I hadn’t needed to change the line on my strimmer before, unfortunately the original spool had become damaged, so I needed a whole new assembly. This seems to be a genuine part and as the headline says, there was no problem fitting and it seems to work fine. I will keep a closer eye on the line after each use to spot when it is running out to avoid the damage that occurred to the original spool.
You know you can’t really go wrong with Bosch, the quality of the strimmer spool is spot on. It’s made of a strong plastic. Easy to replace the empty one on the strimmer.
It is so much better now Bosch have put the metal protection on the spool it no longer damages the spool when the cord snaps. I have put the cord through its paces and it’s very strong and capable of the tougher weeds.
I would recommend this Strimmer spool.
It is a good upgrade from the previous version. Works well and has the metal part on the side that really helps but it is expensive for what it is and easy can get broken when changing the line if you are not careful.

What can I say, it’s a replacement spool for a Bosch electric garden strimmer.
My local hardware store didn’t have the one I needed that were around half the price.
Took a few orders to get the exact one, but it arrived and was correct, just a little pricey if you ask me.
This newer version has the modified plastic guard covering with metal strip fitted. The old version without the metal, allowed the line to cut into the plastic cover and eventually stop the auto line feed. A good modification.
Excellent seller and customer service. (Poor courier let them down). Haven’t used yet as already line with new strimmer but Bosch part so sure it will be excellent. Would use this seller again for sure. Thanks to customer service staff who helped me so well.
The strimmer this goes into is great, this spool mechanism needs a rethink! Every single one I’ve used ends up with the collar being ripped resulting in the line not feeding correctly as it gets stuck in the cut. It’s incredibly frustrating and means I have to manually pull the line through repeatedly. Come on Bosch make this collar out of something stronger or my next strimmer will be yellow and black…..
Update 16th August…… Bosch have updated the design so that there are two stainless steel plates either side of the spool opening, this new design totally fixes the issue the line ripping into the spool collar. See the 2nd picture. Updating review to 5 stars and hats off to bosch for listening and changing the design.
Having to rewind it on the correct spool as I had used the old one
