Weleda pledges to plant a million trees

In 2021, Weleda’s Centenary year, we decided to mark this incredible milestone and celebrate Weleda’s 100 year history, whilst simultaneously looking to the future, by pledging to plant a Weleda forest in collaboration with the environmental charity TreeSisters. The aim of this long-term project is to plant one million trees to combat climate change.

The Weleda vision is to plant a magnificent forest of trees. Not a single location but a forest of a million trees planted around the world where trees are needed most urgently – to reclaim endangered rainforest, prevent flooding or soil erosion, protect natural habitats, support local communities in some of the poorest countries in the world, and empower women in the workplace. TreeSisters funds tropical reforestation projects globally with a focus on initiatives either run by women or supporting women around the world.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this body cream and facial cream to use on my 9month old son who had patches on dry red skin on his arms, legs and tummy. This cream has completely cleared all of these patches up, it’s brilliant!!! I used Aveeno and E45 before this and they didn’t work. Well worth the money.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy 19 month old developed eczema and after using aveeno since birth, I was advised to try the aveeno dermatex cream, never have i seen such a bad reaction, bright red, hot, gritty skin. I was prescribed steroid cream and told to go back to aveeno daily, again he reacted which he has never had issues with before, I then tried epederm junior, another instant reaction.
I have now been using this weleda white willow for 48 hours and his skin has noticeable improvements, the prickly dry skin from the reactions are smoothing and his baby softness is slowly returning, his eczema patches are also fading.
This product has been a life saver as I was so worried about having to keep up with the ‘trial and error’ option advised by doctor when he was reacting to badly to other creams!

I use it everyday on my son’s eczema and it helps, but it is too expensive for a small bottle.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIdeal for my 3yr old after baths. Always repurchase. Suits his sensitive skin and moisturises any dry flaky patches.
Not massively rich and not thick so if you’re child’s got eczema you may need something more intensive like Mustela Stelatopia range

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI adore this lotion. Though it is very thick for a lotion, it absorbs beautifully, isn’t greasy and it soothes and heals my ezcema. I am allergic to linalool so love that this is safe for me to use. It’s a little too intense for my face which flares easily with acne but perfect for everywhere else. I tend to use it just to fight ezcema on my hands and wrists as it is expensive but so effective. I’m also using it for my vulvodynia or external areas of vulva and it’s great.

I do find getting it out the bottle a bit of a task sometimes. You have to flick the lotion down to the lid. I decanted some into a 30ml HDPE flip top bottle for my bag. This stuff just doesn’t ever move of it’s own accord. Even storing the bottle upside down it will not collect in the neck, you have to persuade it with a vigorous flick of the wrist. I’m now going to try using an airless pump which should work much better. It does come out it’s original bottle a bit easier but the colder it is the harder it is to get it out. This is not enough to put me off because it’s fantastic in every other way. I like that it’s thick but that it melts to lotion on my skin.

This is one of the few ezcema or unfragranced moisturisers I’ve used that I don’t feel like I need to wash my hands afterwards if I want to say knit or handle paper. Don’t ever change!

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI have tried dozens, nay, probably hundreds of moisturiser’s over the past twenty years.

After a side effect of some new, but essential medication I had begun to feel itchy at night and anti histimines weren’t doing the trick. I’d tried E45 itch relief cream amongst others, and only found relief in actual numbing creams such as those with a lidocaine base. Aside from the fact these are sold/prescribed in small quantities (thus costing me a fortune and taking forever to apply to my entire body), I really didn’t want to smother myself in Vagisil every night and have my husband ask what that weird scent was when I climbed into bed. We’ve been together years and have three children, so although I’m happy to have itch relief over smelling like Chanel no.5 in a bid to be alluring, I really didn’t fancy the consistency and odour myself.

I have a great aversion to a certain ‘feel’ after lotions and potions have sunk in; mainly it leaving your hands feeling tacky and oddly dry.

Many moisturiser’s worth their salt have this feeling, or they’re so thick they don’t sink in at all.

Not so with this legend. The way it sinks in reminds me a little of Lush’s ‘Dream Cream’, though the consistency appears a little thinner, and leaves your wallet a little fatter!

As for itch relief, it’s remarkable. It leaves the skin calm and moisturisered with no excess, the smell is subtle but light and pleasant and it’s cooling without that menthol type feel many products tout as having such effects.

I’ve since used this for my 10 year old’s eczema patches, on my toddler’s cradle cap and as an all over cream for her.Even hubby uses it on his vulture like elbows and he detests any sort of lotion or cream, even if his elbows could light a match.

Every household should have a bottle in, it’s fantastic for general use, cradle cap, itches, bites and eczema. I’ve even used it on my (very sensitive) face when I ran out of my usual night cream and haven’t bothered buying my usual one since. I wake up feeling fresh faced, no excess grease and any dry patches are gone (combination skin).

    Highly, highly recommend!!

I have been using this cream for three years for my son. I found that it really helps reduce the irritation when applied immediately after the bath when the skin is still fairly moist. I tried countless creams for my son’s eczema but this one is the best for us.

My baby broke out in eczema on her tummy and arms after her MMR vaccine. Tried many things to calm it, and this was the only thing that did! Used two bottles but now that it’s totally gone I used the cheaper Aveeno Emollient daily, but this is amazing for any bad flair ups!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersMy 8 month old son has been suffering from really bad eczema since November. The doctors have given him three different types of cream and he’s also now on his third type of steroid. We find that steroids calm his eczema but still don’t clear it, but the issue comes every third week when we have to give his skin a break from the steroid for a week.
His skin automatically flares up all over his body and he just wants to itch constantly……. and I mean all day long!
Therefore I wanted to try any cream where people believe it’s a miracle cream for eczema. So first of all I tried the derma baby Aveeno range… big mistake! His skin went bright red and he started screaming. Doctors gave us different creams.
Anyway. We are now again on the third week and his skin has fared up yet again without the use of the steroid. So I took another gamble and ordered this. Tried a little on his wrist first and within 10 mins his wrist was cool but still slightly red where his other wrist and rest of his body was still hot and red. I then went on to put onto the rest of his body and it instantly soothes him. He barley tried to itch tonight. So hopefully this is a turning point for his eczema.
We are still going to take him to a dermatologist, however at least we know that this cream can sooth him on a ‘bad’ day. We will 100% be back for more.

This is THE most amazing cream you will ever find for eczema or dermatitis. My baby developed quite bad eczema on the back of his neck which needed steroid cream. I didn’t want to use it, so I used this cream and within a few days it’s gone. I simply can’t recommend this enough.

We use this for our little boy, who suffers with eczema and dry skin. It hydrates his skin like no other cream we have used.. And we have tried lots! It soaks into his skin without leaving a greasy mess and is really helpful for his eczema. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth every penny and you know you aren’t putting nasty chemicals on your precious ones skin.
We did try the calendula from Weleda, but it just doesn’t hydrate like this one!

I had changed the washing powder and baby’s skin reacted so i rushed out and bought all the products… then realised what had happened, whoops. Anyway, this product is nice and creamy and i have used it for the dry skin on my hands and it has worked well. I used it on baby initially

It makes a lot of difference than other creams that I baught for my baby. I applied it and since day 1 I can see how much it softens the skin, that red flaky skin is not as bad as it was.But I have to apply the cream at least 3 times a day.

Love this product for my eczema and dry skin. There is a very subtle, clean smell that comes with this product and I found it to be soothing and hydrating and doesn’t leave behind a greasy sensation on the skin. I use it after showering and as an when needed and a little will go a long way. It’s exactly what I wanted and expected.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our Users*Update* Little one had a flare up, used this cream and it disappeared within 30min!
——Using this cream for my 5month old to treat her eczema. Cream is very light so needed to apply more often, but her skin got so much better and nearly clear of eczema now after 5 days of use! I’m using this one for the flared up areas and a thicker emollient for regular moisturising. Definitely recommend the cream for red itchy ‘angry’ skin patches. Plus smelles nice too.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI’ve been using this on my little 8 month old who’s eczema has come up really bad since weaning. The cooling effect is really good for calming down the skin when it gets red and hot and the cream is moisturising. I do add a bit of oil sometimes for extra moisture but very happy with it having tried the normal Weleda Baby lotion, Aveeno Baby and Childs Farm.
This one ticks both boxes of being moisturising and soothing.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersEver since we used this on our first baby (who had dry skin) we don’t buy anything else and have used this for both our children. If your thinking there’s cheaper options out there, don’t waste your money.

We used lots of high street brands but found this one to genuinely make a difference to there dry skin.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis cream is amazing!! My 13 week old daughter has had eczema really bad for the last 4/5 weeks. I’ve been to the docs and had emollient prescribed but they refused to prescribe me anything else…. it didn’t touch her skin. I tried baby aveeno lotion by that just made it ten times worse. I used this cream for 24 hours and her skin is now completely clear!! And baby smooth!! Honestly stunned at how well it’s worked on my daughters skin. Pricey but worth every penny! I will be subscribing to this cream.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBeen using this on my 5 y old daughter for a couple weeks now who seems to have little patches of eczema on knees and elbows, alongside with creams prescribed by the doc. Keeps her skin well hydrated and spots that have already disappeared dont return if applying this daily. Doesnt have any smell really or if then very light, also applies and spreads easily.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have been using this cream morning and night on my face (I am in my forties) I have sensitive skin and had been using vasaline intensive care and astral cream on my face for the past 3 years but had started to react to them both causing stinging and redness. This cream is fabulous! it soaks in nicely and my face feels smooth and comfortable. My skin even has regained a youthful glow! It is so soothing and gentle even around the delicate eye area. It works for me and I love it! I don’t use it from the bottle, I have washed out and steralised a tiny glass jam jar (the ones you can buy for 30p ish that are a single portion of jam) and squeezed it full of cream that I can dab my finger into and it sits on my bedside table.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersCan’t rate this enough for my baby’s ezcema. Too too greasy at all and the only thing I’ve found that works. It calms down redness overnight and is always much improved after application. What I would say though if you do have a baby with ezcema is stick with it, even if you think it’s gone keep applying this to prevent new patches. Currently baby no longer has any visible patches but I still apply this twice daily. Ok for face too though I have also got the face cream which is great but doesn’t smell as nice as this one.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this product for my own personal use, and so I’m reviewing it as a personal moisturiser rather than a baby product.

It doesn’t make a great personal moisturiser for me, but I can’t comment on it as a baby product for which it is intended.

I have dry skin and mild eczema, and I like to use naturally-derived (plant-based) moisturising products. Weleda’s baby lotions are cheaper than the rest of their moisturising products, so I often opt for the baby lotions. (I like Weleda products in general – they tend to be excellent quality, in my experience.)

This product has a light and non-greasy consistency. It’s not quickly absorbed, but it is very easy to rub off with a towel if too much is applied, leaving no hint of grease.

When using as a face cream, I notice that it sometimes forms a dry flaky residue on my face late in the evening, that looks a bit like a skin condition! So it doesn’t make a good face cream!

This cream is light and easy to use, but I have dry skin, and it’s not really adequate for my needs, except as an occasional day cream if nothing else is to hand. I need something that is better absorbed.

I’ve seen a number of reviews that criticise the fragrance. It doesn’t have the nicest of fragrances. It has a very mild/subtle smell which I struggle to pinpoint, but it’s like a very subtle hint of fresh coconut flesh (note that I’m referring to fresh coconut – a natural smell, not an artificially refined smell that you’d get in some suncreams – it doesn’t smell like Malibu!), with perhaps a hint of nettles. (Nettles don’t have the most attractive smell – the aren’t fresh or zesty.) I don’t find the fragrance offensive, and it’s an extremely mild smell (almost imperceptible), but it’s not the most pleasant fragrance – it doesn’t smell fresh, and it wouldn’t be for everyone.

Overall, i find it acceptable as an occasional light, every-day, mild moisturiser, when i have nothing else available to use. (But not for use on my face because it creates an embarrassing flaky residue when dry.) It doesn’t have the feel of a quality moisturising cream like many of Weleda’s other moisturising products do. Also, the fragrance isn’t present. But considering that this is supposed to be a baby lotion, I’m not sure if my review is appropriate or helpful, if you intend to use it for a baby.

I won’t buy this product again for my personal use. I prefer Weleda’s Calendula Baby Lotion, in terms of consistency and smell. And I much prefer Weleda’s range of adult moisturisers, but they are expensive.
