A lot of other blades are too sharp the first shave, then they are blunt after that.
Quattro are perfect, sharp and safe, a really good shave, they go on and on and on.
I have had bad blades, misaligned or with some other fault. These have always been good, lasts as long as others, and this is a good price compared to boots etc.
They’re not the closet blades out there, but these are by far the best choice of razor blades for lower down areas. Less nicks and irritation compared to the Gillette range.
Closest and most comfortable shave I’ve ever had.
I’ve suffered razor rash my whole life and I thoughtbit was just a fact of life. Not any more!
Beats the spit out of Gillette
My husband can’t find them in the stores anymore, so the best place to buy them is online. Thank you for still providing them. They are the best…he finds that this product gives him the best shave for his face and bald head.
My local chemists only stock razor blades the fit another well known make. I really do not know why razor baldes cannot be standardised so that all blades of this type fit any manufacturer’s razor. However, thanks to Amazon, I can now get the blades that I prefer.
I have used these for years, and have never found anything better. The features I like are the wires across the blades that stop you nicking yourself, the additional trimmer blade, and the titanium coating which I assume is what gives such a long life to each blade. The reason I am now buying these from Amazon is that the Quattro blades sold by my local Sainsbury’s are now the ‘base model’ – no titanium and no trimmer blade. I didn’t spot this when I recently bought some, and found that the useful life of the ‘base model’ blade is much shorter, while the the lack of a trimmer blade a nuisance – a wasted purchase.
So be careful what you are buying!
UPDATE
So… I thought I found the perfect solution for the very expensive Quattro for women blades. But I discovered that the men’s ones are less sharp and when shaving the bikini area they irritated my skin and I had to throw them away after just one use. So I’m back with the Papaya & Pearl “lady” colour, extra expensive Women’s Razor blades. Sorry.
****************************
Ladies… this fits perfectly for your women version. And it’s half the price!! I’ve never been so aware of the pink tax until I bought this. Is the exact same thing but advertised for men. Therefore, is cheaper. It’s honestly ridiculous.
These blades are incredibly good: they’re sharp, have many useful tools (lubricating strip and edging blade) and are very durable.
I’ve used a Gillette Mach 3 since the day I started shaving and always thought that razors were supposed to hurt a bit and that I just happened to have very sensitive skin. However, last year I went on a long trip around LatAm and was trying my best to minimise the weight I was carrying. I got a Schick Quattro Titanium Trimmer Razor in Chile as I could both use it as a groomer and a razor. I was immediately amazed at how much sharper and pleasant these blades were compared to the Mach 3 ones. I was also amazed at how much more durable these blades were!
I’m back from my trip now and I wasn’t sure where I could get Schick blades in the UK. After a bit of googling, I discovered that Schick and Wilkinson actually belonged to the same company. So I ordered these blades and they fit perfectly. So if you are ever in doubt, Schick blades and Wilkinson blades seem to be interchangeable.
I’d also like to mention the seller’s customer service. I was in a bit of a hurry when I ordered these blades so I contacted the seller to ask him if he could send them faster. He sent them the next day and they got to the UK from Germany only two days after I ordered them!
Over the years I’ve tried a number of cartridge and double edge razor blades and have settled on the Wilkinson Sword Quattro Titanium Sensitive to be the best of the bunch.
First of all to confirm that the sensitive blades fit the same handle as the non-sensitive blades. They come in identical packaging and fit in the same way – I comfortably get five shaves from each blade with each shave consisting of face and head with WTG (With the grain) and ATG (Against).
I find the non-sensitive blades are comparable to the Gillette Fusion but the sensitive ones cause less irritation – and they are a lower cost too making them an attractive option.
I highly recommend these blades.
I stopped buying brand razors in the supermarket as soon as I realized the price difference between online and offline retailers. This is a product I buy again and again simply because this is a product I need regularly.
I use to use cheap disposable razors and while I did save money my face paid the price. I cannot speak for all brands but I can say that I would not buy a disposable razor again if i could help it, the difference and comfort of the shave is very noticeable.
The product could still be priced more competitively.
I have been using these Wilkinson Sword Quattro
Titanium blades for a couple of years now,
and find them excellent quality.
When I first started shaving I tended to follow
my father’s advice and used the same Gillette
safety razor blades that he used. As the years
progressed and I found that I had a mind of my
own, I ventured toward Wilkinson’s products and
have not looked back. Have now used Wilkinson
blades of various types for over 40 years.
This quality blade is dependable, gives a smooth
shave, with either foam or gel, I prefer to use the
foam, and one blade lasts at least a week, with
one day letting the beard rest.
The 8 pack from Amazon seems a reasonable price to
pay when you consider the higher alternative
prices from pharmacies and local supermarkets.
A worthy product.
Personally (and ethically), I’d say that Wilkinson are far better than t’other. The Quattro especially have always been very good and it’s one of the few razors that I’ve found where the head doesn’t come off while you’re shaving or tapping the razor to expel hairs & foam/creme. After that’s happened a few dozen times, you start to lose patience. So now these new blades are Titanium and have an extra blade on the top/back, for tidying ‘burns and beardy sculptures. I was worried that they might not fit my old Quattro handle, but they do. Hip hip hooray. New and improved, and cheaper than the standard old blades. Bizarre but most welcome. So yes, they work well and yes, it was a good price. Shame I couldn’t buy them locally at something approaching that price, otherwise I’d have done so. Always better to support the local, tax-paying economy, if at all possible.
Readers will be pleased to learn that these Blades will fit into the head of the original 1970s design of razor and onwards to the present day design ; the actual design of the head has not changed. Wilkinson led the field in multiple blade design but did not have the world wide distribution of Mighty Gillette and so they did a deal which allowed Gillette to use Wilkenson technology for a share into the know how of making the shaving head. Wilkenson are better known for their superior swords and at the end of WW11 King George V1 presented Stalingrad ( St. Petersburg) with the Sword of Peace inscribed and made by Wilkenson who still make swords and sharpen older models which are sent to U.K. particularly from the U.S and Canada.
Morrisons Supermarkets have stopped selling the Wilkenson Sword Razors and replacement Heads in favour of Gillette and there is nothing wrong with Mighty Gillette, but if you favour a bit of history and support ‘ Made in Britain ‘ Amazon is the place to find the sharpest Blade made by Wilkenson since the Battle of Trafalgar. Now I must admit that I did not write this review, it was written by my husband whose code sign is jannarta and he was an C.P.O. and later a Lieutenant Clearance Diver in the R.N.
