It did exactly what I wanted it to and was easy to set up. Probably the best adapter you’ll get for the price. Will definitely buy another if I need a spare.
Did have to install the drivers 4 times. Most software that comes with drivers, which you have to download, doesn’t seem to function much. Could be a windows problem though, Microsoft do keep breaking things.
i bought this to replace the built-in bluetooth adapter of my laptop. All the audio stuttering issues and weird bluetooth hiccups were fixed. Make sure to disable the onboard bluetooth adapter when you use this(in device manager)
make sure to read the manual to disable the correct device.
Easy to use by simply plugging into a spare USB port. Once connected, it always keeps connection to my mouse and bluetooth headphones.
However, there are occasions where after a reboot of my desktop PC that the dongle won’t work without another reboot and crashes Windows 11, so it loses a star.
Easy plug and play like it says on the box, Windows grabs the drivers and boom it’s working perfectly! I love it so much, I’ve not had any lag from it at all using my controller(s) over Bluetooth, using my Bluetooth Earbuds with it connected to my PC works effortlessly and perfectly with no issues.
Purchased this as my motherboards built in Bluetooth was lacking, poor signal. This has saved the day. It works very well, has an up to date Bluetooth standard and can connect multiple devices at once. Was very easy to use, simply plug and play on windows. Great price too. Very impressed. Bluetooth dongles have come a long way since I used them las
It works well and has a solid range, I use it on my HTPC to link with a remote and it’s great at that. Low profile as well, and without any annoying flashing lights. Great value and very reliable.
Had a few chinese bluetooth adaptors before and they were all rubbish, connection was not good and constantly fall off. TP-Link one is great, it works good, the range is great and as expected! Never buy cheap bluetooth adaptors guys, buy the good ones like TP- Link or any other trusted brand.
I recently purchased the TP-Link Nano USB Bluetooth 5.0 Adapter, and I must say, it has surpassed my expectations. This compact device promises and delivers high-performance Bluetooth connectivity, making it an essential accessory for anyone looking to connect multiple devices wirelessly.
Firstly, the plug-and-play feature of this adapter is its standout quality. It was incredibly easy to set up – I simply plugged it into my computer’s USB port, and it was ready to go within seconds, requiring no additional software installation or complicated setup procedures. This user-friendly approach is a huge plus, especially for those who are not tech-savvy.
The connectivity is another area where this Bluetooth adapter shines. It offers a stable connection to multiple devices at once, which is impressive for such a small device. Whether it’s connecting to headphones, speakers, keyboards, or mice, the connection remains strong and consistent. The Bluetooth 5.0 technology ensures that the data transmission is faster and more secure, enhancing the overall user experience.
Moreover, the long-range capability of this dongle is noteworthy. Unlike other Bluetooth adapters that have a limited range, the TP-Link Nano allows for connectivity even when the connected devices are not in close proximity. This feature is particularly useful in a large room or office setting, where devices may not be side by side.
The compact size of the adapter is the icing on the cake. Its nano design means it barely protrudes from the USB port, reducing the risk of it being knocked out or damaged. This design choice makes it an ideal companion for laptops, especially for those who are on the move.
In conclusion, the TP-Link Nano USB Bluetooth 5.0 Adapter is a reliable, high-performance device that offers convenience and connectivity in a tiny package. Its plug-and-play functionality, combined with long-range connectivity and support for multiple devices, makes it a highly recommended purchase for anyone looking to enhance their wireless connectivity options.
Do you not have internal bluetooth? Is your internal bluetooth really buggy and slow? If yes to either question then get one of these, it allows multiple devices to be connected via bluetooth to your pc/laptop, it provides blazing fast transfer speeds and connections to controllers etc (see Bluetooth 5.0), this thing is super small and discrete but despite its tinie tiny size and lack of large sticky outy antenna this thing is very stable, fast, reliable and has a decent range…this things amazing and surpasses all expectations.
Being a TP Link product as you can imagine build quality is 10/10, i use a large array of tp links products around the home there a brand you can trust.
It is a good bluetooth dongle if you want to buy it , i would recommend , it connects well with a ps4 controller and i was able to transfer the files from my phone to my pc
I wanted a way to connect my wireless headphones and an XBox wireless game controller to my desktop PC which didn’t have Bluetooth natively. Really simple plug and play on Windows 10 – solid connection to both devices and just let me wondering why I didn’t get one of these before now. Really simple and effective
It’s cheapest one that actually works. Dont expect great range across multiple rooms in that price. If you just need a bluetooth to use devices in the same room this dongle is perfect choice.
If you encounter any issues make sure you have installed driver from TP Link as Windows being Windows can sometimes mess things up.
As with other TP-Link gear I have, it is simple and straight forward to get it up and running. A quick typing for their support website and the driver was downloaded and installed in a few minutes. It found the device I needed to connect to in seconds and it’s playing music perfectly as I type this.
Used to connect keyboard and mouse. I tried a cheap BT dongle and it was unreliabel and very furstrating This worked perfectly out of the box, no issues. worth paying for.
After buying some wireless headphones I decided it was time to give the desktop some much needed Bluetooth.
What do I use it for?
-Xbox controllers
-Wireless Headphones
-Speakers
Pros:
Solid price for bluetooth 4.0
Easy to take out and use somewhere else.
Cons:
Sometimes spotty when using the headphones, however this is only when connection would be blocked by distance etc.
Just plug in – Windows 10 automatically installs driver. Easy connection to my two different Bluetooth headphones including a Sony WH-CH720N. Pretty good sound quality. I had experimented first with a couple of products from other manufacturers and was disappointed. This tp-link Bluetooth 5.0 Nano USB Adapter just works from the moment you plug it in! Wow!
When the adapter is plugged in & up to date, you have to go on Settings -> Bluetooth -> + Add bluetooth or other device & reconnect your devices. They won’t auto connect as it’s a new adapter/device.
Works great, thanks
This works fine with my Ds5 on pc via ds4 windows. Its plug and go.
My only reservation is that it needs a line a sight to work otherwise the Ds5 gives red light warning and disconnects.
I know this is an issue with all cheap dongles.
So anyone who can’t always have a clear line of sight with this dongle shouid be wary.
I have Bluetooth enabled hearing aids. Listening to anything on my HP pavilion Windows 10 PC meant using headphones that is uncomfortable over my hearing aids. The parcel arrived while I was listening to something on my PC. I unpacked it plugged it into a USB 3 slot removed the headphones the Bluetooth symbol appeared I clicked on it asked for Bluetooth devices, it found my hearing aids, I asked it to connect and hey presto it worked. This is a wonderful product for old pcs that do not have Bluetooth installed.
It isn’t Bluetooth 5, but that isn’t an issue. It has better range and reliability than my phone, which is pretty impressive for a 10 product. Would recommend. It’s hard to get wireless connectivity right, especially since 2GHz is so overused, but it’s good to see that TP-LINK still holds up.
I first plugged this device in with trepidation as it’s labelled for Windows PC’s. Initially nothing. Damn, another product that doesn’t work on a Mac. But then I decided to google it to make sure I wasn’t being too hasty.
I can’t take credit for this find, but I can share the knowledge. Before you even fit the dongle to the Mac follow this process:
1) Hold down the ‘cmd’ key on your Mac keyboard and then simultaneously click the mouse over the bluetooth icon on the top right hand side of the screen. After a second or so an expanded bluetooth menu appears that lists the Version & address of the Bluetooth adaptor in your Mac. Take a photo or make a note of these values.
2) Get a wired mouse & keyboard (or a suitable non bluetooth dongle alternative like a Logitech alternative) and plug it in, then go into the bluetooth menu and turn off the bluetooth on your Mac by unchecking the on / off button option
3) Turn off the Mac
4) Plug in the new TP link Bluetooth dongle
5) Reboot your Mac
6) When back into iOS, if you know what the equivalent of the command key is on the wired / wireless (non bluetooth keyboard) you are now using (I think it’s ALT on a Win keyboard), go to the bluetooth icon at the top of the screen and click ‘Cmd’ (for Mac) or ‘Alt’ (for Win), then simultaneously click on the bluetooth icon with your mouse. When the expanded Bluetooth menu appears you should now see different Version / Address details in your menu bar (e.g. the bluetooth module in the Mac has been replaced by the TP link adaptor). If it doesn’t, repeat steps 1-5 above
7) Now go to the Systems Preferences (grey cog) icon , then go to mouse, and add a mouse – whilst it will add it, it won’t work straight away – I don’t know why, but you then need to go to the Bluetooth settings menu and ‘Connect’ it. It takes a good few seconds but eventually it kicks in and works
8) Do the same for keyboard / magic trackpads in the respective menus, then connect in the Bluetooth menu
9) add any other peripherals directly in the bluetooth menu
10) That should be it, you should be good and done. I haven’t tried it yet but I assume you just remove the dongle and re-enable Bluetooth with it disconnected to re-enable the internal bluetooth. No coding required, it seems to work. A dead giveaway was when I saw a Bluetooth speak from another floor in the house appear in the ‘add a device menu’. Sometimes I was struggling to connect devices 3 feet away as the Mac mini 2018 Bluetooth connectivity issues are widely documented.
Best of luck getting it sorted, but I can now happily report no mouse / keyboard lag !!!! What was an unforgivable oversight by the Apple engineering team has now been resolved with a 10 dongle. Unforgiveable!! Thank you TP Link / Amazon!
UPDATE 01-Dec-20 : Ended up returning as periodically the Bluetooth would switch back to the internal unit despite attempting the config string inputs into Terminal.
In the end I ended up moving the MacMini onto tall rubber feet to elevate it from the table, and placed it directly in front of me. It’s still not perfect, but it’s just workable . What’s worse still, the 2020 Mac Mini still has the same issues so it’s not been resolved.
There is nothing wrong with the product itself, and it ought to work well in plug and play with native drivers IF windows 10 Bluetooth support didn’t let it down. That’s apparently no fault of this product, though, so I haven’t marked it down, and there is a workaround.
1) WHAT HAPPENED TO ME USING WIN10 PLUG AND PLAY: Product installs immediately. All drivers present and correct. Paired an audio speaker successfully. But wouldn’t play, and in sound control panel it persistently said the device was ‘disconnected’. The internet is absolutely full of people reporting exactly the same problem, and loads of suggested “solutions” that simply don’t work – I tried most if not all of them! After further research – likely cause is that it seems until Win 8 Microsoft left it to hardware device suppliers to provide their own Bluetooth stack software, but from 8 onward Microsoft implemented a plug and play driver solution within windows itself. But this is inadequate/incomplete in some respects and they are currently working on completing it – no immediate solution therefore unless manufacturers provide 3rd party drivers.
HOW I SOLVED IT EVENTUALLY: TP-Link claim to provide pre-Win8 drivers for the UB4a but the link on their website doesn’t lead to drivers! However they often talk about UB400 at the same time, and UB400 does offer a driver in the support page for Win 7 and below. I decided to risk trying it with this product on Win 10. Result: it installed perfectly first time and the product now works with devices exactly as expected. You just have to right click the Bluetooth icon in the notification area to gain access to the Bluetooth functions, as obviously this software predates win10 and is not integrated into the win10 native bluetooth interface. The driver software is badged as “CSR Harmony Wireless Software Stack” and although it is a bit long in the tooth, it is a perfectly acceptable substitute until Microsoft get round to finally fixing their inbuilt bluetooth software stack driver.
UPDATE: I need to revise the above having just taken delivery of super Bluetooth Headphones which I’ve reviewed elsewhere. These DID connect to this product when using Win10 plug and play mode without any additional driver. My previous attempts had been with an older Bluetooth cube speaker. So, as other reviewers have said – you might be lucky with plug and play. Seems this may depend on newness of Bluetooth item to be connected. Or, probably for older Bluetooth items, you may need to resort to the older driver as described above. I guess it is down to Windows not recognising/supporting older products – another example of software-driven product obsolescence keeping landfill busy and manufacturers happy. Well I don’t give in that easily! My Bluetooth cube speaker lives to fight another day.
