I bought these as they are small enough to use at the same time. They work well and I’ve had no issues since my purchase. You can’t really go wrong with Anker.
Does exactly what I need it to. Allowed me to connect Apple USB Superdrive to MacBook via USB C port.
I think it’s better than the Apple version! It is smaller and a fraction of the cost, and it doesn’t obstruct the adjacent USB C port (like some do).
Usable with the iPhone 15 Pro Max and honestly, it’s insanely useful being able to plug in almost everything, you’d be surprised what can be plugged in.
Connectivity is very good, high rates, it’s also very small and great value for money.
New work laptop only had USB C ports, most of my kit is USB 2. These are perfect for the job and appear well made as with all of the Anker products I’ve purchased.
Nicely finished product. No problems with using. Great to get a twin pack as there is always a spare or can be left on another cable. I excellent price. Overall very pleased.
Bought two of these as my latest car has USBC and my Apple phone cables from my previous car and home are B.
Works great, used with existing cables. Good quality, does the job and means you can still use your existing cables.
Just bought a new iMac, no USB-A ports, all USB=C and my peripherals are all for USB-A. USB-C hubs found only had 2 outlets and quite expensive! Then found these Anker Adaptors. Fraction of the price of a Hub so ordered 4, arrived within 48 Hrs, plugged in, everything worked speed was OK for the devices I had connected, small light on adaptors confirmed connected, I was well pleased
I buy Anker over everything else as I have had positive experiences if anything goes wrong. They used to offer a lifetime replacement on cables – which was extremely reassuring, but having just checked it seems that this has quietly been removed and they now offer 18 months.
The adapters are perfect for bog standard conversion – as everything is moving towards usb-c there are plenty of usb-a peripherals that will keep going thanks to these bad boys. I have tried other (cheaper) brands – but these have exactly the right form factor. I use an MBP and side by side usb-c doesn’t tolerate ANY additional width from an adapter.
I haven’t tried with any tricky peripherals, these were labelled “series 3” – but it is unclear how they handle specific standards for eg: 3.x power and data transfer speeds.
My last pair of adapters (another brand), which were used to allow USB A devices to connect to USB C ports on a MacBook Pro were advertised as offering USB 3.x speeds but didn’t –the Mac saw connected hubs and drives as USB 2.0 devices. These Anker adapters work as advertised so my USB 3.0 hub and USB drives now work at decent speeds.
Did not wish to buy the Apple dongle to be able to use my new phone with my Cambridge Audio DACs as it is very expensive
I tried the Anker cabled female usb a to usb c but although it passed the audio there were a lot of clicks which made it unusable
This device did the trick plug it in to the phone and a tiny led comes on then plugged into the usb A cable from the DAC and it works a dream
When streaming from the phone the DAC says it’s receiving 24/192 but when playing back from my music library on the phone the DAC says 24/96
All sound great
Very good recommend
I’ve bought a pack due to my new USB 3 transferring data very slowly onto my laptop. I did at reformat it all etc to ensure that comparability was not an issue however this made no difference. But, once I bought this is I found the speed of transfer read and write did increase! It has made a massive difference to me actually being able to access data and work. It is well priced for a pack of 2 and compared to my old one which I believe is not USB 3, it is much smaller. This makes it easier to travel with compared to my old one which was a long cable. Overall, I’m very impressed and happy with my purchase.
3 years ago I purchased a MacBook Pro and the accompanying Superdrive, which uses a USB A connector.
Apple had done away with these, in favour of twin USB C ports, and so connecting standard USB things required an adaptor.
Now, no adaptor I purchased, would make the SD work, and I kept getting a window saying ‘accessory needs power’, and no matter what I tried, I couldn’t get the thing to work.
I made an appointment to my local Apple store, and took my stuff to them, and asked them to work out, why it wasn’t working together.
Their response was simple…..it’s not compatible sir.
So for the past 3 years, the SD has sat in my cupboard until yesterday.
I stumbled across a video on YT, with a bloke who had the same issue, and his solution was to choose an adapter, which crucially didn’t have a wire between the USB C plug and the adaptor itself.
The official apple adaptor had a wire, and other aftermarket ones did to, and I tried 3 or 4 of them, to no avail.
So, having used Anker products for ages, I ordered this, and thought, I have nothing to lose.
I tried it, and boom it fired into life and works absolutely perfectly.
3 years of waiting and lots of money spent on various additions, and this little gem, has come out gleaming.
Another great vote for Anker!!
It does the job perfectly, and the manufacturing quality is as good as it gets. The plus is firm.
Keep in mind though: I’m not sure whether the metal small case acts as ground or else, but I got a good electric shock, when by accident I had mi fingers on it while my hand was touching the metal case of my iMac (to much gear, not enough space). Now, this is not a situation that would happen commonly, and the low voltage makes the shock harmless, but I was worried for my USB controller.
No harm done in the end, but it’s something to keep in mind if you are using it in a very cramped and busy environment like in a small workshop.
Perfect fit for the car. Nice and small which makes it more pleasant than the longer versions
Likes: you can put 2 of these in the MBP 16″ side by side. Well made solid feel.
Cons: no
Fitted into thunderbolt 4 socket then connected to Arduino. Worked perfectly.
Ok, it’s an adapter but saves having to buy a slew of new cables.
Product as described. Looks good on the laptop and useful when you need something on the “old” USB port.
Enables original USB accessories to connect to 2023 MacBook Pro USB C
Absolutely top quality adapters. Just right fit on both ends (no USB A plugs falling out!), rock solid build, nothing flexes or moves. AND it looks great. Just bought a second pack.
Very happy about this little adapter.
I was able to connect external mic (audio recorder) Zoom H2n via USB to my OnePlus 6 mobile phone and record audio using an app Mobile HandyShare Pro.
I use it for copying data from and to my external regular USB pen drive, as well was able to watch films directly from it on my mobile, which is equipped only with USB C.
Uing them to connect USB devices to my MacBook Pro. Nice tight fit and work faultlessly
I bought these for my older products, which I don’t yet want to replace with USB c versions. This is a newer standard and a lot of my products have the old USB3 standard plug. These were very reasonably priced and work well then optically sturdy as they’re very small but they do the job as intended. I can recommend these.
have used about 4 of these for a few years now – work well, no problems so far, and the light is useful to know it is working.
Brought these to be able to quickly transfer photos or a file from my iPad to another persons laptop and so far it’s doing it perfectly via the memory stick. Such a great little gadget!
Small and neat, this adaptor fits a standard USB port into your USB-C device. Low profile, and with a small footprint, it stylishly allows you to keep using legacy USB devices with your new computer/ laptop.
Not much to say really. They just work perfectly as expected. I guess being able to buy just the one I needed, rather than two, would have been nice.
I purchased this as I have been having issues with a mic. The mic uses USB, and my machine only has USB C.
The USB hub I had was causing popping, I figured I’d try this to reduce the amount of cables being used and this has resolved the issue.
It’s as described, i don’t find this to be too little. It’s just the right size.
Great quality USC type C to A adapter from Anker.
Adapters are built from an all metal design and feel very robust and durable, whilst being very compact and lightweight.
I’m able to use both of them side by side in my M2 MacBook Air with no intrusion which I really appreciate.
I have a case on my Mac too and the adapters have no interference with that either (which I was worried about!) and I’m able to close the lid with both of them in.
Much prefer these to the Apple adapter as they look far cleaner and makes for a slicker workstation.
I’m not using these for high speed peripherals (i.e external drives etc.) as I run those via type C, however all legacy type A devices I’ve connected have run without issue.
Much better value, quality and experience to the Apple adapters imo – highly recommended them!
