This has beenuch hyped in the media so I was pleasantly surprised at the quality.. I have never the game but I thought the series stood on it’s own. The background material was also enlightening.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’d not played the game so wasn’t sure whether I would like this, but it sounded right up my street. It really was! Binge watched the whole box set, stunning series, very well made, great acting and story lines, was pleasantly surprised to see a couple of game of thrones actors in this. I can’t recommend this show enough, for 27 it is very reasonable, the extras are also excellent, very interesting and not too long or boring.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe series itself is fantastic, with some beautiful episodes. It stays true to the game whilst also doing some unique things, which ultimately enhance the story. Bill and Frank’s episode is one of the best tv episodes this year.

This version is great quality and comes in a stunning metallic case. Very impressed!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI LOVED the 2 LAST OF US computer games, so, beginning of 2023, thought I’d try out the TV series. LOVED that just as much. Have recommended it to friends, they loved it, too. If you love things like THE WALKING DEAD games/tv series, you’ll also love THE LAST OF US tv series. Enjoy! 🙂

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAll as described, arrived no issues.
If you’ve not played the games that’s fine you’re not missing anything in terms of story. It’s brilliant as I’d expect. Having played the games it’s impressive how well they’ve transferred over to a tv show. Some creative decisions different to what’s in the game I thought were fair and decent. Nice cameo appearance from some game cast. Highly recommend. This also features video documentaries on the making of each episode.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAs someone who has played the game multiple times I was anticipating this series with a bit of trepidation.

I can now say, after viewing this fantastic series that I should not have worried.

First of all the music is by the same person who did the music for the game which is very important. Key scenes from the game play out exactly like the game with that incredible score.

Yes there are some changes but these are for the better. Some characters are more fleshed out as well. Most notably Bill & Frank in Episode 3.

The casting is perfect especially for the two main roles of Joel & Ellie.

Fans of the game will need to look out for the original cast in some different roles as well!

Now we just have to wait for season 2!

In the meantime if you are a gamer and have never played the game, you owe it to yourself to do so!

I gave 4 stars because I thought there was a blu ray version in the collection but it’s only 4k blu ray, but the show is top notch and this steelbook is gorgeous

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersSimilar to WBD/HBO’s other phyiscal 4K TV show releases recently (House of the Dragon S1) there are no Blu-ray discs included, so if you were hoping for 4K + Blu-ray as the label on the box advertises (thrown away since receiving since they’re a waste really) sadly you’ll be disappointed. The 4K discs look to be intact, received new and wrapped. But whoever is manufacturing should take the ‘+ Blu-ray’ off the packaging.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAbsolutely brilliant adaptation of part 1 of the last of us. A few things got changed from the way the story got played out in the game, but it worked out well and gave better insight into bill and Frank and how ellie came to be immune. I can’t praise it enough. And I’m looking forward to what they do with part two. I just hope they don’t change the controversial way Joel is handled in part 2.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReally enjoyed the show, got my preorder in early to be able to get a steelbook copy. A steelbook was delivered but it was someone else’s order. Nothing against mission impossible but this sucks. Luckily Amazon was able to somewhat help, but I am still without a copy of this show. It sucks but what can you do.
    Still a great show.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Show

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI first bought last of us on PS3, then on PS4 and then received the PS5 version as a gift. I don’t have Sky so I preordered the Bluray of the series and loved it – even the significant changes to the plot – it’s just not as good nor as long playing the game!

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersA lovely steelbook although pre-order buyers beware!
While this set does include the 4K discs, the standard blu ray discs are not included as previously advertised and shown to be included on the J card, however despite this, it’s still a nice piece for collectors

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic set although Blu Ray discs not included!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersPre ordered as soon as it became available. Having never played the game I was intrigued to see what all the fuss was. Superb show, great acting, great story beautiful filmed. Well worth watching. One of the best TV shows for years. Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal are amazing as are the fantastic supporting cast. Brilliant.
edit: After watching again just wanted to add this thought. I’ m fed by artificial nutrition and I know how much ‘ food ‘ it takes everyday to keep me alive, how on earth did these two survive on beef jerky and carbohydrate biscuits with the odd meal thrown in???!!!. Plus when did Joel have the time to maintain his moustache and beard. Just saying. Still absolutely love it. 5 star. Yet to meet anyone who hasn’t loved it.

The series is an improvement on an already great story and I can’t wait to see what they do next.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersThis is a TV series based upon the famous PlayStation video game the Last of us. And the episodes follows these two main characters a father and a daughter what seem to be anyway, who survive some sort of apocalyptic explosion of something. .And in the early episodes the daughter has a mother too. I won’t explain what happens to much about the episodes as it will give to much away about it. The episodes themselves are about 46 minutes in length some shorter, and some longer. This is a HBO Television series, so it has lots of bloody violent scenes in it and bad language. The episodes resemble the video game quite well as well as standing on its own. Imagine what would of happened if they turned this into a film like the recent uncharted film it would of been given a bigger budget, and may of been given a series of films. This Last of us TV series is a lot better than early film video game adaptations of Mortal Kombat or even the Jean-Claude van Damme film street fighter. This last of us TV show features a lot of dramatic performances from the main actors and is heavy on dialogue scenes. and this Last of us TV show has these creatures in it that are similar to the walkers in the walking dead! So all in all this is a pretty good adaptation of the popular PlayStation video game.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersThis series is the adaptation of the Last of Us Game which was released in 2013. The game is widely considered the greatest ever made. The main reason for this is that is very character and story driven; you feel connected to, and control, the main protagonists.

The conversion into a series for TV was carried out by the creator of the game and Craig Mazin, the award winning screenwriter for Chernobyl. The result is unlike any prior translations from games to the screen, such as Mortal Combat with thin storylines and a means to simply make money. Here you have people who love the game, love the characters in the game and love the world.

The series does not tread the standard Zombie series, it takes inspiration from Nature and uses something that already exists and adds a ‘what if?’. This makes it even more terrifying when you watch a a nature documentary on the said ‘thing’ afterwards.

(trying to keep it as spoiler free as possible) You follow two main protagonists, Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) making their way across the US. Their performances are Emmy award-winning. Each episodes brings you further into the world where choices are made and decisions you may be wondering “would I have done that?”. It has been a long, long time since I can remember seeing something that did not keep the same old trodden path like this.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersAs a decade long fan of the game & then it’s sequel, this TV adaptation had a lot to live up to but I’m happy to report it succeeds on every level.

There are changes (gameplay & TV narratives are different entities) but they are always for the better. I can’t wait for part 2.
