Cheap tools, but adequate for light use.
So long as you have realistic expectations of cheap Chinese tools you won’t be disapointed.
But don’t expect WERA quality.
If you want WERA quality, durability, fit and feel, buy WERA at 4x the cost.
I like that it comes in a zipped pouch but I think I prefer to keep them out of the pouch and in my toolbox as the pouch takes up too much room.
I like that the plastic holsters have the sizes of the allen keys marked on them and the allen keys also have the sizes marked on them.
I also like that they have bright coloured coatings as it makes them stand out so they aren’t easy to lose.
The coating feels very durable so it won’t scratch off easily.
Overall they look and feel well made and good quality, so I would recommend them.
These allen key and star key set are just as described. I use them at work and they have not failed me yet (they are used frequently each day) the case they come in is a nice touch too. If you need a set of allen keys then you won’t go far wrong with these and for a price that is a bargain.
YUFANYA 18PCS Allen Key (1.5mm-10mm) & Torx Key (T10-T50) Set
The Yufanya set comes packed in a sturdy box with a nice padded, zip-up case containing the Allen and Torx keys. The case has elastic straps holding plastic carriers, one for the Allen keys and another for the Torx keys.
The keys look well made, the keys are chrome vanadium steel and their mid sections are colour powder coated. They all sit quite securely in their respective carriers which have a sliding lock to allow them to be opened out thus making them about twice as wide but thinner (yes I couldn’t see the point either). And nice as the case is, I can’t see it making its way into many toolboxes as it would take up rather more room than necessary.
Having different colours for each key size can be a quick and handy way to find a size even if the light is poor, like it might be under a car for instance. I don’t know how long the colour finish will stay on there but being powder coated it should be quite resilient. The keys are good for size, they fit where they should and stay in the socket well. Ball end Allen keys are always useful as a quick way to screw in hard to access bolts before tightening them properly with the other end of the key and these worked well on the sizes I tried. It’s a shame there isn’t an equivalent for Torx keys, although I have had some success using a ball end Allen key when I found one that fitted.
As far as price goes, the Yufanya set at 21.99 (when writing this review) represents good value for your money and you could probably repurpose the case making it even better value.
Nice to see an allen key set that uses quick and easy to choose colours instead of making them all just silver or black, makes it much quicker when selecting the right size especially if you’re needing to use multiple keys when assembling flatpack
I reckon I’ve got about four sets of these that I’ve accrued over the last few years and because of that I know that they are actually half decent quality as non of them have broken or rounded off despite being wielded by a marine engineering gorilla with zero sympathy when it comes to removing frozen fasteners. Life on a ship teaches you to deal with the very worst of mechanical gear and tools are just that. An item to get a job done not to preserve in aspic on a shadow board.
So, these are decent enough for most. The colour coding adds a bit of bling but most of all makes them easier to see among the rust and debris of whatever wreck you are working on. Or in someone else’s tool kit that may be one that collects tools lying around…
Comes in a padded case which is a bit OTT really. Can’t see any purpose for it other than making these seem like something high end from Facom which, they aren’t. I dumped the case as soon as I tool these out and put them in my kit.
Overall, decent Allen and Torx keys.
I was really impressed with this set. First off it comes with a neat storage case that is simple but convenient. The sets within it have plastic holders which fold up neatly, lock into place and can be securely placed in the elastic inside the case.
The allen keys themselves really look great. I didn’t ever think I’d care for a coloured set of Allen keys but they’re suprisingly satisfying and the way they’re painted seems very durable and I think it will last.
They feel great in the hand and are comfortable to use even with a lot of leverage.
Im happy that I can finally get rid of all the odd Allen keys I had collected up over the years and just keep one perfect set.
This set covers all the commonly sized hex & torx headed fasteners that you’d encounter for day to day tasks and the keys themselves are colour coded according to their size so you can memorise them for faster access. The coating is somewhat textured but it honestly wouldn’t make much of a difference if you had wet or oily hands. It’s also thin enough that you won’t have any problems with access holes being too narrow for the key which I’ve encountered with the much more expensive sets from Wera that have a much thicker & soft coating.
I’ve used these on a range of socket headed bolts including M2, M3, M5 and M8. There were no issues with fitment and they all did an excellent job of tightening and loosening the bolts as needed without any slippage or rounding of the bolts. Just be careful with the smaller sized keys as those will have a much higher tendency to round bolts if you aren’t careful.
The length of the keys is somewhere between a stubby set and a long set, so they give plenty of leverage for most tasks without having to put too much muscle into it. They have a bit of flex when you hulk down on them but even my Wera keys flex a little bit and it isn’t really an indicator of quality.
I’m not a huge fan of the zippered fabric case, it feels like a bit of an afterthought as it only has spots for the two ‘sets’ of keys. If the case had a spot for each individual key it would be an excellent addition to the product. That would be much better than having to open the case, pull an entire set out, then unfold the set and then grab the key you need. I just personally found it to be more of a hindrance to my workflow when working on my projects, especially when half my tools are packed away in similar looking cases and there is no branding or labels on this one to make it easier to spot.
They’re very good keys and have been very useful while working on my 3D printers and building the odd bit of furniture. If I recall correctly these were 21.99 when I ordered them which is 2-3 more expensive than alternative brands selling the same 18pcs set of CR-V keys. The extra cost is likely due to the case so if you like the look of it then you might be happy enough to pay a little extra for it, but I personally wouldn’t.
Otherwise, I can’t fault these keys at all and if you need a set for the house or a spare set for the garage these are worth picking up.
I am very impressed with this set of Allen keys. They arrived with a small pouch to hold them in, that has a zip to keep them secure.
Each key is colour coded and seems to be made of a strong, durable metal.
This has the usual hex sizes, as well as torx which makes these useful for a variety of tasks around the home.
They are also a decent size and are easy to hold when in use.
The ball end makes them easy to use in more awkward positions, which is a nice feature.
All in all this is a decent set and well worth considering.
Great, wide-ranging set of allen key and torx tools, which I’ve used a number of times now for general bike maintenance. They seem robust, are easy to store in the rubber clip, and the colouring makes it easier to identify which one you’re after when scrabbling about one-handed.
I don’t think I’ve ever come across such a nice looking set of Allen keys and Torx/Star keys. Brightly coloured, well packaged and with their own clamp holders. These are so much better than my old bog-standard black Allen key set. I now don’t have to remember the size, just the colour! 🙂
These are all well made, the metal is all well formed and the sizes I’ve checked are accurate. There are three sets in the zip up storage case, the normal metric set, an imperial set and a star set. They are coloured for easier identifying and the balled end is always good for angular turning when against a tight surface.
The full price of 30 is overpriced for the set of three, I’d have put these at 20 or just over for the lot.
Good tools.
This is amazing set and what’s even better comes in handy zip book like case to keep them all together. Have more sizes than i need and having different colours is amazing. Had no issues with these so far and they are strong.
These are a great set of Allen and torx tools. The bright colours are nice and with regular use you’ll learn which size is what colour. The tools themselves seem to be good quality, I’ve used a free of them adjusting mountain bikes and they fit perfectly and are easy to use, the ball ends are pretty good and make it a little quicker to fasten bolts back in. Nice little pack to keep them in nice and neat and tidy. Good value and easy to recommend.
Feels very substantial in the handy carry case. Surprised how heavy actually .
I’m torn because I love the whole look with the coloured coded sizes and neat tidy storage clips ( with size labelling ) and my ability to just grab the tool I need quickly .
Most of the time I don’t know what size I need anyway I kind of eyeball it ha ha .
What was a nice little feature was the texture / finish on them , giving a little extra grip .
Not sure what alloy is combined with the steel ( never heard of it before ) but maybe this is what makes them just a little bit flexible ( see the video ) . Not the best for leverage to be honest . Which is why it’s a four star and not a five .
It’s swings and roundabouts I suppose because you get a lot for you money but with the caveat of being a tad flexible.
This is a great set as it has many sizes and the star drives are security but ready so taking apart electronics is easy.
Good case which zips up to keep all the bis secure.
Great for an amateur DIY person.
Great set, colour coded sizes in a range of commonly used sizes. This combined metric Allen key and torx key set is very well made and packaged within a nice, zipped case for storage and protection.
The keys are strong and well finished and store well in the holders.
Ideal for around the house, garage or workshop tool box.
I got these to help out with work as I use a pot of torx and Allen keys inside the machine so I thought these would come in handy for a backup when they get lost. Great quality and colourfully coded. The zip up pouch is a nice touch, feel premium and protects them
These allen keys are pretty big.
Pretty heavy for just some allen keys for likings.
Its very strong and will probably last forever.
Good sizes and covers all the standard sizes.
Good to have around the house.
Colour Coded Allen Keys –
This eighteen piece set of Allen keys are well manufactured and they look and feel very premium. You get two nine piece sets. One set is regular hex heads, with a ball end. The other set is Torx ended. The sets are coloured coded. The colour coating serves three purposes in my opinion. Firstly the colouring makes them look super cool. Secondly they will allow you remember and choose the correct size quicker. Thirdly the colour coating adds a texture which helps you grip them better.
I particularly like the ball end design, this makes doing up hex fixings a lot quicker. Overall decent quality tools at a good price. The zipped carry case ensures the Allen keys stay in perfect condition, and not rusting away in the bottom of your tool box.
Visually this set is eye catching so I particularly like the colourful nature of this set. More usefully for me personally is the fact that they do the job without bending and I have the size and type I will need for whatever job without having to use my husband’s tools. The set comes in a storage case and slide lock tool holders making the set easy to transport and keep organised. I am happy with this product.
Have already got plenty of use out of these and they are the best Allen keys I have used so far. The colour coding makes it easy to get the right one every time and the included case keeps them looking good and I can always find it.
So far with a full garden furniture set assembled the edges haven’t been affected at all and will last forever. The colour coating has a textured grip making it much easier to use without slipping out my hands.
Great value for money.
These arrived well-packed.
I received 18 pcs of Allen keys.
They are different colours making them easy to find the right one.
I find them very useful around the house and they are of very good quality and durable.
They come in a nice case so easy to store and use.
I am very happy with this product and would definitely recommend it.
Perfec
…which is always a good thing. Sometimes when using an Allen key I have to try several to find the right size, but being colour coded it becomes a doddle.
These two sets of keys, Allen and Star, are the ones most useful in the UK. They come in a neat canvas case which keeps them clean and dry and easy to find – how many Allen keys have I lost/mislaid over the years? Being different colours, makes them easier to find when dropped, plus each colour is a different size.
These are well made and seem to be very strong – just used both sets on my robotic lawnmower’s annual service and gave me no problems at all.
A good quality set of Allen keys and Torx set wrenches that come in a zipped canvas bag.
All the wrenches are colour coordinated with the sizes clearly labelled on each tool.
Very pleased with them and they are certainly useful for completing many projects. Five stars.
price at time of review 21.99
great little kit. the included carry case is nice and holds the 2 packs in one place.
onto the keys them selfs, ridged and able to take a fair bit of force befor any flex. the sizes are spot on and fit snugly in the bolts ive used them on so far.
the coating seems to be well done and provides some grip whilst using them.
The images provided by the seller are accurate, so please refer to those where necessary.
This is a great set that will come in useful for a wide variety of household / DIY tasks. It comes in a good case and as shown each allen key is brightly coloured which makes it harder to lose them. The whole product is made well and should last a long time.
Highly recommended!
