About Us
It started with a simple idea: Make digital navigation accessible for everyone. Since changing the way people drive, we have never stopped thinking about how we can improve how the world moves. Our technologies are a vehicle for us to take on bigger challenges. Rather than accept road accidents, emissions and traffic congestion as facts of life, we are actively working to solve these issues that affect us all. Our accurate maps, navigation software, real-time traffic information and APIs enable smart mobility on a global scale, making the roads safer, the drive easier and the air cleaner. TomTom technologies are helping to solve the challenges of climate change and road-related accidents by changing the way people move. That’s what motivates us to create and refine products that are designed to accelerate the adoption of automated, connected and electric driving.

I obviously need my tomtom in my view whilst driving my lorry, I use this one to replace the one that came with my tomtom Pro, the connection between the cable and socket on the holder is very lose after only a couple of months so needed another to carry on using it. I intend to get in contact with tomtom to see about hopefully getting that replaced!
Needed new cradle for my Tomtom go 5100. Ordered this and was exact replacement. Will hopefully last another 5 years as did the previous one with almost daily use. For this type of item always go with original manufacturers.
Very pleased – our previous mount had developed a fault which kept crashing the SatNav (a common fault reading through various reviews). The new item has cured the problem and I purchased another today for my husband’s car as his mount has developed a similar problem.
Yup, I had the same issue as most others, old mount would no longer work due to a faulty connection on the mount. Purchased this genuine TomTom product and my Go5000 works perfectly once again. Expensive but cheaper than buying a new satnav.
It’s the exact same as I had previously but mine was stolen. Suction is strong with no chance of dropping whilst driving/wet. Removal can take an extra few seconds but that’s due to the strength of suction, no complaints here. Only gripe is the price, in this instance premium price for a premium product though.
As others have found my original failed on the USB port and also the suction disk failed, although my 5000 is a fair few years old now.
The original suction bit I think failed due to UV degradation so with this new one I wont tend to leave it stuck on the windscreen for months at a time especially when the suns beating down on the screen and only fit it when I want to use it.
Moving to the USB port, well I wasnt surprised this started to fail, micro USB’s are just not great when it comes to their robustness so I wasnt surprised it started to fail, you can repair it as there are a couple of screws under the sticker that allows you access to the PCB but it is a very fiddly soldering job to replace it, as my suction disk had failed I didnt bother, but the port could be replaced.
On my new one I’ve cable tied the cable to the mount to relieve any strain on the USB port, it does mean you cant unplug it but you generally dont need to.
Its annoying that its over 30, it really isnt worth that kind of money but without it the Nav is almost useless so they have you over a barrel.
I use a Truckers 6000 Satnav, the cable on the old mount was becoming worn and pitted due to removing from truck every night. I started to a new job and I couldn’t rely on it charging up the unit due to the cables being worn as my deliveries were mostly town and cities, so decided to buy a new mount and cable as just as cheap as buying a cable only. Fitted my Aatnav to the mount and plugged it in and never had any issues with it from there on. Works well .
This is the second mount I have bought in 3 years. I use it nearly everyday for my TomTom either for work or for personal trips so it gets used a lot. It charges my device really well and the design of it means it’s easily removable but there are a couple of downsides with it’s design too. After a while, it seems to stop charging or charging on & off when you are driving. Any slight movement and it stops working. After my second purchase I realised what the issue is – the tiny usb connector on the back of the mount. It is very fragile! The way you remove it means the connector gets knocked a lot which causes it to come loose inside the unit. You either need to leave it stuck to the windscreen so you are not removing it all the time (not ideal if your car is parked outside) or be very careful when removing it. Another issue is that the rubber sucker doesn’t seem to like cold windscreens (especially in the morning) and doesn’t always stick and falls off after a minute or two, no matter how hard you try and lock it in place. Sometimes I have to jam it between the dash and windscreen to secure it. Not the biggest issue, but more of an annoyance! All in all, it does it’s job but with a couple of issues and a slightly expensive price tag!
Yet another replacement for my TomTom trucker 6000. Exactly the same as the broken original one. Does the job exactly as the original one did, but very expensive, as is all TomTom stuff. I only needed the stand, but it comes as a set and you have to pay for a new cable, plus a new plug, etc. I find that the stands only last me about 8 or 9 months, before they stop working ( the wires inside dont work) even though i take very good care with mine, its never treated roughly and is always stored in a padded box (specifically made) when not in use.
