I don’t need 80 seconds of recording, but I wanted some different shapes – to visually distinguish these from all the round ones I have.
The sound recording is clear, and seems to have lasted well (several years along)
Can be use for anything including teaching small dog with talking buttons. Very easy to press. Totally recommend.
Love these, have lots of fun trying to teach my dogs to communicate with me. Once they press the food button they never stop!.
The sound recording works better with deeper male voices than higher women’s voices.
We bought these to help train our dog to communicate with us through these buttons.
The sound quality is surprisingly good (we had low expectations!), we are not talking about hi-fi speakers, but they are clear sounding.
The colors of them are as advertised, they look good for this purpose and I like that you can put your own drawings under each one.
The size is good, and I like that there is a Rec /Play switch, to avoid overwriting a recorded sound by mistake.
I also like that there is a line in for audio to improve the quality of recordings if one wishes, though we have only tried speaking into the device.
And there is an On/Off switch too.
What I would like improved (for our needs) is to make the button easier to press.
Our dog is very careful with toys and things in general, so the problem we have is that she will just sort of scratch/pull on the button, which will not cause it to play a sound most of the time.
She is starting to learn that if she scratches it a bit harder sometimes it plays the sound and that this is what she needs to do.
If you press down the button in the corner it will not play the sound, you have to press a bit more firmly maybe 1cm in from the corners for it to register. I hope this will be fixed for future versions as we want to buy many more buttons.
We will have to work on teaching her to put more weight into this.
The buttons seem quite sturdy, and I believe they would work well for bigger dogs too (our is medium sized).
I got this set of six talking tiles for my disabled son to use in conjunction with his Amazon Alexa. My son has some spoken language but gets very frustrated trying to get his Alexa to play what he wants it to – he often pauses in the middle of his sentence or repeats himself, which means the instruction is not clear enough to work. It’s very difficult to find a way for someone with his level of physical disability/lack of coordination/learning disability to work any other system as he doesn’t read and wouldn’t press a series of buttons, so I thought these might help. I’ve recorded messages on four so far, printed out photos that work as prompts for him to know which button makes what music play (which he coloured in) and slipped these between the buttons and the covers. So far so good – he presses them and activates them properly, and my voice instruction is played loud enough for the speaker to be triggered (despite the speakers of the talking tiles being on the base).
Great switches, easy to record and removable clear covers to easily replace the image of the spoken word on your switch. One didn’t work so I was given a refund for one so that I could buy a single one.
Very clear & audible custom recordings on a tactile switch, an effective communication tool.
Absolutely amazing product. I bought them as a sensory toy for my disabled son. He plays with them all the time. The two minutes recording time is enough for part of a story or for a song. They are more robust than I expected – ours have been dropped on the floor a number of times!
Our little boy lost the ability to speak at 2 years old and has spent the last two years using physical prompts. Now he uses my voice to ask for all sorts of things, it is a real novelty for him. Very happy with them as they complement PECS. Batteries last well and voice very clear. We put the PECS symbols under the clear removable cover.
Bought for my grandson and he loves them. Haven’t yet run out of different uses. Play a treasure hunt game by recording and hiding the clues, give instructions – amazing what is then fun to do, teach colours, phonics, quiz answers etc. etc. Well made, easy to use. Bought dry wipe stickers and download recording lead as well. They will last many years as the uses will adapt with his age.
