Bought for granddaughter as she stops breathing. Her parents have a bit of peace of mind now. Product was easy to set up once battery had been bought and installed
Only issue was the delivery. Not left in garden as recorded…..it was thrown over a 6 foot fence into the garden! Luckily the product was packaged well and wasn’t damaged
We absolutely love this product so much so we have two.
Bought nearly 4 years ago for my 1st son and worked flawlessly and is still going strong. We don’t use breathing mat for him anymore though.
2nd one we are using for 2nd son and using breathing mat function once more. Gives us peace of mind that he is breathing all through the night. May seem like overkill for some but I find it reassuring and gives me a better sleep as a resul
As a new dad I had no idea what to look for when it came to baby monitors and all that stuff my other half though she knew what to do and we got this 😀 week keep it plugged in at all times but you can take the monitor with you and the range is good enough not to course any problems it does what it says it does on the box and it’s great for the little lady so happy days 😀
Great product for paranoid first time parents like us. The camera isn’t super clear but it’s all you need, its also a bit hard to place and get a good angle on your baby but thats dependant on your room set up. I used it alot to keep an eye on him while we watched a movie downstairs. The pressure pad was really what we wanted and it works really well, I often picked the baby up without remembering to turn it off and set the alarm off, waking everyone at 3am, annoying but reassuring that it worked and was very sensitive.
As the kid gets older it gets less reliable as the plate is pretty small and they will roll off it. It worked perfectly for up to 6 months or so, which is really the key time to use it.
Highly recommend!!
I got this on sale at a great price. If it was the normal rate I wouldn’t have got it. But it’s good. The sensor pad can be a bit annoying, you’ve to switch it off before you pick the child up. It’s the last thing I think of when picking the crying baby up. The night vision works great too. Overall it’s a good product for the price I got it at.
Love this product gives peace of mind ! The only criticisms are the sound of low battery is the same sound as the breathing alarm which has given me a few scares ! Also the battery on the parent unit doesn’t seem to last very long .
We bought this in the sales but even still baby products are extremly overpriced (why 1 star knocked off). However, this has been a very valuable product for us. The activity sensor works extremely well and the constant beeps give you affirmative assurance that the little monkey is okay. Even with a thick matress and a baby rolling to the end of the bed it is still very effective. I also prefer not to have access to an internet stream due to security. The battery is okay but needs charging intra-day. Ours broke (through a fault of our own) and our initial reaction was to replace with the same product, but being a bit more grown up have not ended up doing this. Overall a really positive experience.
We had the sensor mat and monitor for our first and its lasted 4 years and has been durable. With the next baby we wanted the video monitor too as we would of found it useful when our first started to venture out of her cot. Due to this we were happy to pay at bit extra for that facility.
We went straight to Tommee Tippee as we were impressed with the first monitor we got 4 years ago. We haven’t been disappointed. It’s very clear, has the useful speaking function, night vision is great and the range is great. I would recommend.
Not used the mattress pad yet but the monitor works well. Word of advice, do not turn the monitor on when in the vicinity of the camera unit, if you value your eardrums! The feedback is deafening and sure to wake the whole house, not just your baby!!
This is an excellent piece of equipment that gives us the peace of mind to leave the baby asleep or napping in another room, knowing that we can look at him anytime we want, and that we will be alerted to any noises. I got it at the sale price which is excellent value, after doing wide research on the various baby monitors available. I was very pleased I went for this one as I could have spent double on the highest price products, which I don’t see could have been any better.
We haven’t yet used the motion pad as baby is still sleeping in our room at night.
it has its good and bad points. The camera is great, very reassuring. Things I don’t like, when battery is dying , it alarms the same as if something wrong with baby, the alarms is very short , then dies straight away. not much warning. you don’t hear baby breathing all the time, only if they make a large sound. the sensory pad isn’t very big, so when baby starts moving around cot, it will alarm.
All in all this gets 4 stars.
What a great product… There are so many things one gets for a baby but I must say if you have to cut other things off the list to afford this, DO IT!
I researched A LOT and was not disappointed.. The pad works very well and helps us sleep better at night, this at a time when every minute of sleep counts! (I know there’s no evidence It’s a bit fiddly to get used to and I think could be a little smarter, but it does the job very well.
Do yourselves a favour and get it.. Even if you are in a small 2 bed apartments it is worth it.
This product was useful for us as we have a baby that needs monitored. The camera is decent and it does a really cool night vision thing which makes me feel like Tom Clancy. The radio link generally works although occasionally it gets angry and starts beeping at me. The unit itself feels a little short on options or configuration, it pretty much just monitors babies (or whatever you point it at). That’s fine, as that’s the intended purpose of the product, I just like to tinker with things and feel like Tom Clancy.
This is an amazingly high quality product. I have owned one for 3 years now and it has never caused me problems ever. The child unit has remained plugged in and switched on continuously for practically all that time. Now that my son is 3 years old, I can us the remote unit to chide him if, instead of settling down for the night, he gets out of bed and plays. His response is immediate – back onto the bed and head down for sleep. We did take it with us on holiday and was able to monitor him in his hotel bed from the poolside bar/restaurant of an evening. I even sent one to my eldest daughter for the birth of her child just recently. I highly recommend this product to all parents.
Good product, does the job. Only issue I have is with the motion sensor: it works great but say you want to use the camera on something other than the cot, you get an error flashing on screen constantly saying turn on sensor pad, you cannot do ANYTHING until you turn on the sensor pad (that can only be done from the base unit) or you physically unplug the sensor pad from the base unit. You can’t even turn off the monitor until you turn the sensor pad on, you have to take the batteries out. Sloppy design of what is an otherwise decent monito
PROS:
Nice colour screen
Night-vision is great
Range is god and so is battery life
Features on the product are ideal and you don’t need more than what’s on offer
CONS:
When you turn off one of the units an alarm sounds on the other unit which is really annoying.
If you have the mat sensor on and pick your baby up it goes off and scares the crap out of you and baby in the early hours of the morning! I have yet to figure out a solution for this as you have to use all the devices to turn the mat off which just isn’t convenient.
The baby web cam unit is just too big and would be good if it had its own little feet so you can angle it to see baby rather than using a tripod stand etc.
It is very useful. It is great to see the video image of the baby and see the baby even if there is no light in the bedroom. Also the motion sensor works great (if there are not too many layers above mattress). The bedroom base could be better designed so that it gets more adjastable to any need and position (maybe a proper tiny tripod could included in the package as well. By the way, it is very useful the camera stand skrew hole). The major annoying element is that one cannot switch off the portable monitor when sensor pad is not activated. This means that if you like to use the monitor but not sensor pad, you need to unplug the sensor pad jack from the bedroom base, which depending on how and where you have located the bedroom base, maybe a very unconventient operation. If the producer could just somehow fix this aspect, the system would definitely get 5 stars from me. Otherwise very nice, a great device, which is very useful for peace of mind.
Good points:
– Quality of video is excellent, quite often if the baby has spat out her dummy and started crying because she wants it back I can find it by looking at this. Its also easy to figure out if she is just having a brief moan/cry in her sleep or actually awake.
– Audio is great quality both ways.
– Range on this is very good, I’ve taken it outside to my garage whilst working on the car and its been fine, or down the end of the garden to the shed.
– Battery lasts a whole evening in the parent unit, we keep the charger plugged in in our bedroom and just take the unit downstairs with us until we go to bed and don’t have to keep moving the charger around.
Bad points:
– It does suffer from interference sometimes from kettles, microwaves and Wi-Fi, however apart from the occasional second or two long break in connection I’ve never had any issues (except one night when the Wi-Fi router was flasing away like mad and the parent unit dropped connection and its alarm went off every minute or two, however a reboot of the Wi-Fi router resolved this).
– There is a nightlight on the baby unit, but its pathetic and not worth bothering with.
– Audio is too good for its own good sometimes! Even on low sensitivity it will pick up the noise of a car driving past outside (double glazed house etc so not that loud!), the slightest little moan from the baby and the noise of the baby shifting around in her sleep.
Haven’t used the sensor pad so can’t comment on that.
I’ve tried using a sound only baby monitor since we got this and I just can’t get used to it. In a way its made me used to being able to see the baby all the time and I don’t like it when I can’t just look at the baby monitor to check she is ok!
We love this monitor, the standout feature for us is the Sensor Mat.
Now our little one is in her crib in another room we’ve piece of mind all is well with the sensor mat which works well. If no movement is detected (and it’s sensitive enough to detect movement through a mattress) an alarm sounds on both Camera and monitor end.
The video is good enough but it would have been nice for a little more quality, compared to the Motorola Video it’s not quite as nice.
The camera has talk and listen functions and also a nightlight function, even on the highest setting this is still a very dim light.
Wireless range is good, we get no dropouts at all in our 3 bed house and will reach the end of our garden.
I had not enough time to test it, but for the momment it seems to work ok.
Pros:
– Sensitivity control for the radio signal and for the movement sensor (3 different levels);
– night vision
– Double-way communication;
Cons:
– If the receiver is too close to the transmitter it produces houwling;
– The transmitte can only be turned on/off locally (not from the wireless receiver);
– The video quality could of been better (at least 720p).
I will be back with more feedback after some months of usage.
i love this – the video monitor is great, really clear, even when in a dark room. you can zoom in which is really useful
the only thing i wish it had is a bigger sensor pad – once my baby could move about in the cot he often moves off the pad which sets the alarm off
the alarm goes off in both the child and parent unit – whilst annoying as it can wake the baby up (which has actually only happened a couple of times), is actually great because when it goes off for a legit reason it startles the baby enough to get them to move so the alarm stops and all you need to do is go and reset it in the baby room
i have been using it for a few months and all is well – i have seen other reviews that said it became faulty after 23 months, i hope this doesnt happen as it is certainly not cheap and should not break after any length of time
Bought this to monitor my 3 year old who is at risk of seizures overnight. Not designed for this purpose, but provides piece of mind both visually and through the sensor pad that things are ok.
Pros.
Simple to use
Good quality sound
Clear image day and night
Cons.
You have to turn of main unit first before the remote unit or the alarm sounds
If alarm sounds you can’t mute the main unit.
Fab product.
Video link is very reassuring as you can see exactly what your child is doing.
Talk back feature enables you to comfort child when in their own room.
Parent Monitor allows you to control the night light setting remotely and see what temperature the room is so you can add or remove blankets.
Sensor pad is ok, however consider the size of your child’s bed i.e. moses, crib, cot in relation to their size and how much they move in their sleep. For example my daughter moves quite a lot and often rolls off the bad and lies against the bars of her crib setting the alarm off which rings out on both the monitor and baby unit. Can be quiet frightening but I’d rather be woken by a false alarm then sleep through the alternative!
* Little one 8 months now and we have been using the mat now for 2 months. When he goes down around 7.00 we have the control monitor downstairs whilst watching tv (which is quite far away) and the signal never falters. We sometimes even sit in the garden when the weathers nice and the signal still excellent and perfectly clear picture which gives us great peace of mind and allows you to relax more. We havn’t had any problems at all with the sensor mat. As a previous reviewer mentioned there is a sensitivity control on the base monitor therefore you can adjust the setting and in fairness the setting we have it on we have had no false alarms. We know it works though as once you take him out for a feed, about 20 seconds later the alarm goes off asking you to check baby. Personally, the alarm being on the child monitor as-well as the hand unit I suppose can be a little annoying but I guess it’s a safety feature and because of the setting we have set we have had no false alarms so no real problem in my opinion. Once you get into routine of turning monitor off before picking your little one up then I don’t think theres any great issue personally.
We love this monitor. It’s easy to use and set up, t gives an excellent quality of picture and has a fantastic range. We’ve taken it to various relatives houses when we’ve stayed and it works great. You don’t need to attach the movement sensor if u don’t want to.
We initially had issues with the movement sensor not picking up our sons movements, and it would trigger several times a night unnecessarily. Personally, I’d rather have a million false alarms and know its working ok. We found that the mattress we had was too thick and squishy, so we got a more basic, firmer mattress and the monitor worked fine. Now our son rolls about during he night and it still works great.
You must remember to turn off the ‘parent’ monitor before the cot side monitor, otherwise it bleeps at you. And remember to switch off the movement sensor before lifting baby otherwise it triggers, quite loudly!
The only issue I have with it is that if it does trigger, and then picks up babys movement instantly, it can trigger but not enough to wake us, so it just flashes red and then doesn’t make any sound again and also is no longer registering any movements. So in future models they need to out something in which means the alarm continues every 20 secs or so until its reset.
Overall, we couldn’t be without it. I love being able to glance at the monitor and watch our son. I know without it is be constantly up and down just to look at him!
