This angle finder has delivered consistent results and is easy to use but I gave it only 4* as I have found the twist lock can become very stiff and difficult to undo which can be very frustrating.
Useful tool showing exactly what is supposed to.Only bad thing is don’t leave the battery in if you don’t use it, I left in two weeks later I need it and the battery is flat so take the battery if you don’t use it, otherwise worth the money timesave
Decent enough for shorter cuts. The 0.3 tolerance would be no good on a long run but doing woodwork on stairs is fine. Pretty cheap feeling and tiny display but it seems to do the job.
It would have been really nice if this was also an angle finder when closed but it isn’t. It simply measures the angle of the opening between the rulers
Solid build and quality as always from trend, and at a great price from Amazon A plastic case or cover would have completed things nicely, just to make sure it doesn’t get battered in the toolbox, but guess I’ll just keep it in its cardboard box.
Bought this for when I do funny shaped buildings. When I’ve needed to cut plasterboards to suit a certain shape, just stick the angle square at the desired angle,lock it in place and transfer to what ever material you need to cut. has worked well for me and has come in handy
I’m happy enough with this. I didn’t pay a lot of money for it. The ruler lengths are nice, well finished and easy to read. They fit together very well. The display is fine, functional, it’s what you get at this price point.
The only issue I’d have is the hinge, the lock nut works fine, I just can’t see it surviving in the tool shed. It would be a better tool if it had a steel hinge and lock nut, it would be worth the extra couple of euro/pounds.
As you’d expect from Trend, it’s a good, solid piece of kit. I’m a keen DIY-er and have used it to measure ridge tile angles and for getting the angle of cut right on block paving.
Good points:
battery is included;
The digital readout is clear, although not back-illuminated;
The markings on the rule are clear, so it’s good for measuring too.
“Could Do Better” Point:
For the price, I’d expect it to come in a case. Instead you have to buy the specific case for this tool separately
Handy Hint:
Definitely get the case. It has a space to keep the battery out of the tool itself. This is useful if, like me, you won’t use it often and will prevent it from decomposing in the tool after a few years of storage.
