This is my favourite live action with animation film ever made from my childhood. It still looks great today. I also liked the extra features on the making of the film. Overall 10 out of 10!
A great film for kids & adults alike! The blending of live action & animation still stands the test of time. I’m sure nowadays it could be made to look even better, but it’s the charm of the movie & the era it was made in. Highly recommended & also at a cheap as chips price! 5/5
Classic movie that if you watched growing up the nostalgia will make you happy watching this gem again. Only negative is it doesn’t look amazing for a blu ray copy, sound was very good though
The Blu-Ray is a great testament to the film popularity with a ton of extras and goodies to feast your eyes on. I kept thinking would a 1080 upgrade be bad for a film like this as it could prove dated with the toons and actors mixing it up on screen but trust me it does not and if anything only shows how groundbreaking the effects were for its time and can still be appreciated today.
There is audio commentaries from Robert Zemeckis, Frank Marshall etc, mini Roger Rabbit shorts, featurettes, the deleted pig head sequence with added commentary plus a lot more to keep any animation fan happy. A great release for a great film
Great movie much enjoyed by entire family . Great mixture of live action and toons. After his screen brother was killed by a toon piano falling on him PI bob hoskins vowed never to work for a toon again, but ends up saving toon town and roger rabit from the evil toon who killed his brother. Great scene with the sexiest mrs rabbit ever.
5 Stars for the blueray and movie.
This disc is a very good example, how you have to remaster an older movie.
The picturequality is excellent. I really enjoyed watching this movie after years again with this quality.
Many X-tras deleted scenes and Infos are a great plus.
Must have blueray
This is one of my favorite movies. Just great on Blu-ray to enhance the live and gel animation of the movie. Toontown comes alive with the characters of the ‘6 minute cartoon’ of 40’s and the 50’s. bringing back memories of an era of Cinema.
This is a milestone in motion picture history, as it is the first attempt at combining animation with live action.
This movie is genius from the casting to the set’s.
Be warned, there is a scene that is quite upsetting, as it still upsets me.
But a brilliant movie never the less which everyone will enjoy.
Once again, Amazon out did themselves and I received this sans scratches and in perfect condition in good time – as for the film it is completely worthy of its classic status with some of the best animation on show. Also still the only film where’ll you find the Looney Tunes and Mickey Mouse sharing a screen!!
A childhood favourite finally brought to high definition – fantastic!!!!
A perfect combination of live-action and animation. Great story, great characters and the only film that has Donald and Daffy Duck in one scene together. One of my favorite films of all time!
Roger Rabbit was one of a kind – the last fling of old fashioned hand-drawn animation, allied to some really clever animatronics, quality actors in live action roles and Toon’s voices, plus a good storyline. On top of all that, the transfer to Bluray is excellent. All I miss is some extras.
Oh, and it’s funny too.
I originally watched this on video, but seeing it on blu-ray was a different experience. The clarity of picture was good, we did have problems getting the sound loud enough, but really did enjoy this very much.
At first glance I was disappointed with the picture quality of the blu-ray edition, but in truth I think it looks very much like the intended original idea. It’s not incredibly sharp and clear but it is the best it ever looked. Wires, see through animation are more apparent than before because every thing was done optically back then, but it does not detract from the viewing experience at all!
Even without a jaw dropping remaster this film is a classic and is worth the upgrade.
I owned the single disc DVD so I didn’t have access to some of the bonus features that are included here (which were in the Vista Series 2 DVD Edition)
The bonus features are great and comprehensive but I would love a retrospective documentary with the filmmakers.
Keeping in mind that it is a quarter of a century old I think they did a really good job restoring it. Picture is sharp without too much noise, some can be seen in darker areas of course but not enough to annoy. Compared to a deluxe edition DVD I also own it’s much better, well worth the upgrade. The sound is DTS-HD MA 5.1, unfortunately not much of a difference from the DVD. Minimum usage of the surround speakers and subwoofer made it a bit of a dissapointment, but was compensated by excellent separation of the front and center speakers. The speech and Jessica’s song was coming clean from the center and the sound effects from the front speakers, with some of it from the center without making the dialogue difficult to hear.
A highly recommended classic to everyone!
