Easy to install solar up/down lamps. Ideal if you don’t have easy access to a mains supply. Not very bright, but again, more for aesthetic than function. Losses a star as lighting doesn’t last as long as would expected. Otherwise good purchase.
For the money I wasn’t expecting much but am surprised how good this light is for what it costs. Got it purely to light up our house number and for that it’s perfect.
Bought these before, for harden fence, put up 4, and nice light on foot path. Even in winter when not much sunlight, they look good and worked for 3 years for me, only replacing a few now. Very happy
These were so easy to install and whilst they’re not the brightest, they look very effective and illuminate the wall panels just as I’d hoped they would. Great value, very happy
We bought some very similar to these from another company, who stated that they charge via daylight, however, after an hour they went off.
So far, we haven’t had many bright days, but they are working as soon as it goes dusk and we get about 3/4 hours from them, which isn’t too bad. I would definitely recommend.
I only buy Solar Centre lights now as they are so much better than other brands. I’ve mounted these up a wall 7 ish feet above ground level and they light the ground around them really well. Easy to install, great value
Look good, bright enough as a pair either side of door. Worked in evenings after days of poor sunlight, but so far have not lasted all night.
Excellent purchase spoilt by use of non stainless fixing screws, now showing runs of rust on and below them
Looks good, easy to install and suits my purpose – gentle light over wall art without wires. Light not that bright – more just for accent – but impressed with the charging. In winter, even with no direct sunlight on the north side of a wall, I get an hour or so of light. I expect the summer hours to be much better.
This has been great for lighting up my house number but would be nowhere near bright enough for anything more than that. Thankfully that’s what I bought it for.
I will echo other reviewers in saying that the bottom clear part that you have to unscrew is very fragile. Ideally you only want to undo it to set the brightness and then do it up just the once. If you don’t treat it gently it will break.
Looks good on the wall, quite bright when it’s been in the sun all day. The screw top is a bit suspect though, if you tighten it too much it strips the thread and becomes loose, the screw thread is too fine, should be a bit coarser thread (an engineer talking here) Overall not a bad buy.
I brought 2 for either side of my summer house door.
1 of them lasts well into the early hours but one is dead by 10.20 which this time of the year not great.
PLEASE NOTE. I HAVE NOT USED THIS PRODUCT YET. MY NEIGHBOUR HAS A PAIR AND COMPLAINS THE LIGHT ONLY LASTS A COUPLE OF HOURS (ISH ) . WHEN I FIT MINE , MY LOCATION IS BETTER WITH A MORE SUNNY LOCATION.
SO NOT A REAL REVIEW . THEY ARE RATHER NICE LOOKING WHEN EITHER SIDE OF A FRONT DOOR
Bought three of these less than a month ago, to illuminate a newly installed garden deck. Easy to install and operate and cast a nice soft light, Liked them so much we decided to buy another four. Until, that is, I looked at the current pricing. Aug ’21 – 14.99 ea. Sept ’21 24.99. They’re having a laugh.
Brought two of these one for the front and one for the back. Look amazing, but one of them didn’t come with any fixings in the box (probably a Friday afternoon one) luckily I had some that fitted. Other than that would definitely rate them and for the money a bargain.
Great value for money. Really nice little light which was easy to install and looks good. It is solar powered so looks very neat and tidy after installation. One watch out is that it is just not that bright but does the job that I wanted which is to show my door number in the dark.
I have had two of these lights up for over three days and they have worked perfectly as advertised. On sunny days they last longer, on cloudy days, not so long or bright. As with other comments, they arrived quickly, very easy to mount and are reasonably bright for a rear patio with plenty of sun. Time will tell if this continues.
Cosmetically, there were minor blemishes on the lights aluminium style casing, very minor but still, mildly disappointing. As the lights were going outside, there was no real point returning or making a fuss, I can live with it.
But, I will reflect my disappointment in the rating, so the retailer will hopefully take note for future customers. Otherwise, I recommend the lights and it would have been 5 stars.
I already have some of these lights from a major high street DIY store and wanted some more for my patio. Having found these near identical ones at a better price I have fitted 3 of them in addition to my existing. I am on the whole pleased with them they do seem to hold enough charge to illuminate my patio for the evening. The only criticism I have is the poly carbonate lenses on the store bought ones are clear whereas these are opaque which seems to reduce the light given off in comparison. I am not sure why this has been done as clear lenses would seem to be better?
They do look quite nice on the wall though.
Nice Quality Unit. The spread and quality of light is also very good and nicely defused by defuser plate which twists off to access switch.
User instructions and diagrams are very small and are confusing. Basically the unit has a 3 position switch, bright, off and less bright.
It says leave unit to charge for 3 days. What they dont tell you is that the unit comes with the switch defaulted in the OFF (charging) position so after 3 days nothing happens! I thought I had a duff unit until I investigated further to find I just needed to move the switch off charge to another position!
The light covers a wide area thanks to the diameter of the unit so a couple along the side of a normal house should do fine. I havent determined how long the unit stays on at night yet but unit and light quality looks that good I have ordered 3 more plus there is now a PIR version of the same unit available. So far highly recommended.
What is not to love about a light that looks so stylish and costs nothing to run. I purchased these to place either side of my front door which runs down the back of a rather dimly lit side return and was looking for something akin to a standard exterior halogen downlighter, but required no mains connection; these fitted the bill perfectly, albeit a little larger than it looks in the pictures. However, once they had both been mounted on the wall, they looked ideally scaled and performed perfectly from the first night onwards. Despite not much daylight reaching the side return, the little light the cells did receive was well used, with good light output all night. Don’t expect an arc lamp output, but two of these are adequate enough for your door key to find its target lock, even in the dead of night, so it scores highly from me…plus did I mention its free to run! The only negative / critisicm I could make if we are being really picky, is that the mounting screws on the side are very visible and spoil what is otherwise a uniform and sleek exterior, but that is a minor thing and certainly does not ruin a perfect exterior solar light. In fact this has to rate as one of the most stylish; try looking for any other half-decent exterior solar powered light and you’ll see what I mean; they all looked like they’ve been designed in the dark…there’s a pun there somewhere!
