A good old fashioned rip roaring romantic adventure, brings back memories of Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the Nile. The cast seem to be having fun. Even better when watched as a double bill with Bullet Train.
A perfect combination of classic action-adventure and romantic comedy, carried by brilliant writing and the charisma and skill of the film’s two leads. A treat to watch every time: not one joke falls flat, every character is perfectly encapsulated and delivered by the cast, and the story is actually pretty thought-provoking and sincere. If you want a fun even of romance, comedy, and self-aware archaeological adventure, this is your film.
Went and saw this at the cinema and it was funny So have had to buy it for my niece as she is a massive Channing Tatum fan !
Think this was the first comedy Tatum had done as an actor and he did well.
Sandra Bullock is a pro at comedy so great timing as usual and Brad Pitt is the handsome hero / rescuer and pretty funny too.
As for Daniel Radcliffe did not think he could pull off being a baddie as always think of little Harry Potter when ever I see him but he did good too All in all it’s an enjoyable film.
Timeless Bullock rarely fails to entertain. Pretty good film. Has vague similarities to another romance writer adventure film, but plenty of new material. Tatum is definitely good at comedy and not taking himself seriously. A keeper to watch again on a girls’ night.
Tatum is not my fave actor but, add Sandra Bullock and this movie just grew on me and my partner as it played on. The streaming was poor, but who do you blame for that? Not expensive and worth a watch.
I don’t regret watching this, but I’d rather have a nice sandwich. The acting and budget is there, but it’s just a not very well written film. The list potential is heartbreaking, famous people who can act, with lots of cash, and the best moment is when you see Brad or for a flicker, and then it’s out of the film. So much wrong with modern cinema, but this does reasonably well considering the material, but was capable of so much more. The charchters are poorly written but as well performed as they can be, Sandra Bullock reprises her miss congeniality type well, the plot is a bland waste but what can you do with millions of dollars and excellent acting talent, that’s right, pen an appallingly bad-way predictable script with more formula than the baby food Isle. The guy does well not to be unimpressive, a weak insipid mess, with Mr macho brad erased after a sprinkling of, ‘oh now this should be good… Oh’
I like the actors, it was watchable, but no repeatability, I think if push came to above I’d rather have a nice sandwich.
A film that is enjoyable and easy to watch with no bad language, only a splatter of blood (I won’t spoil it!) and no twisted plots that confuse the brain. Some may say it’s follows the same theme as rom – coms but that’s what it is.
Pour a large glass of something or make a mug of tea and sit back ,relax & enjoy a couple of stress free hours.
I have to admit that the reason I watched this film was because the trailer made me laugh and I love both Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum to bits.
But I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it turned out to be.
It was funny and witty and even heart wrenching in certain places. And a bonus is that it also had other great actors in it that I wasn’t expecting, as well as one or two moments that made me gasp in shock.
Definitely worth watching in my opinion.
Really enjoyable film with some great action sequences. Modern Romancing the Stone. Sandra Bullock is excellent as usual but a little disappointed she was stuck in a too clingy jump suit. Brad Pitt was very funny and Daniel Radcliffe was absolutely excellent. Channing Tatum was very good too and played the incompetent cover model very well. Great chemistry between Sandra and Channing. All in all a very enjoyable, easy to watch film
And this film fits the bill perfectly. It’s fun, frivolous and has enough action to keep a bloke entertained, a bit of romance for the more fragrant person in the relationship and humour to keep things light.
Daniel Radcliff plays himself as per usual. He hams up the bad British guy a bit and the film doesn’t challenge his admittedly limited acting chops.
Sandra Bullock plays the kind of role she’s played many times before. She has a naturally engaging personality and that comes across well on screen with one small niggle and I think it’s to do with either the makeup department of special effects.
Her face sometimes doesn’t look entirely real. It almost looks like it’s been smoothed out by a computer which may well be the case as she’s not a youngster anymore and perhaps the film makers needed to knock a few years off. Either way, every so often her face looks artificial.
Channing Tatum is hamming it up full and makes the film. He manages to do the idiot action hero well and the ladies in the house will get to enjoy him showing off his abs. I try the same with the wife but she’s not convinced I’m quite at his level…..
Story is fairly generic action/adventure looking for treasure with bad guys in the way. It’s a rehash of many other similar and it’s probably been mentioned before many times, but this is really a modern version of Romancing the Stone.
Overall, it’s an easy watching film that a great Sunday afternoon on a rainy day one.
Radcliffe) who believes Loretta can lead him to the treasures of a lost city mentioned in a book she’d wrote.
Friends will hire a former navy-seal operative to help rescue her Jack Trainer (Brad Pitt) not so bright model Alan Caprison, (Channing Tatum ) who had modelled as the hero for Loretta’s ‘Lost City’ book insists on joining Jack in the search.
After a skirmish on the remote island Loretta had been taken to her and Alan go on the run from the billionaire and his henchmen.
Will they be caught and will the treasure be found ?
This is a fun and light-heated romp that most will i believe enjoy.
