It’s an excellent phone. It’s fast and I’m blown away by the charging time. Absolutely love this colour.
Excellent smartphone for the money, let down by poor software though
This is the first phone where the camera, functionalities and price was a great match. Took pictures during my holiday and the colour and light capturing was amazing. Only now need to figure out how to make night shots.
The product box says USB Type C cable included, but there was no Type C cable for Headphones inside the box. Does it not provided within box or it is missing in mine? As the product having earphones inside it but there is no 3.5 mm jack in mobile phone. So earphone should not work without USB Type C cable with headphone jack. So what is the meaning of providing earphone in box but no compatible cable not provided. Do I need to buy one separately to use the earphones? There is no mention of earphone on the box description but surprisingly it is there inside it 🙂
I could not expect such discrepancy with such premium phone.
Battery life and charge times are amazing. Photos great quality too.
The only con so far is the battery life, but with a 20min recharge time from 0 – 100% it’s kind of a moot point. Everything else is exactly what you’d expect from a flagship level phone. For the money it’s amazing! Only had it for a week, but so far couldn’t be happier.
*UPDATE:
So impressed with this phone. The battery life has evened out now, after a couple of months use I’ve found it easily lasts a full day, even with extended use during the day. The recharge time continues to amaze me & at this point I genuinely cannot find a single negative thing to say or fault to find. Runs Android 12 & has been “promised” Android 13 OTA update… Brilliant.
I purchased this phone for under 500 for the 8Gb Ram 256Gb Storage version. For the price it has to be one of the best bang for bucks you can get. The display is gorgeous, it has Widevine CDM L1 certification, which means that Netflix will play in HD with Dolby vision. The 120hz refresh rate make the phone buttery smooth. The cameras are very good, and video comes out well, but note there is not OIS on the cameras, just EIS. The finger print scanner is very quick, as as of writing this review the software is on android 12 with May 2022 security patch and MiUI 13.0.10. The speaker are nice and loud, and sound very good.
It will play just about any game you can throw at it, but does get a bit warm, after extended periods of playing AAA games.
The best thing about this phone is the charging. It has a good battery life, im getting between 20-30% left at the end of the day. but even if you are a huge power user, the 120W Charger, that comes with the phone, can charge the phone from 1% – 100% in under 20 mins. for the time it takes you to brush your teeth, the phone is at 40% charged. Xiaomi has promised 3 years of Android versions and 4 years of security patches.
As for the launcher, I quite like it. Its almost stock android, with some nice extras, like the control panel which is very “iphone looking”.
Why pay almost twice the price for a samsung or Sony phone, as this will give you 85% the value of a flagship phone for 50% of the price.
The only things missing are the following:
No OIS in the cameras
No Telephoto Lens
No Wireless Charging
Only IP53 splash resista
Prior to this phone I’ve always had the flagship Samsung models my last one was a note 9 which I wouldn’t have changed except that I dropped it and cracked the screen after 3 years of trusted use. It was going to cost about 1000 plus to replace like-for-like. I saw some reviews about this Xiaomi phone and thought it was worth a punt at 480. I can’t believe how amazing the phone is is compared to my old note 9. It looks fantastic with the iridescent blue back. It feels very expensive and very responsive in every way. It works with my car. It works with Alexa. The fingerprint scanner is unbelievably accurate and I can open the phone up with a number of fingers. The sound is incredible it has Dolby Atmos which you can hear through the headphones and make such a difference. The fact that you can use widgets which I could use on my previous phone is great. I don’t think I go back to Samsung now.
comparing to the budget and seemingly identical redmi note 10 pro, 11t pro is probably not worth twice the amount of money that i paid. on the other hand, significantly faster cpu and gpu and slightly better camera sensor cost what they cost, and given the performance this is still one of the more affordable mid to high end phones.
regular operations are super smooth, 120hz screen is a joy to look at, and dolby atmos stereo speakers sound great. do not forget to disable dolby atmos if using poweramp or similar with it’s own eq/surround!
genshin impact can play at steady 60fps on low settings, or mostly 60 fps at medium, and can still reach 60 on high settings! cod never drops bellow 60! some older games such as gta vice city can reach 120fps.. so, happy when it comes to gaming. battery burns quickly though!
can record videos up to 8k@30fps, or 4k and full hd @ 60fps. all but 8k resolutions offer electronic image stabilization. unfortunately there is no optical stabilization. important thing to note is that redmi note 11pro and all the accompanying phones are a downgrade compared to it’s predecessors, can’t record videos at 60fps! so if this is important (it certainly is to me) go for higher end models.
photos are ok, nothing special. in pro mode, given you adjust the settings, there is noticeable improvement over redmi note 10pro. auto/ai mode tends to overemphasize colors and contrast.
overal, i am happy with the phone, especially at the price i got it for. if you’re not a gamer though, there is no need to by this over note 10pro. photos are only slightly better, so camera alone doesn’t justify two times the cost. i did get twice the storage and more ram though.
EDIT: after weeks of use, i have couple of issues:
1. auto brightness – screen is consistently too bright and is wasting battery! this is probably due to the rear light sensor in addition to the regular front one.
2. video recordings at 60fps suffer from stutter. this seems to be affecting many current phones, not just xiaomi. but the whole point of high fps is smoothness which is almost annulled by this stutter.
warning: if charging overnight avoid the superfast charger that came with it! use 30w or so, as if you only use the 120w charger, eventually the battery calibration will go off, and once the charge drops to 10% it’s a matter of seconds before the phone turnes off. i do not think that overall battery life is much affected, it’s only the battery meter hopefully
