Good product and easy to fit, a bit noisey, but a good replacement for my failed Whale pump. The only dissapointing thing, is that I had to tighten all the screws, because when it was first fitted water leaked from the pump.
Using this pump to fill an ICB container from another ICB – using a 12v battery currently filling at a rate of 200mm / hour, also great for watering the greenhouse.
This pump pump works like a dream. Perhaps a little noisy but I don’t have any comparisons. Care needed when fitting to the tap as the pressure is very high and there is a tendancy to leak under pressure unless you use the correct size jubilee clip. Two clips are supplied with the pump which work fine but you will need a third when fitting to the tap.
Used this tiny pump to get water from a lake 50 metres away to fill a off grid toilet, fitted a filter obviously and placed the pump lake side which had no issues pumping it to the toilet, had to turn the pressure switch right down to minimum which makes it cut out perfectly.
Our dishwasher discharge water pump stopped working and I needed to remove the water from the dishwasher before I could pull out the dishwasher from under the counter and lay it on its side to check out the problem.
This pump made quick work of pumping out the water from the dishwasher to a bucket. You do need a 3/8″ ID plastic hose for the input and outlet side of the pump. Two hose clamps are provided. You also need a 12V power source.
It is a great bargain for under $20, as it is a positive displacement diaphragm pump with a 12V motor, and sure beats a drill pump which doesn’t even come with a motor.
After disassembling the discharge pump, I was able to determine that there was a small broken piece of a cereal bowl that was stuck inside the pump. After removing it and reassembling the dishwasher it is running like new. I saved spending over $1,000 for a new Frigidaire Professional dishwasher.
The pump was a life saver and I will keep it for other pumping jobs.
Was bought as a self priming pump for a caravan water system. However, even though it’s pressure was high, the flow rate was not enough to turn on the gas water heater. It was also rather noisy, as a reciprocating pump would be, and the noise transfered though the pipe work to fill the caravan!
Not used in the end.
The reason it’s reduced to 4 stars, is that it appears to have undersized 10mm connections. I had to wrap the delivery side in 3 layers of insulation tape before tightening the jubilee clip very very tight.
BTW don’t use cheap clips, they do NOT tighten sufficiently to hold the pressure.
Bought for a mobile coffee trailer to give water pressure to a sink tap. Plenary of pressure and has given no problems yet!
