole at 45 degrees is a welcome bonus (that’s the one I’m using). #3 the addition of the extra rod for attaching the phone/tablet holder is superb, you can lie in bed surfing, reading or watching films or get up and sit in a bedside chair and change the angles of use without undoing the fixed anchor. Very adaptable for sitting, standing or lying down. If you fix it to a desk you can swivel it 360 degrees, raise it up or lower it down. One of my best buys ever.
Great for watching your iPad in bed so you can get all comfy and just chill out and watch movies and stuff not great on a cushioned head board but works
I want to write 2 opposing reviews of this item. I’ll start off with the positives but do read my final paragraph.
I broke my collarbone and during the long time it took to heal, I wanted some way to be able to read in bed. This item worked well for me – and that is the 5 star rating I gave. I had something vertical behind my head, and this would be similar to a headboard, which many people would have. I fixed the device to that – but you will most likely have to work out how you want to fix it to suit you. You can then position the articulated parts and tighten a thingamyjig to fix them in that position. It was slightly awkward getting into bed after this, sliding under it, but worth the effort. I used it to hold my kindle fire 7 – this was not perfect because the spring-loaded tension of the holder was pressing on one of the volume keys at the top of the kindle. But I just accepted that for the duration of the time I wanted to use it. The device was safely held by the holder – I never really had any problem with this aspect. The articulation options allow for quite a lot of versatility in arranging it how you want it.
The end of my time using this contraption was not so good. One night, it collapsed on me. I had the habit of sleeping with the device in place over me, and this had not really been problematic. But eventually one of the tightened knobs gave in and even though the fixation to the headboard was still in place, the whole arm of the device pivoted downwards and hit me. It was an unpleasant way to wake up. Perhaps I had not tightened the knob hard enough, and for that reason I have given 5 stars.
I bought this to replace the second ‘gooseneck’ type that has snapped, this one feels a lot more robust plus it’s much easier to tidy away. Obviously it’s not as moveable as the gooseneck but frankly I haven’t had an issue getting it into the positions I’ve wanted and the fact that the clamp has two installation options for the arm just makes it that much easier.
The holder is the usual plastic expanding type, holds pretty firmly and I’ve had no issues holding my phone (which has a pretty chunky case protecting the camera) and my switch.
All in all I’m pretty happy with this purchase.
This is a good tool to use if you want to watch movies, you tube on your phone or for video calls, vlogging. It is sturdy and it takes a while to get used to it.
A bit overpriced maybe.
If you want to browse and use your hands a lot you will get shoulder pain in the end though.
Stays in place well with 7in Fire tablet and can still access side buttons and USB. Difficult to get it in a position that I wanted but eventually OK clamped to headboard. Has a tendency to wobble a little but fitting to wall would reduce vibration. Position doesn’t drift like some. No clips for cables but tie wraps work OK. Reasonably pleased and would but again but maybe look at alternatives with more features and a wall mount fitting.
This thing is well built, and it really holds its position well even without tightening the screws thanks to the springs.
The clamp is nice and wide and will fit all but the thickest of tables or head boards. It’s about 2 and a half inches (6.8 cm exactly) and will even clamp to spongey headboards if they have a solid board inside, though it will probably leave an indent for a while afterwards.
The arms are a light but strong aluminium (I think) and they do the job like any other mic stand, lamp or phone holder of similar design.
The clamp itself is plastic, but sturdy with some good strong springs. It’s 5.2 inches closed (13.2cm) and 9 inches extended (23 cm, a bit wider than the short side of an A4 piece of paper). This means it will comfortably grip an iPad across the width, or a phone and Nintendo Switch by its length (though you can easilly rotate the clamp to another orientation. It won’t grip a Switch or phone width ways as they’re too short to grip, so charging the joycons on the Switch won’t work as the whole thing is too wide to fit lengthways. You might be able to charge your phone through the slot on one of the sides depending on the model.
The thickness of the device should be less than 1.5 cm as the rubber grips might not hold it. A Switch is about the limit as it sits exactly flush.
I’ve had this for a couple of weeks and I have yet to drop anything on my face with it. Be mindful of storing it in a folded position, especially around bouncy kids, as you could easily put an eye out if not careful. I’d recommend unclamping and storing away when not in use, though I do risk it myself.
Actually for young kids it’s not recommended at all. There’s a few places that might act like scissors to little fingers if not careful, and squishing a finger or nail between the arm rods is quite painful, confirmed empirically. With careful use it’s no more dangerous than a Pixar style desk lamp.
It does wobble at slight bumps, it’s a long rigid object after all, but this subsides with a stabilising finger.
I keep all the joints slightly loose for easy repositioning, but you can tighten them if you find a position you like or have a particularly heavy device.
I went with white, it looks nice but black might be less distracting in the dark.
My partner always complained about having yo crane her neck whilst watching her movies on her iPad. Got this item after a quick search.
It is easy to install, sleek and the color matches with out room palette. The only gripe though is the turning knob, which is quite long. It tends to snag on us or our clothes when getting up. Other than that, a good buy!
Bought a gooseneck phone holder a while ago. It was absolutely hopeless trying to twist it to a wanted position. And within weeks it got gradually louder and louder. Not good when in bed. So out of frustration (when the plastic locking nut sheared off) I went for something more substantial. Hence my review of this product. It’s great. It easily supports my phone or my tablet without loosing its position – because there are locking knobs at each junction. It squeaked initially but WD40 sorted that. Overall, a great holder. Much recommended.
