Unit cools room very effectively and a very good purchase, it’s not that loud and a solid investme
Pretty easy to set up (I already had a vent in the wall I could attach the hose to with minimal effort). The app works well, and not too difficult to set up. The unit is set up in my room which is approx 4m x 4m and makes a noticeable difference after an hour or so, although the room hasn’t got anywhere near the 17 I set it to, (I have run it for 3 hours max). Its also not quiet at all, too loud to have it running while I sleep.
Would recommend if you need to cool a small room only, and can vent through a wall rather than window.
Price did go up while in basket, could of purchased the 8000 btu (3000 more for 15 more) looking back I should of done this but was in a hurry, had issue with Evri delivery service but was able to correct this, the item iself does the job for a small living quarters, but mostly happy with the product and it’s energy use, thank you very much
Just to start, we have a small motorhome. It’s an older one with no air con. I bought this because it’s smaller than most and should sit nicely between the driver and passenger seats up front with the hose out of one of the windows with an adapter I designed and 3D printed. It’s low enough power consumption that we should be able to run it on an electrical hook-up when we’re parked without the risk of going over the limit.
For the moment, it’s in my office at home. A small box room of around 7.5m^2.
It’s bloomin’ hot here but I’ve just got it running in fan mode. It’s a bit on the noisy side so I have to turn it off if I’m on a call but it’s actually pretty effective just like this. If I switch it to air con mode then it is definitely a lot cooler.
It’s certainly good enough that I’m tempted to order a second one to keep at home permanently.
Nice unit, noisier than expected but arrived just before the heat so I can live with it!
Easy to connect with app / Alexa and remote control works just fine.
Dose it work ? Yes it dose very well for a medium size room ( make sure you seal the room and the exhaust pipe vent , however for sleeping it’s a bit on the noisy side , Top Tip make sure the unit is level and allow it to settle before use if it starts to make a noise I found shaking the unit a bit helped (yes I know I said let it settle ) my verdict ? Worth the money compared others in this price range and I have had a few trust me
I took a punt on this on prime day as it was cheap but had few reviews at the time averaging only 3 stars (countered below) – however it was a hecking good punt and an absolute godsend during the heatwave!
Works exactly as you’d expect from a small standalone A/C unit – yes a bit noisy and no it won’t fully chill a room larger than stated in the specs (eg my room!) But most importantly it is genuine aircon and does properly cool the air so when directed at your person it is absolute HEAVEN even if you can’t afford the larger one you might need to cool the whole room, and if your room is the right size it should be ideal!
Remote is solid and works nicely – if you press “on” and the unit doesn’t receive the signal then you have to press the remote twice so it’s off then on again, but that’s a very minor thing, otherwise all good.
As far as the previous reviews go, several mentioned it turning up broken so I presume they’ve got a better delivery service now as mine did not, and I haven’t really tried the smart features so can’t comment but for the price and what I use it for I haven’t needed to so that’s just a bonus
I’d definitely recommend it so long as its specifications fit your needs, and it’s still useful beyond those specs too
I got this in last heat wave cools a small room pretty well was a blessing in the heat defo glad I got it. Only issue is it leaks water like a broken fridge! If there was a better way to collect water then empty it would be good. I just placed it on a towel on a plastic tray empty it when it’s wet. Was worth it to escape the heat and sleep at night was bliss
Purchase this I see unit to use in the recent hot weather in a small room. It coats perfectly. It’s sturdy well manufactured the instructions are very clear and it’s not that noisy. The only thing I would say is that sometimes the calling doesn’t seem to kick in immediately. I think this is actually how it is and not a manufacturing fault but I’ve not inquired with seller yet. I would recommend to anybody who is struggling with the heat to get one of these there be careful to make sure you can vent the system through a window properly otherwise you’ll be wasting your time
I purchased this due to bedroom being above my boiler. Due to having a dog that also sleeping in my room and it been incredibly hot this machine cooled the room down in about 5 minutes couldn’t Be without it now.
After the first weekend of 32+ heat and the tower fan I already had just not cutting it, I decided to take the risk on this unit and I’m so glad that I did!!
I sleep in a loft conversion and even with the blackout blinds closed and the windows closed the room was 32+ with no air. After replacing the hose the unit came with (due to windows being high the original hose wouldn’t reach) and turning it on I left the room for an hour and came back not expecting much, but the temp in the hall to the room already felt a little cooler… The room itself was down from 32 to 24!! It was amazing! I spent most of the weekend during the last heatwave in the bedroom!!
Yes it does make a noise but given it allowed me to feel comfortable and able to sleep the noise it emits is worth it
The unit is small enough to store away when not in use so if you are hesitant I say… Buy it, it definitely works! Whilst friends were complaining they hadn’t slept during the heatwave I was well rested!
It definitely cools down the room and works great easy to set up don’t drain loads of water either but it’s quite noise so if you can’t sleep with things like fans on and stuff this machine isn’t for you
I bought the smallest unit for an extension room that isnt on central air. Does a good job in keeping temperatures down – room is about 5mx5m with a west facing window – its been managing to keep temperatures down to 22 the last few days with outside temperatures of 30 – its not big enough to keep ot at 22 once the sun moves round though, it rises to 24 then, but still a lot cooler than without. Noise wise its not as noisy as other portable units ive had before, and doesnt bother me. For the price a good unit, but if tou want quieter the you need to look at a split sustem, either portable or permanent.
The main reason I chose this particular model is because of the phone app. I own another larger air conditioning unit and, despite being from different manufacturers, I can use one phone app to control both machines wherever I am.
This machine has 2 fan speeds. The louvres are fixed and do not move or swing like some AC units. It is relatively quiet with the fan on the lower speed.
A window kit is not included and you will need to collect water generated from a pipe at the rear of the unit. The supplied hose is good quality.
The overall functionality is sufficient given the price. It seems (like everything else in 2022!) that prices have gone up. 300 used to buy a fairly robust powerful unit, but these are now 400-500. 300 will now only get a basic model like this but it does what it sets out to do.
I use mine in conjunction with a ceiling fan which improves its overall efficiency.
I can’t really comment on the sleep timer (I won’t use it). The remote control is simple enough. One nice touch is that you can turn off the LED display. To be honest though I will control this machine via the phone app.
Bought for a small bedroom but I was unable to install it because it did not come with a window fitting kit. Ordering one produced a slow delivery.
I have a bigger 12,000 BTU model made by the same manufacturer which did come with a window fitting kit and which is quieter.
Easy to setup and start using. Cooled my sons room (4m x 3m) down from 29degrees to 21 degrees in 20min. Used in our living room, 15m x 6m and cooled it down in 30min. The only down side, the hose is quite bulky. But works a treat!
I saw the reviews and thought I’m gonna try it anyway, I was amazed at how wrong the reviews were! It’s an amazing unit cooled my whole upstairs floor down, ok it’s not a huge house only 2 bed semi but still! I put the aircon unit in my bedroom placed the vent out of the window using a window vent kit that I bought separately and I left the room and closed the door. Walked in an hour later and the room was like an icebox. It had cooled down so much I didn’t need to use the unit again for the rest of the night. It’s a little noisy, a bit noiser than a large fan. The noise doesn’t bother me but may bother some. But over all a great air conditioner for the price would definitely recommend in fact I did and 3 Friends have now also bought one.
Everything as described for the seller apart from noise level! What is a bit disappointing. I was looking for a low noise Aircon so once I read out the description I opted for this unit as the noise level is, hi 52db/low 48.2db how ever once the unit arrived and unpacked there is a label saying that the noise level is 63 db what is not as described for the seller, it’s coming with full instructions, exhaust hose, unit adaptor, drine hose remote control with bateries include and it’s very easy to connect with the phone app, so if you want to connect the Aircon while you are out, you can do it form anywhere, what is one of the functions that really liked. Nice Aircon apart from the noise level. The video shows low fan mode, it also doesn’t have swing feature.
I was a little nervous about buying this unit having read the reviews. Headline is that this really does work! It’s going to be my room saver over the next few weeks that’s for sure.
This is the least powerful unit in the range, however I am using it in a loft conversion that has been a horrible 32c. The unit does need some time to being the temp down but the room is now a comfortable 23c. Will it work for incredibly large rooms, possibly not, you would need one of the more powerful and expensive ones for that. Will this cool down a moderately sized bedroom or office room? Absolutely!
The only two criticisms I would give it, but don’t let it put you off purchasing:
1) Pair up to WiFi took a bit of effort. The instructions I would say are the wrong way round. You need to get the app and then pair via that. The instructions have it the wrong way round.
2) the supplied exhaust tubing was quite short I think 150cm extended. My windows are quite high up. It may be fine if you have the unit directly under a lower window but there isn’t much flexibility. Again this can however be resolved by buying either an extension kit, or a new longer tube. I got a new exhaust tube and simply refitted the two plastic ends to that.
Oh and finally.. It took me a while to realise.. The air con mode seems to be set to automatic fan speed which makes it high.. Which is quite noisy. This is easily changed ok the app. Simply un click automatic, and then lower the speed to low. Makes the sound much more tolerable and still seems quite powerful.
Hope this helps, and anybody looking to cool a normal sized room, don’t let the negative reviews put you off.
When the Uk heatwave hit and I was suffering in a box room that becomes the outside temperature, I decided to purchase this.
It’s fantastic and has cooled my room right down. I work nights so having to sleep during the days in the heat was unbearable but this AC unit has helped.
It is a bit noisy, but nothing that would disturb your sleep if you enjoy background noise or white noise.
It’s pretty straight forward to assemble, took me all of 10mins. I haven’t used the app yet so I can’t comment on that.
I think the 5000btu works best on a smaller room, with the door closed.
I’d defo recommend, don’t hesitate to buy it!
I have a fairly small room, about 12m2 so I opted for the 5000BTU unit.
I am running two 27inch monitors and my gaming PC which I use rigorously that vents a lot of hot air the whole time I’m on, As you can imagine during summer temps around 24-28degress C currently where I am – my room gets very very hot and humid reaching 30+degrees consistently.
So far this AC unit managed to cool down and maintain the temperatures I set, roughly 18-19 degrees C instructions are straightforward if you are using a window vent I highly recommend buying an AC window seal kit for like 20, the cooling difference is night and day.
It took about 20-30 mins for my room to cool down to the set temps, based on the setups I am running, this is understandable.
The only issue I have is the noise – If you can imagine a very loud and large fan on full blast – now imagine theres 2 of them, its very loud in the high speed fan setting, but not too bad on low speed fan.
I tend to have my headphones on anyways so it doesn’t bother me too much.
Fortunately I have not received a damaged product, so my experience is positive so far, I can only advise buyers be careful before adding it to the basket, as they have different sellers, its always better to choose the more trusted ones!
Took around 10 to 15 minutes to blow chillled air from turning on. When in fan mode, cool air blows from unit and vent hose. Remote doesn’t work. Overall, worth the money and seems a well made item.
