Standard Xbox controller with the benefits of being able to connect to Xbox one, S and X plus the added benefit of being able to pair with PC and mobile devices.
The controller is very comfortable in hand and is as easy to use as any other Xbox controller. I use standard rechargeable batteries in the controller and the battery life is around a week with heavy usage before needing charging. The controller is very responsive and what you would expect from Xbox.
The price is about what you would expect to pay but it doesn’t feel that bad paying for it with connectivity to other devices.
Great colour, great hand feel. Feels like it’s good and robust. No performance issues, battery life in keeping with standard issue controller. Simone to link to the console-easy to use. Happy with value for money..
The Xbox Wireless Controller in Carbon Black is a sleek and refined iteration of a classic design, maintaining the high standards set by its predecessors while introducing subtle improvements that enhance the overall gaming experience. Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or new to the Xbox ecosystem, this controller offers comfort, precision, and reliability that make it a must-have for any Xbox or PC gamer.
Design and Build Quality
The Carbon Black finish gives the controller a modern, understated look that will appeal to those who prefer a minimalist aesthetic. The matte black surface feels smooth and comfortable in hand, with textured grips on the back that provide added control during intense gaming sessions. The controller’s build quality is excellent, with a sturdy construction that feels durable and well-made. The buttons, triggers, and thumbsticks are all responsive, offering satisfying feedback that enhances gameplay.
Comfort and Ergonomics
One of the standout features of the Xbox Wireless Controller has always been its ergonomic design, and the Carbon Black model is no exception. The controller fits naturally in the hands, with well-placed buttons and triggers that are easy to reach without straining. The slightly smaller size compared to previous generations makes it more accessible to a wider range of hand sizes while still feeling substantial enough for extended gaming sessions. The textured grips and d-pad improvements make long-term use more comfortable and precise.
Performance and Responsiveness
Performance is where the Xbox Wireless Controller truly shines. The thumbsticks offer smooth, accurate movement with just the right amount of resistance, making it easy to aim and navigate in-game. The triggers are responsive, with a pleasing amount of tension that adds to the immersive experience, particularly in racing or shooting games. The redesigned d-pad is a significant improvement, offering a more tactile and accurate feel, which is especially noticeable in fighting games or when navigating menus.
Connectivity and Compatibility
The Xbox Wireless Controller connects seamlessly to Xbox consoles via wireless technology, with a quick and stable connection that ensures minimal input lag. It also pairs effortlessly with Windows PCs, Android devices, and even iOS devices via Bluetooth, making it a versatile option for gamers who play across multiple platforms. The setup process is straightforward, and switching between devices is quick and easy.
Battery Life and Charging
The controller is powered by AA batteries, which might be seen as a downside for some users who prefer a built-in rechargeable battery. However, the upside is that you can easily swap out batteries during long gaming sessions without waiting for a recharge. Alternatively, you can purchase a rechargeable battery pack separately if you prefer a more sustainable option. The battery life is impressive, offering many hours of playtime on a single set of batteries.
Value for Money
Given its quality, performance, and compatibility across multiple platforms, the Xbox Wireless Controller — Carbon Black represents excellent value for money. It is competitively priced and offers features and build quality that justify its cost, making it a smart investment for gamers who want a reliable and high-performing controller.
Conclusion
The Xbox Wireless Controller — Carbon Black is a well-rounded and refined piece of gaming hardware that lives up to the high standards set by its predecessors. Whether you’re playing the latest AAA titles or revisiting classic games, this controller delivers a responsive and immersive experience that enhances your gaming sessions.
Rating: 4.8/5
Had to buy a new one because of my old one broke. These controllers can easily last 2-3 years if you aren’t heavy-handed with it. But it’s one hundred percent one of the best controllers on the market, amazing response to input, no connection problems and very comfortable to hold.
The money is worth it, especially as Amazon allows a flexible payment plan so if paying it outright is a problem, then you can pay in monthly installments.
Pay for what you get. With the official brand you get quality and that shows in it’s weight.
Love the extra grip on both the back plate and triggers. Capture button is good, ease of use. D-pad is much better than the standard, just feels much better it’s indescribable. Colour is vibrant, all the buttons feel amazing as they should.
Everything feels solid, no complaints. Amazing controller and bonus that it’s compatible with my headset.
I’ve tried many of the cheaper alternatives, but this is the real deal for a reason. Nothing else comes close. Feels so good in the hands, lovely finish on the plastic. Cheaper alternatives feel hollow and light, with tacky cheap buttons and sticks. This feels heavy and durable, dense, you can feel the quality. Even the buttons and sticks have a lovely tactile response.
Connectivity is instant and satisfying, no dropouts, batteries last a very long time. What’s not to love?
5 stars.
This really is a solid product, it feels quality and very solidly made. The grip is just naturally good, I a previous product like this from Xbox, and I can honestly say that I think this is better made, overall I can recommend this product!
**Title: Outstanding Controller with Stunning Design**
I recently purchased the Xbox Wireless Controller in Astral Purple, and it has exceeded all my expectations! The design is absolutely stunning—the vibrant purple color really stands out and adds a touch of personality to my gaming setup.
The build quality is top-notch, with a solid and comfortable feel that makes extended gaming sessions a breeze. The buttons and triggers are responsive and precise, providing excellent control and a satisfying tactile experience. The textured grips on the back are a fantastic addition, ensuring the controller stays securely in my hands during intense gameplay.
Compatibility is seamless across my Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and Windows devices. Pairing the controller via Bluetooth was quick and hassle-free, and it maintains a stable connection throughout my gaming sessions.
Overall, the Astral Purple Xbox Wireless Controller is a perfect blend of style and functionality. If you’re looking for a high-quality controller that performs exceptionally well and looks great, this is the one to get. Highly recommended!
I recently purchased the Xbox Wireless Controller, and it has been a game-changer for my gaming experience. Right out of the box, the controller feels well-constructed and comfortable in the hands. The ergonomic design ensures that long gaming sessions don’t lead to hand fatigue, which is a significant plus for avid gamers.
The wireless functionality is seamless, providing a lag-free connection whether I’m playing on my Xbox console or my Windows PC. Pairing the controller with different devices is straightforward, thanks to the dedicated pairing button and intuitive setup process. The range is impressive as well; I haven’t experienced any disconnections even when playing from across the room.
One of the standout features is the textured grip on the triggers and back, which adds an extra level of control and comfort. The buttons and analog sticks are responsive and have a satisfying tactile feel. The D-pad has been redesigned to be more precise, which is especially noticeable in fighting games and platformers.
Battery life is solid, lasting up to 30 hours on a single charge with AA batteries. However, I recommend getting the rechargeable battery pack for convenience. Additionally, the USB-C port allows for easy charging and play-and-charge functionality.
The customization options through the Xbox Accessories app are a nice touch, allowing me to remap buttons and create custom profiles for different games. This level of personalization makes the controller adaptable to a variety of gaming genres and personal preferences.
Overall, the Xbox Wireless Controller is a fantastic upgrade for any gamer. Its combination of comfort, precision, and customization options make it a top-tier choice for both casual and competitive gaming. Whether you’re upgrading from an older model or getting a new controller, this is definitely worth the investment.
By now Xbox controllers should have been better, the controller is very loud when clicking the buttons compere to one I bought from AliExpress which is very silent when I click the buttons.
Great being an official controller and not a cheap knock-off version, so packaged and working as expected. I got it on a Prime Day offer, but at it’s full price they’re still too much money really.
As someone who spends hours immersed in gaming, this has become an essential companion for me. From the moment I unwrapped it, I knew I was in for a treat. The packaging was sleek and secure, reflecting the quality of the product inside.
The controller itself boasts a premium build quality, with a comfortable grip and responsive buttons that enhance gameplay. The carbon black finish adds a touch of sophistication, making it a stylish addition to my gaming setup.
One of the standout features of this controller is its wireless connectivity, which provides freedom of movement and eliminates the hassle of tangled wires. The setup process was seamless, and I was up and running in no time.
In terms of performance, the Xbox Wireless Controller delivers on all fronts. The buttons are tactile and responsive, providing precise control in every game I play. Whether I’m navigating through intense battles or exploring vast open worlds, this controller keeps up with the action without missing a beat.
But what truly sets this controller apart is its inclusion of a 3.5mm audio jack for headphones. Unlike the Xbox One controller, I can now plug my headphones directly into the controller without any third-party attachments. This feature adds convenience and enhances my gaming experience significantly.
While some may argue that the price is on the higher side, I firmly believe that the quality and performance of this controller justify the investment. Plus, the fast delivery and overall great service from the seller made the purchasing experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. If you’re looking to elevate your gaming experience, the Xbox Wireless Controller in Carbon Black is a must-have accessory for any Xbox enthusiast.
No issues, it’s a Xbox controller that I use with my Steam Deck and also my PC, no issues with it. works perfectly, grips well and has been used by me & my family with no “Drift Shift” or any complaints for the family
My last controller sadly died so i was forced to buy a new one, very glad i bought this.
Very sturdy, Battery lasts a long time as long as you remember to disconnect it before you walk away to do something.
it’s bright.
like bright bright.
which is amazing as I put this thing down everywhere and I’m still able to find it after I’ve finished being sidetracked.
feels comfortable
holds charge
and the xbox logo light blinds you when playing horrors in the dark.
its all that you’d want from a controller.
I didn’t know this at the time I ordered this pad, found-out later after buying the Play & Charge pack. The battery indicator, in Bluetooth AND the Game Bar, completely inaccurate. This is in Windows, 10 & 11 apparently. I’m using 11.
Bluetooth switches between 70+% and 100% and the Game Bar ALWAYS says my battery charge is ‘Critical’ .
As far as I can tell, after researching it, Microsoft have known about this for a long time, yet it still isn’t fixed. I have NO INTENTION of updating the Firmware, I’ve had MANY bad experiences in the past, especially if they want you to invest in a new device, they tend to break the old one, even though this is new.
Anyway, the pad works great in my experience so far, just don’t expect to be accurately informed of your battery level, because you won’t be.
Great pad, but some irritating software/hardware bugs.
This Starfield controller looks awesome love the design and the see through triggers!
Cant do 5* as the general cost of these controllers always hurts given how close they are getting to the Elite controller costs.
it’s an xbox series controller with starfield garb on it.
the changes are cool, i like the transparent triggers and the flight inspired gfx.
Beyond that it’s pretty much standard and considering the price of these things a bit of extra value is welcome 🙂
This is my third Xbox One controller. My first two were early models with the old style D-pad. They suffered from a broken trigger then a broken D-pad. Hopefully third time’s a charm and this one lasts as long as my old Xbox 360 controllers did.
I needed a controller fast but didn’t want to go off brand. I wanted to stick with xbox so I went with this series x controller. I wanted a black one but for some reason this neon green controller was about 10 euros cheaper so I went with it.
There are a few subtle differences for the old Xbox one controllers. First is the redesigned concave D-pad. This actually took me a minute to get used to as it actually does feel different from the traditional style D-pad. Second is the lack of rumble which I don’t mind too much but kind of miss. Thirdly is the added ‘share’ button which I really like as it allows me to record video and take screenshots without using the keyboard. Lastly is the textured grip on the triggers, bumpers and bottom of the controller. These are also a welcome addition and feel better than the smooth grips of the original controllers.
The wireless features seem a bit more responsive as well. It seems like the controller connects to my computer much faster and remains connected with any signal drops.
Overall I’m enjoying this controller and I’m glad I bought it.
I bought this product 2 days ago and just received it this morning and I am stunned how clean it is has no stick drift and looks like it is straight out of the factory would buy agai
Absolutely looking forward to playing Starfield and got this controller in the heat of it, Its an amazing looking piece of tech, especially those transparent triggers, that is bit too expensive for what it is.
At the end of the day, its a fancy Xbox controller. Great to get if you are a collector.
One con I have about this controller is that the texture on the part where all the buttons and joysticks are is a slippery type of plastic, I myself prefer the more rough texture on the original Xbox Series S ontroller.
The only I don’t like is that the usbc port isn’t great and the cables fall out sometimes leading it to disconnect of course. But apart from that it’s all good.
Like all Xbox controllers aside from the old Xbox one Red one they did, they all seem to suffer from terrible build quality. This doesn’t mean it gets stick drift immediately, but after three months of light usage the controller will either work flawlessly or start developing problems.
It’s a shame because these controllers are designed with comfort in mind, they aren’t too big or small and feel really good to use! They have a much nicer grip than the old Xbox one controllers. All that being said though they aren’t reliable at all. Stick drift, unresponsive buttons to outright failure of the controller all together.
Overall is a fantastic controller, with low latency and comfort in mind! Let down by poor build quality.
I had been using an official 360 controller on my PC since 2013. After a decade of service, it was time to retire it.
Generally, third party controllers are terrible. They just have something not quite right about them. I decided to pay more and get a brand new official controller.
Sadly with the PC, you need bluetooth for wireless mode. I decided to purchase a long USB C cable and use it wired.
As a controller it works great. It’s a step up from the 360 controller. The buttons work well, the D-pad is so much better and the sticks are brilliant.
I know it’s generally more expensive, but if you do get a controller, just a get a new official one rather than trying to save 10 – 20 quid on something that is refurbed or 3rd party and doesn’t feel quite right. I got a decade out of my old controller and I’m looking at something similar for this guy.

While I have nothing but praise for the Xbox Wireless Controller in carbon black, I must admit that it’s not entirely without minor flaws. Despite this slight issue, I can confidently give this controller a resounding five-star rating. Its impeccable design, comfortable feel, and customizable features make it a must-have for any serious gamer. It’s a solid investment that brings comfort, precision, and customization together in a single package. Kudos to Microsoft for creating a truly exceptional gaming accessory!
Good wireless controller. I dropped a star since the version I purchased didn’t include the USB wireless adapter required for PC use, & finding a genuine MS version can be a challenge. I used PKCELL NiZn AA rechargeable batteries which work really well. I’m not sure why these batteries are not more popular, and the NiZn chargers, available on Amazon are over priced. The NiZn batteres have a higher 1.6 voltage than other types of 1.2V rechargeable batteries, and so are a direct substitute for single use alkaline batteries.

Bought the Starfield Lmited Edition controller. Design looks sleek and understated.
The main reason why I bought this controller over the PS5 controller is because I’m using this to play games on a PC. Since I’m using Windows OS, I was thinking and hoping that it wasn’t going to take me more than a few steps to connect my controller to my PC.
It was plug and play, didn’t need to do anything special to get it to start working. Don’t know if it was because of Windows or if it was because of Steam.
Ergonomically, all of the buttons are within reach when you hold the controller. You didn’t need to stretch or strain to reach any buttons or joystick.
Lastly, I bought an expensive controller and it feels expensive once I got it: the weight of the controller and feel of the plastic feels premium.
-1 star because it doesn’t include a usb with the price. It did include a pair of battery, though.

While the Xbox Wireless Controller is overall a high-quality gaming accessory, some users have reported occasional connectivity issues or input lag. These issues seem to be sporadic and not present in every unit, but they can be frustrating when they occur.
In conclusion, the Xbox Wireless Controller in Robot White is a reliable and comfortable gaming controller that offers an enjoyable gaming experience. I made sure the gamepad I ordered on here was ‘Sold by Amazon’ to reduce the risk of receiving a counterfeit one. I chose the robot white xbox controller, and received a robot white series S/X controller. If you wiki ‘list of xbox controllers’ you can see which list your controller belongs to (my one is from 2020).
Pros
– The shoulder buttons, trigger buttons and analogue sticks seem to be of good quality.
– The controller includes 2x AA batteries so you are good to go if you wish to use it wirelessly, as long as your device has the bluetooth it requires to run.
– It has the usual xbox design which mainly borrows from the Sega Dreamcast in layout.
– The controller is recognised on a computer without installing extra software.
– The controller is not very heavy.
Cons
– The d-pad (especially) and it’s four main buttons are a bit loud or clicky which makes the controller feel cheap. There may be alternative controllers with better feeling d-pads out there, although if it’s for retro games you might be better getting a classic styled controller as a backup to this one.
– The battery cover is of thin plastic which also feels cheap. It may be hard to remove too, and feels like it could break. On the cover, put your finger or nail where the arrow shows and push up gently to open.
– The 2x AA batteries included are not rechargeable!
– There is no USB-C to USB-A cable included so you can’t use the controller wired for no lag and zero chance of signal dropouts, unless you have a modern phone cable available.
– For over fifty quid the gamepad is quite expensive.
ps Some wireless xbox controller chargers on here have been reported to damage controllers, so I decided to use a simple duracell AA battery charger instead. There don’t seem to be many that are compatible with the sx controllers anyway.
I avoid non branded items and made up brand name chargers for safety. If you go for any kind of charger or batteries, consider getting them offline or from a high st online store to be safe. I went for rechargeable AA batteries with the highest ‘mah’ rating I could find (highest that the charger could support) so that they would last longer before needing charged again. For the most part though, I’ll probably just use the controller with a phone cable to connect to pc or console.
There are reports of the white controllers changing pink on the back where your hands normally go, as a result of sweat and long term use. I have not had it long enough to experience this. Other than that, it’s still a good controller, and if you aren’t going to use it for many games which require many d-pad combinations (such as in retro fighting games) then you shouldn’t have a problem with it.
