Great cable, better quality and makes crisper picture on TV
Can’t comment on durability, because not had this HDMI cable long, but works perfectly, picture & sound quality is good without any issues.
does the job and works well with my tv set up
It’s a cable for hdmi. It transfers video and audio signal. That is what it does. It will not make you coffee in the morning as that is not how it was designed.
Needed a much longer HDMI for my Xbox Series X as I needed to feed it through a newly constructed media wall and the standard cable was far too short. Only needed 4m max but this 5m one was on spec for 9.03 which is a steal. No issues with the cable and it’s very thick and looks durable so no doubt about the length of time this will last for. Nice looking gold plugs are a nice touch also
Bought his cable in 2016 and it has been going strong since! No issues with image quality and everything works great. My only qualm is that the cable quality is great but it also makes the cable quite stiff which can make it hard to get it in the perfect position.
Great quality and after spending loads of money on inferior 4k hdmi leads I now have ones that work for 4k and the TV quality is the best I’ve had on over a year so I ended up getting more leads for my game consoles. Obviously these aren’t as cheap as others but in this case you get what you pay for and I would definitely recommend them .
A good priced and quality 4K cable as now this standard is well established you won’t get ripped off. Mine turned up with one of the raised labels shifted out of it’s slot. Just glued back in but has not effect on function.
I read on lots of sites hdmi is hdmi so just chose this one at random based on price and number of reviews tbh , I had the original hdmi that came with my sky q box and my new uhd tv was awful and flicking to the extent I arranged to send it back I changed to this lead tv is now what I paid for so I cancelled the return it was sky’s hdmi lead that was not good enough for the tv , there certainly a difference from original lead to this I’m no expert on 18gbps or 8k4kall sing and dancing, to me it a hdmi cable that made my tv what I paid for and did improve sounds and picture quality lead is nice quality to feels sturdy and looks good ( behind the tv )
Good quality cable.. the lead is extremely thick and therefore not as flexible as one might expect from HDMI cable. We can’t persuade ours to curve enough to hide behind TV. It’s the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars
I can’t fault the picture quite or the durability or sturdiness of these leads. However, probably because of this then the leads are not very pliable and therefore I’ve deducted one star to reflect this. If you’ve got plentiful room between appliances then it’s not an issue but as I was having to thread these leads through holes in the back of units then it was a pain that they weren’t more flexible.
I have a number of these leads around my home connecting various items to my TV etc. The lead is very well made with a tough out-layer which not only looks good, but protects the lead from damage. Connectivity is also excellent – never seen any sign of interference or had a problem with this lead or any of the others. While there are cheaper leads out there, they tend to made of thin plastic with plugs that do not always fit tightly which can lead to interference. The price difference with this lead is typically only a few pounds, but the extra cost is definitely worth it.
I ordered two of these cables for a couple of tasks. The first task was to replace an old cable that connects to my laptop periodically. The cable is past its best and causes the picture to break from time to time.
The other cable is being used to connect a Home Theatre system to a 4K UHD TV.
The connectors appear to be good and solid and the braided cable means that it should remain to be reasonably flexible too.
In both cases, the picture appears to be good, with no loss of quality.
One happy customer.
I’ve never purchased a main brand HDMI cable as they tend to be very expensive so I cannot compare to one. What I can tell you is that these cables are definitely up to the job of streaming 4K HDR movies with brilliant looking pictures and awesome sound. I have purchased these in the past and can only say they never let me down apart from the our sheath starting to pull from the connector. This does however not affect the picture or sound.
Bought a new TV and needed HDMI cables to connect my Sky box to the new TV, which didn’t have a scart connection. Saw mixed reviews for these cables and whilst I thought they cost a little more than I wanted to pay, I decided to give them a try. Very happy with the purchase and the quality of the cables, for me they were worth every penny. Connection from Sky box to TV works without any problems.
Fantastic cable for all HDMI connections up to 4k UHD, but have found if you are using this for a 4k HDR system, or a ultra 4k premium certified or more recently a 4k system with Dolby vision or HDR10+ then this cable will deffo cause problems from starting up then just having a blank screen or if you are lucky to get a picture it will randomly flash for a split second either a green or bluish colour, at first I thought it was my system playing up, then realised you need a different HDMI cable for these newer spec 4k systems, if you have a 4k system that doesn’t have the above mentioned names then this cable is a cracker for price to performance, if you do have a 4k system with any if the above names like HDR then you gave to buy a HDMI 2.0a or 2.0b as these are super high speed cable certified but more importantly the 2.0a or 2.0b can handle the extra information needed for the colour pallette that HDR or Dolby vision needs, this cable can only handle up to the older 4k UHD only systems, and if you really want to be future proof as far as you can for now go for a HDMI 2.0b cable, totally backward compatible as well, I hope this helps people better understand the differences of HDMI cables to the newer specs coming out for 4k
The new soundbar refused to work with the old hdmi cable, and that almost ruined the impact of having a new 4k tV and sound system.
But, I’ve run a movie from the laptop to the TV using this cable and both sound and video were amazing.
I discovered my “new” cable actually dated back to 2010, and there’s been several improvements in HDMI spec over the last 8 years, hence the failures when new equipment uses old cables.
If you’ve bought a new soundbar, or TV, then get a brand new cable to go with it… or you may find you get radio silence out of the soundbar.
The look of these cables is impressive, and they feel robust, and are difficult to tangle up.
I’ve been needing a HDMI switch for along time and it’s finally got around to purchasing this Kiirie switch. My Vizio TV only has 2 HDMI port and one is used up already for my Chromecast which leaves me only one for my Blu-ray player. I always had to move my TV and replug my sat box and Xbox as well as my karaoke video input and it was a huge hassle.
Tries all the different HDMI cables and loved that it works flawlessly with great image clarity. I like the easy button to switch input signals. Overall very satisfied with this unit and can’t price was decent too.
I am using this cable to drive 4K@60Hz from a PC graphics card output to a 4K Sony TV. Text and lines are extremely crisp. I believe the signal from my graphics card is using 4:4:4 chroma sub-sampling (no compression) but it is hard to test exactly.
The cable is very well constructed, with a sturdy braiding on the outside layer, and the connectors are high quality.
The only reason this cable is not 5 stars is that the shroud around the connector is slightly fatter than it should be. This means that there is only one HDMI input on my TV with sufficient clearance to accept the cable. The other two HDMI inputs are next to a bezelled edge in a connector panel which is slightly too close (maybe 1 or 2mm) to the socket which means that even though I am able to plug the cable in, I can feel the socket slightly deforming in order to change the angle to accept the cable connector.
If you have HDMI ports with very narrow clearance above and below them, then be aware that the shroud on this cable may be too large. Other than this, it’s a great value purchase.
I was advised to purchase a gold plated hdmi cable for my PlayStation 4 and Xbox one. I originally thought a HDMI cable was just a HDMI cable, regardless of whether it was gold plated or not! How wrong I was. The smoothness and colour is incredible, and it makes my live streaming of gaming great. Also fantastic on action films on Blu-ray. This is a heavy duty HDMI cable. Much more solid than the standard one’s that come with console’s which I tend to find that the connectors bend or come off. I also bought a 1m one of these, which was a little short of where I wanted it to go,but after moving a few things around everything was great. I would highly recommend the 2m version to any gamer or film lover who watches a lot of Blu-ray’s
I read the comments made by other buyers of this cable, and decided to purchase one myself, as I had just bought a new television set. The package duly arrived, (well packed) and upon opening, I saw this evidently high-quality cable! The stiff outer covering of the lead was not as flexible as some of the other hdmi cables that I had bought in the past, but the performance outweighed this. Excellent picture/sound quality was enjoyed, and the cable was easily coiled out of sight at the rear of the tv, and fixed in place with a small cable-tie.
I have since purchased another of these excellent cables, and have recommended them to my friends.
Hate putting this but these really do exactly what they promise. We purchased a 4K TV some months ago, when you go down this road then the hdmi cables become mega expensive on the high street. To buy a like for like version of this cable we were distressed to find a price tag of nearly seventy pounds.
I bought this because Amazon and most of the traders are excellent they refund when that product does not live up to your expectations.
Do not despair this item is up to the job, as good as any of the high end cables on offer at rediculous prices at a fraction of the cost they arrived quickly efficiently and we were up and running in no time.
Months on they still work like a charm.
The old adage “you get what you pay for” does not apply here. You get value, quality and excellence.
Whenever you go looking for a new piece of electronic kit it usually says you need to buy an HDMI cable separately. Take a look at all the different HDMI cables on the Amazon website and you start to realise that this is not as easy as it sounds. Having taken the time to look at a large number in different price bands I decided on this little beauty. I have always had an eye for quality and this cable oozes high quality in terms of build and materials for a very reasonable price. It has been driving a Roku 3 for the last week and the results are excellent in terms of picture and sound. Highly recommended.
Bought this in the past and had two devices that could use an upgrade in cables. Very satisfied with the the cable I already had, so just needed the right length and it was purchased.
Many cables are gold plated but do not have the quality this cable has. It’s sturdy and doesn’t get interference from other devices or cables. Which is why you’d want a cable like this one.
The updated hdmi is a nice benefit. And of course.. The price! When HD was new I payed near 70 pounds once for a cable.. It was excellent, but not worth it looking back. This is a bargain and a great price and even better value.
I recently purchased 2 of these cables.. I thought 29.99 down to under 7 surely its a good cable for that money?. . We’ll when I opened the cable and felt the weight of it I was very impressed..not only is this cable very weighty and supremely engineered right down to the gold tipped connectors but the cable is braided in a hard flexible plastic feeling coating. I have parrots and rabbits so this was a great bonus for me.. I use these cables on my os4, Virginia media box and plasma TV,s and they are top quality. This cable Is the best hdmi cable I think you can buy for the money and would recommend it very highly..
Having purchased many different HDMI cables from Amazon over the years, I have to say that this particular HDMI cable really took me by supprise. I purchased two of these HDMI cables in the “PRO GOLD” 1m option, both for the same purpose, to connect a 5-Way HDMI Switches to an AV receivers (one is an dedicated Onkyo receiver in the family room and another is an LG home theater in a box system in my bedroom).
When both of the HDMI cables arrived, they came in sealed plastic shipping envelopes which kept things much more simple as apposed to those of other HDMI cables I have purchased (including “Belkin” and “Duronic” HDMI cables, which I also purchased from Amazon) which come in clumsy and buckly plastic packing which is just nothing but frustrating to open and un-environmentally friendly.
The build quality of these HDMI cables is nothing short of fantastic! The construction of the plugs are very strong, featuing gold-plated plated and the cable itself is braided and feels very robust. It looks like it will really take a good beating to destroy this cable and I am pretty sure that it will last for a long time, so no worries here!
In terms of performance, this cable is outstanding! This is all due to it’s supreme build quality, great shielding and amazing conductivity that some other HDMI do not provide. This cable is rated as a HDMI 2.0 cable, so it is fully capable of carrying 4K @ 60Hz! This cable is also 3D compatible and is capable of handling Uncompressed HD Audio Codecs, such as Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio and LPCM with 7.2 channels of audio. At the moment with my current equipment, I am only using this cable to carry 1080p @ 60Hz with only 5.1 Uncompressed Audio, and the picture is razor sharp, full of details, has lot’s of contrast and the colours are true and vivid! Unlike any other cables, I have not had any handshaking issues and/or onscreen artifacts/glitches like I have experienced with other cheaper cables.
There are also other variations of this cable available, including the “BLACK GOLD” and “ADVANCED HDMI” (which I am not too sure of the differences in these cables, I believe it may be just build quality). I will also mention that these cables can be bought in any length between 0.75m to 40m.
All in all, I strongly recommend these HDMI cables and they are well worth the purchase!
I recently acquired a new UHD TV which replaced a relatively modern predecessor, for which I thought I had all but one of the necessary HDMI interconnects. The only difference was that the new TV had HDMI1/ARC, requiring an additional HDMI cable, whereas the old one relied on a separate optical link. So not being able to wait to try out my new TV I popped out to the local DIY store and bought what appeared to be a decent quality HDMI cable across the counter. After all the all do the same thing, don’t they? WRONG!!!
I spent several days trying to figure out why the sound bar worked with the TV when viewing SKY TV; but not when viewing content via the TV’s own tuner, or streamed via the TV’s Smart functionality; and why I could not control my BluRay player. Eventually (although this was not clear from the packaging) I concluded that the newly bought HDMI cable might not be ARC compliant and was only supporting data INPUT to the TV. RETURN signals were not being transmitted. At this point I decided to test my theory by purchasing an IBRA High Speed Gold Red HDMI 2.0 cable via Amazon. What a difference! Not only did everything work as it should; there was also a clear improvement in the detail of both the audio and visual data transmitted. If (as I am currently considering) I decide to replace all my other HDMI interconnects, l will certainly upgrade to the IBRA product. It was even cheaper than the inferior DIY store product!
I have previously bought 3 of these HDMI cables in the past and while I am no technical engineer they are just brilliant.
They are in effect ‘just a cable’ , (what can you say about a cable)?
Well, they come in a simple grey package but when you open the plastic bag you know this is a top quality product. The finish of the cable and the HDMI gold plated connectors are clearly first rate. In terms of helping to provide a High Quality picture on my TVs, the only thing I do know is that the quality of the viewing screen is just fantastic. I watched the ‘Hunt’ on BBC and was blown away by the standard of the pictures. All this and a great price, these must be the best value for money on Amazo
Used this to connect my Windows 8.1 64 bit i7 laptop to my LG TV. This HDMI to HDMI cable looks good with quality braiding and gold contact ends. It is fairly flexible. It looks and feels like it could take a lot of wear and tear. Can’t really comment on performance except to say that it transmits Blue-Ray quality from my PC to my TV along with sound. For this price I rate it most highly and would have given 5* if the flexibility was even greater. Then again that’s not important to me but it might be to you.
So what to say. Well. Thousands of people love this cable. And y’know for the price it’s a steal. I mean 6 ish for an HDMI cable thousands of people like, who wouldn’t go for it! However……if you like your picture quality, I would *strongly* recommend you check out the QED Classic 1m cable (the white one). It’s 10 on amazon at the time of writing and for the cost it’s a *steal*. Doing a side by side comparison to this IBRA cable is like comparing a stills camera kit lens (the one you get in the box) with a lens the next level up – using the QED cable the whites are brighter and whiter, the picture is crisper and more realistic and it’s easier to see depth of focus on screen. In short the IBRA looks slightly washed out and the QED looks more like you’re there.
Yes it’s nearly double the price but it’s still only 10 for a cable, some people pay hundreds! And no I don’t work for QED, I’m just a guy who doesn’t use his kit lens.
UPDATE:
Just tried it on my computer and played some games and it’s AS good as the QED cable.
I needed an extra HDMI cable to watch movies on holiday (many hotel rooms have digital TVs with HDMI input), and this cable is probably over-specified for the job.
Very well built, solid feeling cable, no connection problems and I expect it’ll withstand a few years of connecting/reconnecting and being hastily chucked into a full suitcase. Admittedly this isn’t how most people will use it.
The only annoyance, and again particularly with my personal use case – the packaging! This cable comes wound up in a loop and tied together with cable ties that need scissors or similar to undo. FFP (frustration free packaging) should be standard.
Otherwise, a great buy.
Firstly, I feel I should give a mention to the merchant HD Zone, who I bought this cable through, using Amazon. I ordered it in the afternoon and it had arrived by 11am the very next morning, packed extremely well and in perfect condition and perfect working order. It was a pleasure to deal with them and I will definately be buying their products again.
Anyway, I really can not add a great detail more than others have regarding the HDMI cable itself, besides my own person experience of it, so that’s what i’ll do here.
The cable itself feels extremely well made, it has sturdy metal connectors, a protected cable covering and is a good length, adequate for most normal use, it doesn’t feel as cheap as the price would possibly indicate. (7.49 at the time of purchase). I’ve paid far more for HDMI cables and recieved far poorer quality items than this. It feels good and right from the start, that gives me the feeling and confidence that it is going to work and not break easily.
My reason for purcahase, was to use it with a HDMI splitter and seperate HDMI Audio Extractor, meaning, 3 HDMI cables, from source, to TV. Before doing that however, I thought I would give the cable a run, purely by itself, to see how the picture from my Virgin Tivo Box, to my HD TV would look and sound, well, I was quite surprised that the quality improved quite a lot from what I thought was a fairly decent HDMI cable that I was using until that point. Suffice to say, I now have my XBOX 360, Bluray player and Virgin Tivo going to a HDMI splitter, then to the HDMI audio extractor and then from that to the TV and the sound using a different audio cable going direct to my soundbar. You would imagine noise and loss, but there is absolutely none, the picture is as perfect as direct from source to tv, on all 3 media devices. I’ve played my highest frame game, watched Oblivion on Bluray and watched BBC1 HD to test and the quality remained perfect, where as with previous HDMI cables, I had suffered ocassional pixelation and reduced sound output on those.
To me, this is one of those products that is often understated, due to there being so many cheap options around. With this kind of thing, cheap certainly isn’t best, well normally, but in this case, the price is either an error due to how stupidly low it is, or all the other stupidly high priced HDMI cables are just pure ripping people off.
There may well be better HDMI cables out there and heck, as said, there are certainly a multitude of cables out there costing a lot more money, but for the price, this is by far the best HDMI cable I have come across and I really could not recommend it highly enough.
After ploughing through the mind field of which TV to buy following the sudden death of my old “Sony “I decided to buy an all singing and all dancing “Panasonic”
“Can we have a smart TV, can it be 3D, I want to link up my i-pad , I want to link up my i-phone” , “who’s going to f-in pay for it more like it”.
After the shock of losing 1499 pounds, and no I don’t mean three fat Americans kids on surveillance, the TV salesman then tries to roger me for 3 X 49.99 for the HDMI leads. “149.97 for leads are you crazy? I may be a little dazed from the 1499 hammer blow to my wallet but I have still got my wits about me”
The salesman proceeds to rattle on about how superior they are and I need them to give my TV picture justice. My wife starts to agree with the salesman and insists we buy them as part of a package. At this point however seeing my anger well up she drags me away before I dish my own kind of justice. “OK you better bloody get them then and before the TV arrives” she said.
I calmed down, went home, opened a bottle of single malt & ordered these off of Amazon. I’ve worked in telecommunications for 27 years and I can vouch that these have the feel and quality that will astound you.
Wives, they can put you in jail, keep you out of jail but they know f-all about HDMI leads. Oh yeah leads were delivered well before the TV was!
This HDMI cable is great for the price. It looks very professional (I am not the person to ask whether it really is professional) and it works well without any problems. Due to the fact that the cable is rather stiff I should have ordered a longer cable – you lose quite a bit going around tight bends and corners (if you have a TV stand and want to hide the cable you may want to take that into consideration). The plugs fit well, are heavy, gold plated (no corrosion) and the cable is very well insulated.
I would buy this cable again without any doubt and can recommend it to others, though, you may want to measure whether you are ok with 2m given the stiffness of the cable.
2 METER PRO GOLD RED (1.4a Version, 3D) HDMI TO HDMI CABLE WITH ETHERNET,COMPATIBLE WITH 1.4,1.3c,1.3b,1.3,1080P,PS3,XBOX 360,SKYHD,FREESAT,VIRGIN BOX,FULL HD LCD,PLASMA & LED TV’s AND ALSO SUPPORTS 3D TVS.(2m/6.4ft)
Delivered in 4 days; good low price for an excellent, durable, high performance cable. Picture very good in blue ray and 3D; don’t know if the `Audio Return Channel’ works as I haven’t got facility for that yet. I spent over a week researching cables online (after using not very good cheap different make cable) and I know I’ve finally made the right choice with this one. I bought it especially for my blue ray player /TV. I have to invest in another one for my free sat HD box/TV, as I’ve noticed the lips and voices are not synchronizing on TV, when using my free sat HD box with the cheaper (different make) 1.4 high speed cable with internet.
I have purchased a number of these cables because the quality is just great. I have tried them with Sky, Blu-ray, Apple TV and from a computer to a projector and in all cases the picture and sound have been great. They look good and feel well made, although the extra shielding on the cable does mean that they can be a little hard to twist into place if you have limited access to the back of your TV (like I do with one I have on my wall).
I have tried cheaper cables, but they have sometimes let me down, whereas these have been faultless. In my opinion, you often want to cable kit up and then forget about the cables from that point. On that basis it is worth paying a little extra for cables you can trust.
I bought this cable to improve the gaming experience on my xbox360, the standard cable i was using wasnt good enough as it kept tearing on the screen and as it was a new Tv i thought the problem was with that. I chose to upgrade the cable first to identify the problem and since then the quality of the picture on my screen has increased 3 fold! I have no tearing and the quality of sound is excellent and its brilliant value for money. A salesman tried to sell me a cable with the same spec as this for 90.00 as a respectable retailer, and I laughed at him after seeing this. I’ll be buying another one of these for my PC soon enough. Fantastic product. The one thing i will say is, the picture doesnt really do the cable any justice as the sleeve is darker in reality and looks very sleek and feels of a good quality. Impeccable service.
Just recently bagged myself a 3d LED tv + blu ray player, so naturally I wanted to make sure I would get the best picture and sound when hooking it all together.
Ok I will admit I am behind the times so had never used HDMI cables before now – as my old equipment did not need or warrant it.Anyway, less of the waffle – what about these cables????
Well after looking locally for cables – I was horrified by the prices being asked for these cables – so naturally I went on line to search for a better deal, and these popped up.
I can honestly say that despite my limited experience of this type of cable I was very pleasantly surprised by these cables. They not only look good – after all when you have nice equipment
you don’t want to spoil the looks with drab looking connections – vain I know ,but….
The cables themselves arrived in just two days from order – very prompt, and nicely packaged. So how do they perform – in a word exccellently in my humble oppinion, both sound and picture seem
spot on to me as confirmed by watching, Lord of the rings extended edition on blu ray, and also Frozen Planet(some breathtaking moments and scenary etc) To sum up – I can’t see how you can go
wrong with these, especially at the price, and the fact that they also look terrific as well is only an added bonus. Thoroughly recommended, and I may be going to order some longer lenght one soon.
I have nothing but praise for this product, and for the vendor. Delivery was excellent, product packaging was adequate, an inferior product may not have stood up to “Royal Mail”, as well as this one did. This is what I term a real “Quality Product”. To start with, the cable reinforcing and connectors look the part, and thats always a good start. Not only did they look the part, but proved the point by the quality of picture coming through the cable, on to the T.V., excellent picture. I doubt if there is any better HDMI cables, on the market at this time.
This is what I admire about Amazon and the Vendors they use, for sales from their “Market Place”. It’s real peace of mind ordering from the Amazon “Market Place” as proved by this particular product and the Vendor who sold the product. I bought the cable to use as the main HDMI cable going into an HDMI Splitter box to allow me to show my still photo’s in “High Definition” on my T.V. As said at the start, the quality of the HDMI pictures being transmitted, by the use of this cable is outstanding. Sometimes when you have a series of cables around your Television, they can be pretty unsightly, not when using this cable. The manufacture of the cable, and it’s connectors are a picture themselves, and can be left out in view, without fear of embarrassment. “Great Stuff Guy’s, Keep Up The Good Work”.
I’m using this cable to link my new Panasonic TV Panasonic Smart VIERA TX-P55VT30B and Panasonic DMP-BDT310EB 3D Blu-ray Disc Player and it does the job admirably. This is my first venture into the world of BluRay and 3D and I’m delighted with the results. Since I don’t have an older existing system to compare the new one to then I can’t say “this cable has improved picture clarity by x%” but I can say I’m very impressed with what I see. 3D is a joy to watch and the Viera link works as expected e.g. turn the TV on and the BluRay player comes on too, although I’ve not been able to test Ethernet ability as the TV has a wired connection while the player uses WiFi.
I’m happy to recommend this cable, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
First things first…
HDMI is a digital format not an analogue one which means that the quality of the media has no impact on the quality of the data transfer. There are exceptions, but in this case of no relevance. Which means that should this cable indeed cost nigh on 60 it would be such a rip-off that even a one star would be too much. There are cables below 5 mark that will work exactly the same and just as good.
Why pay more then? Well, if you’re happy to ‘splash out’ on aesthetic value on top of the functionality alone, this cable strikes the perfect balance. And the more cables we have this days trailing in every single room of our houses, anything that stands above bog-standard hideous is a nice change. Looks good, works well and you don’t have to sell a kidney to get it. Recommended.
When I purchased my new HDTV I originally ordered the much cheaper MicroVillage – Premium HDMI to HDMI Cable with gold connectors ([…]). These get decent reviews so I thought fair enough, a cable is a cable.
It turned out that these were rather unreliable and though there was nothing wrong with the picture quality when it did work the Viera link functions between my Panasonic DVD Recorder and TV refused to work (This allows me to use the TV remote to control the DVD function – I initially assumed that this was a fault with my older DVD recorder).
It turns out that it is worth paying that bit extra. Every time I moved my TV on its stand the connection would fail so I decided enough was enough and ordered the Pro Golds.
The connection does not fail when I move the TV (this is when I change the angle for gaming etc) and even better the Viera functions on my Panasonic set up now work perfectly.
The cables themselves are very good quality. When I connected the TV up initially I was concerned that the fit wasn’t very tight (The MicroVillage cable was very snug) but as I have described above, the connection never fails.
Though I wouldn’t recommend spending hundreds on bogus “professional grade” nonsense that will never improve your signal quality I highly recommend paying the bit extra as reliability is a feature definitely worth paying for.
A good quality product, and with a free 10 year guarantee you know it’s built to last. I purchased this HDMI cable for a fantastic price and the quality is outstanding. Whilst I agree there isn’t a great different between HMDI leads at this length, I did notice a remarkable improvement to the range of colour depth and shadows within games in comparison to my old HDMI lead, specifically whilst playing Heavy Rain and Mass Effect 2 demo on my PS3 system. I am safe in the knowledge that this lead supports 3D technology should I upgrade my television set in the future and the connection between the television set and PS3 system is secure and fits well. The lead, as others have mentioned is not very flexible so it is wise to get a lead slightly longer than required but overall it’s a small issue and I am very pleased with both the product and the seller.
I purchased this Pro Gold cable to carry around with my laptop; now I am able to transfer my TV shows onto my laptop with a Hauppauge HD-PVR High Definition Personal Video Recorder,
Hauppauge HD-PVR High Definition Personal Video Recorder (01228)
BBC iPlayer works also but you cannot download content from overseas. Now I am able to watch all of my content on a big screen, overseas, just like at home. I don’t see many five metre HDMI cables and many of the hotels where I have stayed, do not have good access to the plasma screens and a 3 metre cable can just about reach. I was very impressed by the value for money this Pro Gold cable represents, at only 19 for a 5 metre cable. The build quality is first rate; I expect the technology to have moved on long before these will wear out.
I must add a lot of people are still confused between analogue and digital. Just because you buy a high end plasma screen, some retailers imply that it should follow, that you also need high end expensive cables to compliment your home cinema. Whilst that may be the case with an analogue system with a digital it should “in theory” make no difference.
My advice is don’t waste you money with these expensive cables – it won’t make any difference to the quality of the picture and invest in a set of these Pro Gold cables – it will do the job just as well, if not better, and the money you save can be best spent on the blu-ray box set of your favourite television show.
So far I have absolutely no trust in any of the cables I am buying. This is the third cable I have bought for my blu ray player, and the exact same problems are happening. Both our HDTVs are only 720p not 1080p, so maybe that is the problem, or maybe it’s a fault with the blu ray player itself. Either way, every cable that people say are great, I am just being continuously let down all the time, the signal will not seem to be permanantly held while using the blu ray player. The results are continuous flickering and the screen going blank for a few seconds and sometimes minutes before recovering. Something is wrong, I don’t know what, my confidence in it all has gone, both TVs I have connected the blu ray player to are showing similar results, and I’me fed up with it. I was at first very excited about entering the world of blu ray, but so far I have had continuous frustration, and there’s obviously something they are not doing right. It’s probably not really Amazon’s fault, it’s the actual makers of these cables surely.
This is now a slightly edited version of the original. This cable is now performing without any faults whatsoever, due to my own perseverence that is. This now makes the above statement look like a falsification, something of which it wasn’t originally you understand, the above issues were a never ending problem as stated.
Since then this cable is now appearing to be living up to my initial expectation, as described in the product description, extraordinary. Will update again, should things as they currently stand change in the future, as close monitoring on every period of operation will be the key to this.
I bought the 2 metre version of the Pro Gold HDMI cable to allow me to get the best quality from an Xbox Elite that I’d just bought. I’d used an expensive HDMI cable for my DVD player but didn’t want to spend that sort of money for gaming. I’d used a Pro Gold coaxial cable before and found that to be pretty good and at the price thought I’d give it a go. The cable turned up quickly.
The PRO GOLD HDMI cable is well made, it looks and feels like a quality cable and the quality of the picture that I’m getting is excellent. If I need another HDMI cable I wouldn’t hesitate to repeat the order.
I was concerned about buying an inexpensive cable after reading some reviews. Apparently, the very cheap cables are prone to failing after a short time. This one was not the cheapest, but it was certainly not an exorbitant price. It works fine.
I recommend that you consider getting a longer one than you first think. Mine could do with being another metre as I sometimes use it to connect the laptop to the TV and the cable restricts how far I can sit away from the TV and control the laptop.
The cable is well made. When calculating the length that you need, allow for the fact that the cable is not very flexible. Don’t use this type of cable if you need to route it around tight corners.
After ordering, this lead arrived with in 48hrs,which was quick.
On opening you realize that this is a quality product and,it
comes with a plastic cap on each end to protect the gold
connectors..nice.For the price this hdmi cable is a real steal;
picture,sound,chunky gold tip connectors,build quality,just
about everything,it`s STUNNING!
Some state that the bog-standard hdmi cable(like the ones that
you get with skyhd box)have the same picture & sound quality as any
other hdmi cable. This they say is because of the way hd signals are
transferred…..well not in my experience!
I have done my own comparisons,& gold tips DO preform better, this
is probably because gold tips have/hold a better connection into
your a/v equipment.Comparisons were carried out by watching sky+HD,
in hd & sd,& blu-rays &,using a sky hdmi cable,& two gold tip hdmi
cables.Clearly there is a difference,sometimes a very noticeable
difference on hd & sdtv pictures when using gold tip hdmi cables.
With this cable in the the set up,pictures had more depth &,bolder
colours.Even through the tv speakers, sound fills a room to a very
believable high standard.
Conclusion:
For the price you`ll be hard pressed to find a better HDMI Cable
of this quality;gold tips,chunky well made connectors,full “1080p”.
If you don`t want to spend a fortune, but want a high standard
qaulity hdmi cable, this is the cable to get,an Excellent Product.
Highly Recommended.
