Tangle Teezer | The Salon Elite Detangling Hairbrush |
Tangle Teezer | The Salon Elite Detangling Hairbrush | Midnight Black
How to Use
Start detangling at the ends of the hair first, working your way up the head until you can easily brush from roots to ends. Continue brushing with downward strokes following the shape of the head.

Had these before and they are very good at detangling hair without pulling very much.
Ive had this comb since 2015 and its very good with afro carribean hair. Its broke in half but very usable
I bought this to use on a spaniel. Got every knot out of his hair without distressing him. Would definitely recommend. If it works on a spaniel it’ll most likely work on the most unruly hair, pain free. Winner.

Can’t be without it. Got it when my daughter was 5 and now she is 10 and we are still using it!
It’s really good, I have 2 daughters who love using these and it is a great product.
Am growing my hair out for the first time and the tangle teaser is absolutely essential.
Bought to use on my toddlers hair it’s really good a getting through the knots. It doesn’t tug her hair like other brushes so she doesn’t complain about getting her hair brushed
I had a thought to overhaul my daily used items, this included my hairbrush, as each morning, my hair would get caught and be ripped up (ouch)
Buying this has been great. Not only is it great at brushing my long thick hair, but it also acts as a great headscratcher! Glad I was able to get it in a neutral black colou
Got this brush because I’ve heard this was one of the best brushes when it came to detangling. So I decided to purchase it as I was linking for a brush even though it was a bit pricey. Overall for my 4c hair it does an okay job of detangling although I had to use it with an comb as well as my hair doesn’t really detangle using just it. It works really well on wet/damp hair not so much on dry. Although one thing I really hate it that it is really hard to clean.
I have used hair hystems for 3 years and this brush has helped me get so much extra time out of them all. While combs tug and pull hairs out, this gently separates the hairs and allows me to style them the way I want afterward.
I bought my girlfriend one of these and she loves it too – she carries it around in her bag when she goes to uni or work.
I’ve struggled with really knotted hair recently and none of the sprays would quite get rid of the knots. My hairdresser used a very similar brush so I decided to get one. It does work really well and I’m glad I bought it. The only problem is it causes a lot of static in my hair so I can’t use it all the time.
Compared to the original, this is a newer version:
-Slightly heavier
-Slightly bigger; I prefer the smaller original size.
-More curved, which allows the ends to get into hair more, when brushing over your head.
Great for brushing dry hair. Feels wonderful on my scalp, it fits into my palm, the bristles are sharp but soft enough, and leaves me looking neater than an average hair brush for some reason.
It’s not good for styling hair though, especially wet hair, like a regular hair brush is. I think it’s because the bristles are too short. But it serves its purpose and I’m glad I purchased this one.
The original Tangle Teezer; it arrived packaged in its own plastic storage box–in my case, the genuine article.
Best used with wet conditioned hair–my personal leave-in mixture is a generous amount of perfume-free conditioner (Simple brand) mixed with about a tsp of 100% pure argan oil. Rub it in, section, and this hairbrush works through my 4C tangles with ease. Some might prefer longer or sturdier bristles–these bend easily. Unlike those, this doesn’t forcibly break (most of) my fragile hair.
If your hair does get matted–the worst tangles–it is strong enough to work its way through. Be patient and start from the ends to minimise hair breakage. You can use it on dry hair, but you will experience more breakage.
Even though I use it in the shower, it’s only slipped out of my hand once. I prefer this style to the fan brushes, where the bristle spreader routinely pops off. Also, I find this wide palm-sized shape easier to control than a long-handled brush–a matter of personal preference.
Had a tangle tweezer for years. Was in need of replacement so bought a similar looking one, different brand, slightly cheaper. Was rubbish so bought this. Does the job like no other we have tried.
What is there not to like about the Tangle Teezer… Lightweight, great ergonomic design, great price…
I have purchased several Tangle Teezers over the year to support a busy and growing household. If you ever find yourself in a tangle… Pulling your hair out… wishing you had a decent hairbrush… this is the one for you.
With minimal fuss the Tangle Teezer, due to it’s fantastic design, will easily untangle even the most tangled of hairs.
Important to note, that this is also a lifesaver for those fussy children that do not like having their hair brushed after a bath… no more tears isn’t just associated to shampoo in our house!
Bought this for my daughter as she has really long hair which gets tuggy very easily. Every day was a nightmare brushing it! This brush definitely make’s a difference and goes through her hair much easier than previous brushes I have used. Would recommend
I’ve very late to the Tangle Teezer party as I’ve never used one before, but I didn’t realise that the bristles are a lot softer (more flexible) that a normal hairbrush. It’s comfortable to hold and comes in a sleek black finish.
Did it get rid of my knots with no pulling or pain? Yes, but as I have thicker hair it doesn’t get through all of the hair to the roots because the bristles have more give in them as they are softer. I will still have to use my paddle brush, but this is a nice brush regardless.
I’m a little paranoid when it comes to my hair which is thinning but very long so I’m as gentle to it as I can be. I only wash it once a week, never use heat tools, sleep with a satin bonnet/head scarf and using several different hair brushes including some that were quite expensive. My hair tangles so easily, I can brush one side of the hair switch to do the other but already the first half is tangle just from moving it. I’ve had a tangle tweezer in the past as I bout the original one when it VERY first came out. I enjoyed the original however I found the bristles bent fairly quickly. My biggest issue was that it would constantly fly out of my hand especially as my hair is so long and it drove me mad. So much so that I stopped using it and moved onto other brushes. However when this one, the elite, was reccomended to me I thought I’d give a tangle teezer a second chance and I am so glad I did. In the hand it feels like it is so much sturdier and a higher quality and the rounded shape fit into the hand so much better than the original and hugs the curve pf your head too which really helps for giving a scalp stimulating massage which by the way this brush is AMAZING for. The bristles are rounded and not at all scratchy which means it doesn’t irritate my scabby patches of psoriasis that are dotted around here and there. One of the things I love about tangle teezer style brushes is that they’re so much easier to clean. One of my other brushes is use (that i LOVE and highly reccomend; the cantu detangling bristle brush for thick hair) is a nightmare to clean. Because I have 2 cats, one of which is a very floofy Ragdoll I get so much fluff and fuzz in my hair and that quickly builds up on my brushes even though I remove hair from my brushes every time I use them. It takes forever to pick out the fuzz from the bristles. With this tangle teezer however it is so much easier because of it being plastic it is so simple and quick to clean I just run it under the tap with a small amount of shampoo and use a soft tooth brush to thoroughly clean between bristles and then simply rinse. Done in 30seconds. It gently detangles my knotty hair and the amount of hair I lose when I brush is so much less than any other brush I use and that makes a big difference to me as my hair falls easily due to lupus and pcos. If you’re undecided about trying this brush, just do it and give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
