Description

It’s difficult to access confined spaces and corners with a conventional fitter’s hammer and all too often unsightly marks are left on the surrounding surfaces. That’s not the case with Wiha’s electrician’s hammer. With its U-shaped striking surface, it provides optimum access to tight spaces. This hammer unites ergonomic handling, balanced weight distribution and the ability to remove fastening elements such as nail clamps. With its optimally uniform weight distribution, it promises perfect balance, delivering impact and fatigue-free work. Thanks to the ergonomically designed, non-slip handle, the electrician’s hammer fits perfectly into the hand, ensuring a secure hold when striking.

Application

Easily removes nails and nail clamps or positions cables and dowels. Ideal for use in a confined working environment.

The flat, straight claws on the hammer head enable users to remove nail clamps even from difficult-to-reach spots and pull nails quickly and easily from the wall. The flat surface on the hammer handle means cables and dowels are positioned effectively without causing any damage to the wall.

After buying this hammer, I instantly knew it was the one few months down the line and I just couldn’t go back to using any other hammer literally perfect for an electricia

This Wiha hammer is smaller than my “normal” hammer (an Estwing 16oz), and I wouldn’t use it for pounding larger nails. But for tacks, cable clips, and _anything_ that needs to be nailed in close to an edge or perpendicular surface, the Wiha crushes the Estwing. It’s easier to handle, and the flat top makes it easier to strike a nail right at the edge of a wall.

I’m just a light duty DIY kind of person, so a bigger hammer (it turns out) is more than I need 90% of the time. This little Wiha fits in a smaller tool bag, is easier to swing, and easier to control. It’s now my go-to hammer for most of what I want to do around the house.

This hammer should not not be selected as a general duty hammer as it is not heavy enough, but as an electrician I purchased this hammer for installing intruder, telecoms and data cables etc and should be ideal for this purpose. Provided most people realise most electricians carry several hammers, I have the following, a 2.5 pound club hammer, a 20 ounce Estwing ripping claw hammer and a10 ounce Warrington hammer. This actual hammer will directly replace the Warrington hammer as it cannot retract/ remove cable clips, hence this hammer will be ideal in attic spaces and under floors etc. As long as the layman understands this hammer is designed for specific purposes and will function perfectly on these applications. If a person is only going to select one hammer to cover all aspects of general diy in the home this hammer is probably not the ideal option.
If on the other hand an electrician etc is looking for a hammer for light duty work then this hammer would be a good selection as the hammer head is well designed for allowing access for clipping cables in tight corners and the ripping claw is an excellent design for removing clips, removing facings and trunking lid etc.
In general I’m pleased with the performance of this tool although I haven’t used it a great deal but when used it feels well balanced with a comfortable grip.

Perfect for banging in clips and nails, nice size too, fits in my tote bag just right. Not too heavy but packs a punch. Little on the expensive side but wouldn’t stop me from recommending!

Very red and grippy handle, superb shaped head for getting into corners,.. Nice and light, for hanging in a hammer loop, by your side.. If it’s light, and doesn’t get in your way, you’ll always have it with you, that’s my theory,,.. saves using your pliers as a hammer,,….
Should have been invented years ago,,!!
    Absolutely brilliant, imho..
    I for one, 100% recommended it….

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLovely and light weight hammer, it’s excellent for removing clips from both wood and masonry. With a flat top you can get into the roof space and clip flush which is a bonus. The base is a good idea for knocking in raw plugs and it feels comfortable to use for long periods. Only one criticism, the handle is rubber and it makes putting it into a holster a little tricky sometimes. Other then that great product, just a tad expensive.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLike to hit clips? Like to pry? Like to bash in plugs? Like to get in between joists, pipes, cables in the confines of a tiny hole.

Then buy this hammer, bit little for a chippy, perfect for sparky jobs. Feels good in the hand. And fits in most toolbags.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWiha’s ‘Electrician’s Universal Adjuster’ is a peach. It feels good in hand even if a little lightweight for my taste yet also being balanced and having a squircle shaped head allows the head into nice little tight corners, as often happens. At the other end the claw being nigh on 180 lends itself to easy clip removal which is a Brucie and waaayy better than a pure claw when it comes to clippage. The comfy, grippy handle is nice and you can use it to flush your red-plugs, after drilling, in place before driving a fixing in.

So far so good. Feels good in hand and straight claw is a bonus. Would have given 5*’s if it had a bit more weight which is neither here nor there tbh being a sparky’s hammer.

Perfect for tight spaces! The square edge on the top of the hammer allows you to clip cables tight up to walls & ceilings. Super lightweight when carrying in your tool belt or work trousers which is a bonus. It also fits in your tool bag nicely.
