Great piece of kit, very easy to use. I had trouble getting the back case onto my watch, bought this piece of kit and in an instance the back was on. Would highly recommend

Just works. Select the correct size adapters for the watch, squeeze and the back is on. A shop wanted 15 to replace a battery but buying this and a battery was cheaper and have used it on 4 watches now.

I bought another similar one that I had to return because it didn’t work (poorly constructed). This one is a lot better because the upright part and base are one piece and so stable enough to apply a good bit of pressure to get the watch back to clip back on no problem.

If you’re like me you’ve probably tried to replace a watch back and broke the glass, well this is just the job. Soo easy to follow the instructions.

Well made, and a very good piece of kit. Would only be beat by a professional jewellers establishment.

Good solid piece of kit and easy to use. Enabled me to replace a cracked watch glass rather than pay someone else to do it. It’s probably paid for itself already!

got the back on my watch in no time, once I found the right size discs and applied a good pressure it clicked on, cheaper than a new watch.

I had no idea how easy it is to change a watch battery with the right tools. Almost impossible to close a watch back up without this gadget and it’s got plenty of sizes so it fits all my old watches. Nice!

Struggled to replace a push-on watch back – when this arrived it was back on in a few seconds. Very happy with it for the money.

If you want to save yourself money and replace your own watch batteries then you MUST buy this press. I changed batteries in 5 watches and 3 of the backs wouldn’t close for love nor money nor swearing and sweating! Nearly broke my thumbs off trying to get the backs on again…. Purchased this press and seconds later perfect little ‘snap’ and it’s back on. Super easy to use and definitely worth more than you pay for it.

I have a couple of watches whose backs are snap-on but not the kind you can do just with manual pressure alone, and believe me, I’ve tried improvising all kinds of ways to do it. However, after looking around, some of these machines aren’t as expensive as I imagined, so then it was a matter of finding something that, while at the cheaper end, wasn’t going to fall apart. I didn’t want to spend too much on something I’m only going to use now and then and it had to have a bit of heft.
This press is solid, the dies screw on very nicely, and once you have the right size dies in place, one press and your case back is on. Surprisingly well-made overall, certainly suits me for the occasional job and at this price it’s value for money. Comes with a set of dies that would fit most watch sizes.

I have a good quality Sekonda watch, and no matter how hard I tried I could not put the back onto the watch after changing the battery. I tried ever trick on the internet including blocks of wood and 2 adults pressing down but it would not go back.

I order this tool, and without reading the instructions I had the back on the watch within 90 seconds and it was the easiest thing to do. When you consider the price of the product, it’s quality and the amount of attachments it’s an absolute bargain.

I cannot recommend this highly enough and I am only allowed to give 5 stars, or it would have had 10!

This product us very easy to use – once you look online to see how to use the watch press. The instructions that came with it seemed simple enough but I couldn’t get it to work. The instructions said to select a die larger than the glass of the watch. I did this but what I was doing was selecting one that was too large. When watching the online video it explained that the die had to be the exact size of the outside case of the watch. Once I did this it was easy and have replaced 2 watch batteries so far. This will pay for itself in no time.

I purchased this press as I had struggled for over an hour trying to get the back on to my wife’s watch having changed the battery. The end of my fingers and joints were getting painful and the air was becoming bluer by the minute! I chose this press as it looked well built, substantial and the different sized bits screwed into place. Delivery was as predicted and it was packaged in a sensible size box.
I carefully selected the right size bits having watched a YouTube video and set about replacing the back. I carefully positioned the watch and pressed the handle down gently to ensure everything lined up. You need to exert a bit more pressure on the handle to get the back in to place and I definitely heard a small noise as the back seated in the watch body but how easy to use! Job done and no achy fingers. Why I didn’t get one of these when I brought the kit for removing watch backs goodness only knows. It really is a super little press and saves time and painful fingers as well as acoustic shock to my wife’s ears.

I simply could not apply enough downward force to get the 40mm steel back (with ‘o’ ring seal) to click into place by the normal means, however I just managed to do it by putting both hands on the small lever and jumping off the floor and allowing my whole weight (about 14 stones) to act upon the lever, clearly this is not a good idea, which leads me to conclude that the best tool would be a vertical screw type where of course much more pressure can be applied and with a much greater degree of control.
I might just add that most snap-on backs I’ve fitted in the past go on much easier that the 40mm back with ‘o’ ring seal, just fitted on my Accurist watch and in most cases can often be done just with pressure alone from your fingers, I will be keeping this press set however as I do not believe most other watch backs will be this difficult.

There are a lot of mixed reviews about tools like these, I finally took a risk on this one.
    1. The overall thickness, size and sturdiness is good. Goes without saying, use on a flat solid surface.
    2. The dies aren’t perfect. Have a look at them when you unpack it to make sure you are satisfied. I have noticed, especially on the smaller ones, that the center point of each die is slightly higher so it is not as flat as you need it to be. This could be why some people have experienced glass cracking issues.
    3. the instructions aren’t the best, so use common sense. You want to keep as much pressure off the watch glass as possible. Select a bottom die where the top edge touches the outer edge or metallic surface of the watch face. For the back die select one where the top edge matches the size of the watch back or slightly smaller.
    4. Pressure is key. Do not use too much and of course too little is no good. You want enough to just about press the back on. I have used this on 3 different brands and only 1 made a click noise, the most expensive watch was the hardest to get back on because of the rubber seal.

Overall it is a good product, I gave 4 stars only because the dies are not as flat as they could/should be.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThis is a great item which works with a large range of watches. However its important to underatand if used with too much force or if the watch isnt laid down in the correct position, then you can easily damage the watch glass. Its a nice item, but i strongly recomment you practice its use and use vert light force when operating it and most importantly position the watch correctly. Positioning the watch is trickly and i would say check and double check. I dont mean to scare anyone that wants to buy this, because its a good machine. I am only highlighting this becuase watches are expensive and to get a cheap item like this and not use it correctly can cause damage. I hope this helps . Takecare

Golden Review Award: 36 From Our UsersAs a collector of watches, removing backs to fit batteries or clean manual watches is a frequent requirement.
As anyone who has tried to re-fit a push fit back will tell you, some are straightforward, others are nigh on impossible.

I have a Mondaine watch that is an absolute nightmare to re-fit the back.
Until now I’ve had to resort to various methods. Clamping, squeezing, even the use of teeth.
But, there is always the possibility of cracking the glass.
I saw this on Amazon and thought I would give it a go. It’s so cheap, that even if it didn’t work that well, it would be worth trying.

The press itself is very sturdily built. It works off of a spring loaded plunger which you manually push down. So there is very little to go wrong.
It comes with a variety of sizes of dies.
You choose one slightly bigger than the face of your watch and screw that to the bottom.
Then pick a die slightly smaller than the back you want to fit, and screw that into the top thread.
Place a cloth under your watch to stop it from getting any scratches. Then careful line up the back correctly on your watch.
Check that it is the right way around.
There is usually a slot cut out in the back plate for the winder.
Then it’s just a case of slowly, but firmly pushing the plunger down.

On my Mondaine, it worked faultlessly, not too much pressure and a satisfying click when the back closed.

    I’m really impressed.
What was once a hit or miss task, now looks like it will be straightforward.

Having previously worked in the jewellery trade have always been able to get most clip backs on without tools by putting the watch on a hard surface face up, placing the padded thumb base part of the palm over the watch, then pressing down sharply keeping the arm locked straight. However could not for the life of me get the back on a Mondaine watch, mainly because the arms the strap fits into protruded below the back of the watch.

Anyways ordered this tool, it’s not exactly the Rolls Royce of watch closers – some of the plastic dies have a fair bit of moulding flash that could do with smoothing down and the dies do not quite meet concentrically when closing. However it worked fine in use, select the correct size dies, place the watch face side down using the cloth supplied to protect the watch finish, make sure its all lined up – press down on the handle (very little effort is required) and in an instant it’s job done! For the price I’d recommend it.

I bought this as a cheap tool to replace the glass in a Seiko that I scratched.

Initial impressions were that the tool itself is of sturdy construction but the dies feel a little bit cheap. The packaging was very simple and the dies were loose in the box having been originally placed in a bag that had been ripped open and tossed back into the box (seemingly).

With both dies fully screwed in there wasn’t enough of a gap left to enable a strong press, so I had to unscrew both the dies halfway in order to fully press the glass out of my watch. I am yet to replace the glass, but I’m assuming it’ll work just the same.

Overall I’d say the price reflects the quality you should expect from the product, and it did the job (with a bit of a bodge), but for long term use I’d suggest investing in something of a better quality.
