Product started to fall apart after about 2 weeks of having it, complained to the company and they have sent a replacement out, only problem is I didn’t receive the replacement. They took full blame and they have resent me another one out again, and this time I’ve received it. I actually cannot fault their customer service Alin, was great help and is a credit to the company. And I have now increased my score to reflect this. Hopefully now the product will hold up a lot better.
I chose this more expensive option after reading several reviews on multiple websites. I play beat saber at least 1 hour every day for 5 months now (usually a lot more) and I found the original controllers were causing a little skin irritation in particular to my thumb and forefingers from the natural joins. These covers are very easy to put on, much easier than attaching my elite head strap for example. They don’t hinder any sensors or buttons. They do not smell in any way. The strap gives extra confidence during intense movement. They feel very comfortable but since I’ve only used them for 2 hours at this point, Ill let you all know if I find any flaws in the future :p
I had a set of covers for the controllers previous to these but they eventually ripped from taking them on and putting them back on when changing battery.
These are great as that’s not an issue anymore with the opening on the side, and the pull tab makes getting batteries out so much quicker and less awkward then prying them out with a thin object. Nice feel to material and doesn’t feel like they’ll slip
My child likes these although could have done with the Velcro going all way down, made for larger hands I guess. Battery door doesn’t close quite flush so could do with some adjustment there to be more secure. Otherwise does job and child happy with them
Really nice fitting for my hands and improved my Beatsababer skills and actually made me more accurate.
In other games where you have to throw things by releasing the grip is 100% better with the hand strap. And makes changing the batteries a breeze.
I bought these from a recommendation and wasn’t disappointed. Easy to fit and love I can change the batteries in the controller without removing the cover. With VR fitness these are perfect.
It’s comfortable to wear and the battery access is great but the main thing for me is the design.
My previous knuckle straps attached to the ring directly and fast movements put major strain on it, eventually damaging it. These straps move the anchor point to next to the trigger effectively removing strain.
These have extended the life of my controllers by a long way.
Good value, build quality feels excellent. Thick rubber, comfortable to hold, and the battery access is good, though can be a bit cumbersome.
Only issue is that the small buckle on the top of the hand strips dig into my hands. I don’t have especially big hands, but I can’t loosen the strap anymore, so it becomes quite uncomfortable after a short while.
So AVOID if you have large hands as it won’t fit them.
Generally recommended though, and having the extra hand guard is INCREDIBLY useful as you can let go of the controllers and they’ll stay in your hand (great for games like Synth Riders where you don’t need closed palms).
I use these everytime I’m using my Quest 2. The grips were easy to install, the battery cover was a little tricky as you need to put the pullout strip in before the batteries. The adjustable hand straps are great and can be changed quickly when switching between users. I barely use the default wrist straps on the controllers anymore but that should only be done at your own risk. Easy to wipe down the grip cover at a sweaty workout session. I don’t know why these aren’t standard for the controllers.
After around 150+ hours
It is still really good and in intact, but im for a reason bit afraid its gonna tear where the strap connects to the controller…
Other than that, i would recommend everyone to get one. Its really good, not heavy, pervents slippery hands, the metallic parts leave two greyish dots on the hand as you use em…
After 150 hours it is atill in a good shape, and easy to open to change the battery
Would recommend
I’ve been really happy with these grip covers from day one. They do increase size of controller grips a little, which is great for those with larger hands, and they improve friction of the grip on the hand controllers. They do need a little care fitting to ensure battery panel is aligned correctly but this is easy and the battery access panel works well. The strap attachment points are flexible silicone but the velcro part of the strap is fairly rigid and takes time to bed in to a new shape if it needs adjusting to any size larger than the default size. I can see that the rigid velcro might cause an issue if your hands needed the strap adjusting to a position only just larger than the default size but I don’t think it would impact many people and the flexibility of the attachment point means that the strap could be adjusted a little looser or tighter if needed and the attachment points would flex to accomodate.
This product is amazing!
You can feel the difference from the start, as this is the way the stock controllers should be.
However, as I originally bought the version for larger hands, I have a few comments about it.
This product is much less complete than the one mentioned above. It doesn’t come with silicone controller protectors, felt support for the strap that goes behind your hand and extra strap for safety. Please check the other product to compare the items.
The protector is really good and worth the money (bought separately). But this product + protectors are already more expensive than the version for larger hands (that includes the protectors and other items).
This makes no sense for me, as the mentioned product is clearly more expensive itself (it had a hard piece inside, where the proprietary straps are affixed).
In general it’s a great product, but there is definitely room for improvement, mostly regarding the items included in the package.
The #1 thing that initially put me off getting a Quest 2 was the prospect of having to hold onto the controllers at all times, which to me seemed like it would hinder immersion.
This controller grip completely remedies that. The adjustable straps allow you to let go of the controller and are firm enough that you could shake your hand around and the controller will still be in the same place when you close your hand.
The material on the cover is also pleasant and helps a lot if your hands are sweating.
Easily the best controller accessory for the Quest 2.
