No complaints at all. Keyboard, mouse and webcam flawlessly toggle between my work and personal PCs without issue. A little on the light side so required some cable wrangling to make it sit in the desired place, but nothing that basic cable management doesn’t solve.
Used to switch k/b and mouse between PC and Raspberry Pi, at the press of a button. Two spare USB ports mean you can share memory sticks between them too, and/or (with an adaptor) SD cards. Excellent !
Works great for switching between gaming PC and work laptop dock. I have a Logitech G402 and mechanical Corsair K70 keyboard. Both work fine with this, including the light control on both and the DPI & polling rate settings on the mouse.
The LED indicating whether 1 or 2 is active is not unpleasantly bright unlike some appliances, which is a positive.
Does exactly what it should, is nice and compact, no complaints.
I was going to get a KVM switch to switch between my work and personal setup, but with my personal setup being a gaming PC, a KVM switch capable of handling the data throughput of my gaming PC is mega expensive so I went with this. This doesn’t do HDMI/DP switching but does work very well as a USB switch. Can switch up to 4 devices between two different computers. Works very well and never had a problem with it.
Exactly what I needed to when I started working from home. I connect three USB devices to my laptop, and flick a switch if I need to use my personal desktop.
I use this switch daily for my work/home setup, with my gaming mouse and keyboard (which takes up 2 USB ports), and sometimes my Microsoft camera. The switch worked as expected from the moment I plugged it in, and hasn’t failed me once in the 3+ months I’ve had it.
Been using this switch for a couple of weeks now and pretty happy with it.
I’m using it to switch a mouse, laptop, and webcam between two pcs and it works well, not had any issues so far. It was completely plug and play, everything worked once I’d plugged the USB cables into each pc and given it (optional) micro USB power from an old charger I had lying around. The switch looks neat and is compact, so perfectly happy to have it sat under my monitor on the desk.
I paid 30 which seems pretty competitive compared to other switches I’ve seen.
Just make sure wherever you wany to put it is within reach as it doesn’t come with a remote like some switches do – for me this isn’t a problem at all though as it just lives on my desk.
Does exactly what it says it will.
The only thing that could make this better is if it also switched HDMI as well (I have a separate switcher for that!)
I know it’s not exactly a household name, but UGREEN products have always just worked for me, anything from microphone cables to USB docks.
Great product, had issues connecting it with my Dell XPS 15 using the thunderbolt ports (this is a thunderbolt issue though), otherwise it has been working perfectly for years, no issues with the product itself, it sits on my desk and works perfectly
I wanted to use my existing Keyboard, Mouse, and ASTRO MixAmp Pro TR with my Xbox Series X but have the ability to switch them to my MacBook Air without changing cables. I didn’t know if this would work, but decided to give it a try. At first, my MixAmp didn’t work which I suspected was due to a power issue. However, I hooked up the external power using the Micro-USB cable and everything works fine now. One button press and everything moves between macOS and the Xbox without any hassle.
I use this for my multi PC set up allowing me to have keyboard and mouse that I can use across multiple devices without having to unplug everything I want to work a different .machine
It works perfectly for me. I keep a keyboard, webcam, and wireless gaming mouse receiver plugged in at all times and I have never had any issues with it. I’ve never had to use any external power, though I’m glad the functionality exists in case I need to use some more power-hungry devices.
I was able to test the USB ports and can confirm they are recognised as USB 3, though the small manual it came with seemed to be for a different product as that specified USB 2.
Overall I’d recommend it. It saves me from switching my devices between my work laptop and gaming PC twice a day, which doesn’t sound like much, but it’s just so much easier and less fiddly to do it at the click of a button.
got this as a replacement for my older usb hub which could not support my 2k webcam stream.
this works fine, no issues with webcam, wireless mouse, wireless headset and keyboard plugged in. works perfec
Pretty small unit which is convenient for a smaller desk space.
Can handle multiple USB3 components, even keyboards with USB passthrough.
Slightly quickly behaviour on first boot sometimes – I occasionally have to hit the switch a couple times before it works on my computer, though this only seems to affect my mouse.
I use gaming peripherals (Steelseries apex Pro and steelseries rival 600) and its impressive that this little switch can handle them without any noticeable loss in performance.
Should do the job for just about anyone and is sleek and stylish.
Been using for a couple of months now, still working. One thing that could be improved on this is a separate switch cable so that you can have the wires separate from the switching function.
This is just what I wanted! I wasnt sure it would work with my old computer, I have a gaming rig and a Pentium 4 computer from 2000 with windows XP, I was unsure it would work but having 2 keyboards, 2 desks and 2 mice was a bit much in my small room, so I needed to try. but this works perfectly, I am using a Corsair keyboard k95 (Cherry MX) and a Scimitar RGB Elite Mouse and the RGB works on my gaming rig with usb 3.0 with both my keyboard and my mouse. On my xp computer which is USB 1.0 the RGB doesnt work but thats not surprising because usb 1.0 is old, but I wanted it to work perfectly on my gaming rig and just work on my xp machine and it does just that, I didnt need or really want rgb on my xp machine. So I’m really happy!
Very easy to set up. Does exactly as stated on the box. I used this so that I can use my MacBook Pro and Windows PC with one keyboard and mouse. It even allows me to share my Logitech Blue Mic and Logitech C922 webcam. Highly recommended.
This item is worth the cost. A decent box, the button gives a satisfying tactile click, and the USB male to male cables are top quality. Switches between PC and Xbox flawlessly.
However. It had issues with my system. I had a backlit keyboard and mouse connected (tested with no light or sync software running, as well as mouse only) and the device repeatedly disconnected and reconnected. I mention my peripherals because it seems the vast majority of problems in reviews stem from users with backlit/gaming keyboards. So I recommend this highly for everything **except** gaming peripherals.
The product is very convenient and saves the hassle of manually swapping my peripherals between my gaming PC and my work laptop every morning.
The only annoyance is that it maybe shouldn’t advertise as USB3.0 because while perhaps the inlets are technically rated as such, as I understand it USB3.0 has fewer channels than previous versions so when I connect the KVM to a USB3.0 inlet on the PC with more than one peripherals connected, it disconnects every now and then when it overuses the channels.
The device works as it should when connected to USB2.0 inlet.
The device does as it says, you can plug it in to two machines and swap 4 USB devices between them. As others have mentioned, the plastic finish doesn’t do the device justice, however, the cables that come with it do.
Reason for 4 stars, I have a webcam, streaming light, mechanical keyboard and Razer mouse attached. All work at the same time without power being plugged in to the device when being ran off a desktop or MacBook Pro mid 2015. However, at times my mouse will stop responding to movement, clicks and lights work but no movement. I need to wait 30 seconds and it comes back. Behaviour is consistent across computers and Linux, Mac and Windows. The behaviour continues after unplugging and replugging as well as adding a power supply to the device.
I use this device to switch between my gaming setup and my work laptop and it has been consistent and great.
I was a little worried at first when I connected my keyboard, wireless mouse, and webcam and my keyboard wasn’t working, but with some fiddling with how things were plugged in it worked fine. I imagine I was on the power limit of the device (but this could also be resolved by plugging in the extra power, I was just lazy and wanted fewer wires!)
I use a Corsair K70 Keyboard, Logitech g305 wireless mouse, and Logitech c920 webcam and all work perfectly between both computers. There’s no added latency which I can perceive while gaming either. It’s an ideal solution for adding a work laptop to an existing setup.
My only complaint is the plastic build quality and somewhat sketchy feeling of using a USB-A to USB-A (I would prefer USB-A to USB-A or USB-C to USB-C) does not inspire too much confidence but considering it works perfectly I’m probably over-thinking it! I wouldn’t really consider anything else as UGreen seems a reliable brand.
I really love the idea of this product and it saves me a real hassle in having 2 keyboards and mice to flick between my PC and laptop. 90% of the time, it really delivers. 10% of the time it causes great frustration.
For whatever reason, it has moments where my now single keyboard and mouse just lose all power as though they have been disconnected from my PC. Within 1 minute, it is back up and running again. This can happen multiple times a day and becomes increasingly annoying over time, clearly some kind of driver crash on my PC.
In respect to the laptop, I get a different issue. I have not experienced a loss of power where both devices are suddenly not recognised, but the mouse and keyboard have dropouts to the point if I press one keyboard key in a Word document, nothing happens and then suddenly that key returns 20-30 times likely the key push was never depressed. Additionally the mouse frequently drops out or lags across the screen.
So I have an issue on my PC which is more than likely driver related and then on the work supplied laptop it seems there is more of a latency issue or signal quality issue. Clearly something not quite right with this product, whether it’s the cables being used from the PC AND the laptop or if the drivers just aren’t fit for the job 100% of the time.
Frustrating as this is a really important and useful solution for me, but does come with an annoying cost in moments.
So I got a laptop for work and wanted to use my office setup which has a desktop PC already. This allowed me to use the same keyboard and mouse on both devices by just pressing a button on the top. It supports 4 in, 2 out, but perhaps not suitable for for high throughput devices based on the description. The 2 usb cables that came with the device just simply plug into one port on each system (had to get my head around multiple devices being supported through one cable). I did not need to worry about getting the power supply for the unit which is optional. I do use a RGB keyboard and mouse, and they still work fine. Tried with 4 usb devices and all seems to work at the same time.
The minor negatives are it decides for itself which device is 1 and 2 even though I tried wiring them the other way around. Also, it may need a few seconds to figure out the switch, or even requires pulling out the rear cables to reset if it does not want to work – which is about 1 time within a month of having the kit so rare enough not to be an issue of concern.
I am currently using this device between two Windows dektops. As I’m now working from home (as many of us are) I have my Gaming PC and work laptop on the same desk and I didnt want to have a two sets of Keyboard and mice.
It was recognised on both PCs instantly I didnt have to download any software etc just worked from the get go. There’s a small button on top of the device which switches between PC 1 and PC 2, which is indicated by a small blue light.
For Reference: I have a G815 Mechanical Keyboard (backlit) and a Razer Viper mouse.
You can control your backlighting on your keyboard and mouse if you have the relevant software installed on each pc.
If you are going to use this device to play games as I tried to do there is some latency. I mainly noticed it with mouse input, so if you’re planning to play anything competitive like R6, CSGO or Valorant, this isn’t going to give you the same performance of plugging it straight into your main PC, so in that sense I wouldn’t recommend it for gaming.
However, if you are using it for casual work use or casual game it will work perfectly fine, at least for me. I directly plug my mouse in if I’m going to play a competitive game
I read a number of reviews prior to buying, some saying it worked perfectly and others encountering difficulties so I was a little hesitant to buy it at first.
I’m so glad I did, this little gadget is a time, space and effort saving device! Small form factor means it is a little likely to be tugged around with any cables plugged into it, but I’m certain it can be fixed with the right adhesive tape/glue if preferred (which I will be doing).
The button feels good, I don’t feel like it’s going to give out on me when I press it, and both my keyboard and mouse (both RGB Logitech gaming products) feel responsive and function as expected. The switch takes a second to transfer the signal at first, but by the time I have my hand back to the keyboard/mouse, it’s all ready to go.
Do note I have mine powered via a micro-USB plugged into an outlet I have positioned on my desk, so no guarantees it will work as expected without this (especially for RGB products that require more power.
I only wish I’d bought it before I thought having two keyboards and two mice was a necessity!
I’ve only had this for 3 weeks but it’s been great – perfect for connecting a bunch of core devices to share between two computers. In my case I’ve been using it to share a single keyboard/mouse/graphics tablet (or any other USB device such as my USB thumb drives, game controllers, printer etc) between a Windows PC and an M1 Mac Mini and it’s been great.
It’s really simple – just a 4 port hub with a push-button switch to chose which of the 2 outputs to direct to. It comes with 2 USB 3.0 cables, each about 150cm long and has an micro USB input port for a 5V power supply (which is not included).
I’ve been really happy with it – it’s saved me from cluttering a single desk with multiple keyboards and mice and has been plug and play from the get-go.
The only downside is the weight of the hub – it’s pretty light and the 2 output cables at the back have a habit of lifting it up at the front sometimes. I think a sturdier and heavier case would give it more stability. Other than that, I really like it as it’s helped keep my desk space cleaner and tidier.
I’ve been using this for about a week and it’s been working great. Much more convenient when working with a PC and a work laptop, as before I bought this I had to keep switching all my USB peripheral cables between the computers when starting/finishing work, which was a bit of a pain as you might imagine.
I am using it with:
Corsair STRAFE Mechanical Keyboard (Wired and uses red lighting)
Logitech G Pro Mouse (Wireless with a PowerPlay mousepad and uses RGB)
SteelSeries Arctis 7 Headset (2019 wireless edition)
TeckNet 1080p Webcam
PLEASE NOTE that initially the headset and keyboard kept disconnecting and reconnecting. I fixed this by powering the hub via its Micro-USB slot, as it probably required more power than usual in order to work with my RGB peripherals which is understandable.
Overall this is well worth the money in my opinion if you are using two computers with several USB peripherals.
EDIT: Changed my setup recently and can confirm it still works fine:
Keychron K4v2 (RGB version)
Razer Viper Ultimate with the Chroma Dock (both use RGB)
SteelSeries Arctis 7 Headset (2019 wireless edition)
TeckNet 1080p Webcam
There was a moment where my headset’s mic or the mouse wasn’t being detected and this turned out to be because the Micro-USB cable got a bit loose so I had to push it back in properly to power the switch again and thus fix the issue.
I’m not writing my opinions but this time I have to make exception.
At first I thought 23 it’s a lot, but still cheaper than other product I wanted to buy to achieve similar result – use 1 mouse on 2 machines and be able to copy files without switching pendrive all the time. So…delivery arrived. Everything nicely packed, but many times packaging didn’t really made a teaser for what’s inside. I’ve opened the box and…I didn’t expect this – product solidly made, nothing crackles, everything sit tight and is made with paying attention to finishing details. I was truly impressed, I think it’s a first thing made of plastic that isn’t cheap in look and feel I’ve ever buy here (in real looks better than on pic). I had connected hub to imac and pc – mechanical keyboard logitech pro, mechanical num keyboard, logitech g502 mouse and 1 pendrive. all works like a charm. I have seen review on yt of this box and someone was connecting additional power to it – if you’ll connect it to usb 3.0 you dont need additional power. everything works perfectly.
There is only 1 thing I will change – i would add some ir button to it so it could be mounted behind screen or on top of keyboard. Many users may not feel this need but I like to have as less cables on my desk as possible and I think it will be a great feature.
I highly recommend this product. It does its job perfectly, and making you feel safe about hardware connected to it.
Have heard about these but never gone for one. This was partly because I was somewhat dubious, about connecting two laptops to an external keyboard and a mouse. My major concern being, one laptop was Windows 10 and the other, was an old Dell XPS running Windows XP.
So far. I’m very impressed. Setting up was somewhat easy. One is supplied with the switch box, which is actually somewhat small, about the size of a package of cigarettes, but half the thickness. Two usb cables are also supplied. Each usb lead is plugged into a usb socket on each laptop and then plugged into the back of the switch box with the two usb ports showing, The front has four usb ports. I plugged the keyboard into the far right port, and the mouse next to it. The switch box has a small button on the top and a blue light. When you push the button, there is about a 2 second delay, and the other blue light next to it illuminates. And yes, to my surprise, it changed between the Window 10 and XP laptop within a couple seconds.
Time will tell how long it keeps going, but so far, I’m very impressed. I’m at a laptop all day, and using the inbuilt keyboard in not good for one’s wrists as they keys are flat. With the external keyboard, it’s obviously angled, thus making it far easier to type. Having an external mouse, as apposed to the touchpad is also a lot more comfortable.
As of yet, I haven’t plugged in my printer, so cannot comment.
