Decent throughput from this diminutive wee dongle!
i can achieve a steady 200/250mbps with only the occasional dropout.
Worth the money as they’re certainly not the cheapest dongles you can buy.
🙂
Having had these before I knew that simplicity itself by just plugging in and the laptop recognised the adapter and installed it within seconds.Great price and as always very fast delivery.
I have now brought 3 of these and they work flawlessly, just plug them in and connect to your wi fi,
Only on one of them I had to use the supplied cd to install the drivers on my pc (but that was an older pc)
Very easy to set up and good quality for the price.
Installed in a couple of minutes along with essential driver downloaded from tp-link site . Old wifi adapter had given up the ghost and this simple little replacement got us fully functional in no time . Would recommend .
This little thing is awesome! It really, really works like mad. ** I get constant download speeds of 12Mbps+, which is close the the max of my internet bandwidth.
– It’s very cheap cost-wise for the great performance it gives you
– It’s small(ish), though it will look big connected to your laptop
– Comes with a 3′ USB extension cable which I definitely recommend using. It helps position the device, and keeps it from crowding your laptop or from being destroyed by being knocked out of your PC’s front USB port.
– Has a diffused green LED under the white plastic to let you know it’s working, instead of the blinding blue LEDs that everyone uses these days. The light turns off when it’s not powered (like when you hit Standby on your PC). NOTE: It’s still annoying in a dark room when I’m trying to sleep, but a few post-it notes helps that.
– The software is relatively simple to install and use, and allows you to use other products to manage your WiFi instead.
– The current driver, software, and documents come on a mini CD and are all up to date with what’s available on TP-Link’s web site
– The documentation is good, but it could use some more detail.
Not a new design, and it took a bit of experimentation to disable my laptop’s onboard wifi, but once sorted it worked really well, totally eliminating the problem of poor reception at distance from my router. Very reliable connection, no drop-outs. Happy!
I had an ageing usb wifi adapter that was beginning to show it’s age (dropping signal etc.), so ordered this as I have numerous TP Link products. I was not disappointed !
Our laptop internal wifi card was becoming unreliable. The replacement was more expensive that this, and required considerable dismantling of the laptop to fix. This plugged and worked instantly and i hardware disabled the on board card
This made my internet speed so much faster and what I was expecting from my ISP speed. I used to get less than 100Mbps from a desktop network card but this is a massive improvement going above 500Mbps. I recommend this if you are struggling to get good speed. Works well through walls and long distance.
No negatives to mention or qualms, it is still working for me as we speak. I needed a Wi-Fi toggle that also gave me Bluetooth so that I could connect my AirPods and separate keyboard that also gave me Wi-Fi on this has done the job. I just hope it lasts as the previous one that I had by the same brand didn’t last very long for some reason. Will update if so.
I recently purchased this tp link adapter for my computer, and it’s been a game-changer. The installation was straightforward, and it instantly boosted my connection speed and reliability. Whether I’m streaming, gaming, or working on important tasks, the WiFi adapter ensures a stable and fast internet connection. Its compact design is also a plus, as it doesn’t clutter my workspace. If you’re struggling with weak WiFi signals or slow speeds, investing in a WiFi adapter like this one is definitely worth it — it’s made a noticeable difference in my online experience.
This reads wireless networks really well and is no hassle to setup. It’s compactness means my Cat will stop trying to use it as a stair to jump on onto my desk, like my last adapter!
I was mad when I saw cd for installation! My tiny comp doest have it !!!! But after plug in I went into networks display, type password for router and works just fine Don’t worry if it’s not ask U to take any action after plug in, U have to go to Urs network settings and just type password
The speed is absolutely crazy. I was using a 600mbs adapter and my speeds were terrible. Average of 7mbs per second even with optic fibre. After installing this, I was using 5GHZ and boom! Over 400mbs every second. I really recommend this so much if you have no Ethernet available
In a large house with the wifi source inconveniently placed for my setup with a new (very) mini laptop, the internet verged upon the unusable. I would take my laptop downstairs and nearer the source, particularly for a heavy download project I was undertaking which, upstairs on the new computer, proved actually impossible. Even opening web pages proved difficult, and the connection was frequently dropping altogether.
I had some initial problems with setting up the antenna until I tried restarting the computer, at which point the alternative internet connection became visible.
I checked the speed of my old connection against the new one – some 4mb/s rocketing up to forty. No more dropping connections, and the downloads now way faster than with my laptop downstairs.
I make no pretence to geekery. Some will, no doubt, regard 40mb/s as slow, even pathetic, but for me this product has an amazingly cheap solution to all my problems. (Those who feel otherwise may want to hunt down something more expensive, but anyone operating at my level with my problem looking for my solution, you’ve found it).
EASY REVIEW FOE THIS. I bought a cheap one and it was rubbish!! Think this cost me 15 ish and it works from downstairs to upstairs give me around 30mb internet , enough to stream videos … perfect for me for a desktop pc that I got just to use for videos and putting music to my phone , Don’t bother with any of the others just buy this and save the hassle
Plugged it in and installed the driver (already built into the product, you don’t have to download it from online) it instantly started working and my speeds are much faster than I was getting before. WIFI 6 is a game changer and this product is an exemplary representation of that. I would definitely recommend
Well, I bought this TP-Link USB on the 31st January 2022, and it’s currently the 1st September 2023, so I’d say it’s done a pretty good job! I was sceptical after my last TP-Link USB broke suddenly, but I would actually recommend you buy this
It’s compatible with all operating systems that I know of. Windows, macOS, Linux, possibly BSD? (I would assume so), you should consider purchasing this, it is grea
Purchased to add a new PC to the office short term where wired access wasn’t possible.
This fit the bill and generally worked well. Best of all it was nice and cheap for a known good brand.
Had an issue early on where it failed to connect and Windows reported an error with the adapter but once reinstalled it was faultless.
Bought as a tempory measure the TP-Link AC600 Nano Wi-Fi Bluetooth 4.2 USB Adapter, Dual Band Wireless does what it says it does, I just plugged it into the pc and didn’t need the installation disc. Small and discrete and it is nice to be able to bluetooth my phone to the PC without using cables.
I was struggling to get better Wi-Fi signal on my laptop as the router was pretty far away. I got this dongle to having a lot of hope in my mind. What a mistake! It was easy to set up, the Wi-Fi speed is definitely several times better and download speed on pc is great. I was so happy that I chose this to buy! Thank you!
Arrived promptly. I’ve been using for 2 weeks and, so far, it works well with a TP-Link booster. Easy to install, but best installed at back of computer as it could be vulnerable to breakage if used at the front.
Super easy to connect to the net. The only thing is if you’ve not got a cd drive and also no internet to download the drivers. I had to use someone else’s laptop to download the drivers and put them on a usb drive. From there it’s very simple.
Easy to setup and works straight out of the box. Once you plug in the unit finds the drivers it needs and doe the rest.
Very much enjoy a low maintenance experience. Has bee flawless so far, of course I have only had the unit for about two weeks now.
Great product and works well. WiFi signal isn’t the best and can get interference when walking past the PC using bluetooth/if your phone is near when listening wirelessly. However this is expected and can be fixed by using a USB extender closer to the desktop
I bought this so my main computer could talk to my wifi printer. I plugged it into the USB and it connected and installed so fast that I missed it doing it! Checked in device manager and there it was working as expected. I’ve had no issues with it and the wifi range seems good. Would recommend.
Had an ageing but decent Netgear A6210 AC1200. The latest windows update resulted in this wifi adapter going down with a driver issue. Netgear’s own latest driver was installed already but reverting to an old Microsoft driver andan internet search discovered a later Netgear driver which worked. This was only sold as compatible with up to windows 8 but i was getting 330 Mbps out of it on win 11. I’m on a different floor in my home office, and the oposite end of my house to the Virgin Router; under the TV. (yes I know!) and I have a 1000 Mbps contract. Unfortunately I have a 2.4 Ghz door bell on my system which I think doesn’t help with wifi speeds. However this little Wifi 6 adapter acheived 500 Mbps so an improvement of about 50%, but also piece of mind it wont be obsolete for a while too. I like the indicator light on the top but it is a very light device so I might get a sticky pad to hold it in the ideal position. I found I could get an extra 40 Mbps out of it by moving it around and adjusting the antennas but the latter seemed to work best in a vertical position. It gets very slightly warm to the touch in use, but I was putting it through its paces. It was also very easy to get up and running with the onboard driver. I would say very good for the price paid.
I was having alot of issues with my previous WiFi adapter and this little small thing has sorted me right out. I can now stream and play games properly with no issues at all which is perfect . I definitely recommend picking this up if you are having any connectivity issues on your laptop or pc.
I will say tho you can come into 1 issue which is the actual finding you WiFi but it is easily resolved 🙂
When these are working they work really well but sometimes has the tendency to need to be pulled out then reinserted to work again, Also have to looked around on the internet as seems to be a common problem with these but when working a majority of the time are good
I bought this for a Linux system but you need to compile the driver yourself to get it to work. I couldn’t be bothered so ended up swapping it for an older TP-link dongle off my Windows system. Older dongle works on Linux, new dongle works on windows so it was ok in the end.
I was honestly a little dubious because my old wireless adaptor had to be attached to my motherboard and came with 3 antennas (mind you this was over a decade ago now). I decided to get a new one and was surprised by how small and cheap and easy this little adaptor was to install. Plugged it into the first USB slot I saw and got it set up in seconds. It comes with a disc for the drivers but it wasn’t needed. Disconnected my old adaptor and my connection was instantly so much better.
I don’t know why I’m so surprised that technology just keeps getting better, but it’s an A+ from me. I only use it for some light gaming, so you might need something more heavy duty for anything more, but from some of the other reviews I think this adaptor will have you covered in most cases.

I got this for its small size and price and didn’t need anything spectacular.
It worked absolutely fine to start with- Windows 10- plug and play. Never got full speed on it but I thought that was just down to it being a budget one.
Fast forward a few months and this thing is disconnecting every few minutes.
Long story short tried everything. Windows said it had the most up to date driver.
Finally went to TP-Link site for Drivers (should have been first port of call)
Installed them and now rock solid connection at my full download and upload speed.
Hopefully this will save someone some time faffing around because, now it’s working, it’s a really good little adapter.
Installed on my mother’s old Win 7 PC so I can use the internet when I visit even though she doesn’t have her own internet connection. I use BT broadband at my own home and I’m able to use my account to access her neighbour’s BT hotspot from my mother’s PC. The adapter was easy to install and I used the software provided by TP-Link. The adapter picked up a good range of signals from my mother’s neighbours (mostly p/w protected) and I could of used my mobile phone wireless tethering facility, but it was more convenient to use her neighbour’s BT hotspot. It connected with no problems and I entered my BT details as required to get the connection. The adapter maintained the connection without requiring the password to be re-entered even after being switched off and on again. This is not my usual experience when using a BT hotspot, which normally requires the password to be re-entered if the connection is lost. I’m not sure if this is indicative of slightly questionable TP-Link software. With the adapter still connected to my mother’s PC it seems that it’s permanently connected to the neighbour’s BT hotspot! Not what I expected at all.
Received quickly by post, well packaged. Came with a mini CD with installation software although the device didn’t seem to need it as it immediately began working when plugged it. It would be worth checking if your router supports 5 GHz as it might be worth investing in the 14.95 5 GHz AC version of this USB Adaptor (with caveats).
My speeds average out around 62 Mbps, I crossed referenced this with my phone and my phone had the same speed on the 2 GHz band, so it is performing as intended. I currently have a 200 Mbps subscription, on the 5 GHz band using my phone (S6 Edge) I was getting around 160 Mbps. You might be wondering then why I didn’t go the the 5 GHz version, my reasons for this are that 5 GHz typically seems to have poorer signal quality over distance and lower penetration through certain materials, I live in an post war house that has a lot of steel beams through the structure and my 5 GHz signal, although faster tends to be less reliable and weaker. In summary I would say the best option for someone in my position would be to go for the 2.4 GHz version, if however you’re router will be in the same room as your computer or perhaps only on the other side of a stud wall, go for the 5 GHz.
I have had this adaptor for a while now and performance has been superb, the signal has not dropped at all since I got it. For the record I am using Windows 8. Great price for a quality product from a trusted brand.
