Excellent product by Wera.. I mostly use it for 15 mm and 22mm compression fittings. It really helpful and good on old tight nuts. It opens like piece of cake due to strong and long tail. Very happy with the product. A slight negative point is that it’s head/ jaws are big so can’t work on tight spaces.

I have seen reviews on certain sizes of the 6004 where the durability of this tool is questioned when applying force. I can say after about 6 months of regular use including reasonably high torquing of nuts and bolts this thing really holds up. Once you get the hang of it this wrench is ultra efficient because of the ratcheting mechanism and very handy considering it’s six sizes in one wrench. Plus it’s so well made and aesthetically pleasing I actually look forward to using it.
I’m a bit of a Wera fan and have bought a bit recently. Overall, I’m very happy with my purchases, and that continues with this spanner.
I like the design. It feels well made. It grips like a very grippy thing and it’s very well made. However…
There is an issue. Specifically, the very limited range of adjustment.
When Wera say 10-13mm, that’s what they mean. It can only cope with nuts within that range.
Not a problem if you can afford/ justify buying the whole set, but a very expensive solution to a pretty limited application otherwise.
Now, I’m off to speak very nicely with Mrs Munki…
This is a very good spanner.
Maybe not the cheapest but you get what you pay for in this world and I paid for it, got it and am very happy with it.
I umm-ed and arr-ed a bit before buying this as twenty odd quid is a bit steep. Wera tools always are. It was a bit fiddly to start with, but now I’m getting the hang of it , it’s a positive boon. I come across a lot of 10-13mm nuts to undo, so this particular size is ideal. Not sure I need to buy anymore though.
I first saw this spanner over here on amazon and I was a bit dubious about it.
However, I decided to buy the small one, just to try it and see the concept behin it. Right after the first use I knew I was gonna buy these in all sizes.
They are easy to use, made of very high quality steel and can be very handy in situations, where you can’t use a socket, or a ratchet spanner.
That is, because they will lock on the nut, or bolt one way very firmly, but at the same time they would skip over the sides, when turned the other way. This allows you to use them the same way, as you would use a ratchet spanner, except with these you don’t have to worry abuot being able to put the actual ring of a ratchet spanner over the nut.
At first, I was surprised how useful this small one was and very soon after I decided to get all the sizes in.
They have prooven to be more, than my initial expectations would have been.
I can truely recommend these to anyone, who cares about the quality of tools he, or she has to work with in everydays engineering tasks.
Completes my set off Wera self setting adjustable spanner’s. perfect for your day to day tool bag, as expected with German tools it is well made and sturdy. Easy to use with good grip on different types of nuts.
It’s Wera, so you know it’s well-made. There are many other (mostly Chinese), versions of this multi-sized wrench jaw arrangement, but this optimisation from Wera is spring-loaded and “close-tolerance”, in that each of these in the series is designed for a specific size range of fasteners. In this case, from around 10mm to 13mm OR up to 1/2″ AF, OR a similar fastener or union size in Whitworth/BSF/BA. That’s where the versatility comes in. In other words, if you are assembling a Compact toolkit for (say), an older model English motorcycle – that will also work on more modern Jap-(r@p – then this size and the next one up in this series will replace a whole (heavy), bunch of standard spanners.
I bought this adjustable to check out the Wera range which look to be slightly different to your average tools. This tool is excellently engineered and very easy to use. I will be buying the full set and recumbent the full Were range to anyone looking for well engineered, robust tools that last.
