I wanted this to remove the panelling hiding the concealed toilet cistern. It does the job perfectly. However, when I released the suction (the tabs) the heads were still relatively stuck on – had to be manoeuvred off carefully. Came with no instructions but they are probably not necessary.
These were purchased to lift 2.5m x 1.225m x 1.5mm aluminium sheets.
They are dead easy to use, will lift said sheets over 9 feet using a pair of pulleys and will even retain their suction overnight.
Being of plastic construction I don’t see these surviving long for industrial use, but for domestic / hobby work they are great.
Highly recommended!
Always wanted one so when a job came up I did t hesitate, wouldn’t have been able to fit the glass without these, made things much easier, felt safe and were easy to use
Bought to position a large mirror on a wall. Works really well and a handy tool to have in the armoury for holding things in place. Also handy for lifting furniture like a desk into place. Pending it having a shiny surface, if course.
Extremely strong; I can leave these things leeching on my fridge and freezer doors all week as unfailing makeshift handles.
I imagine one could pull large tiles off a wall with them too.
As with all powerful suction cups in my limited experience, they do mark surfaces with quite stubborn rings of dirt(?) that possibly become harder to clean the longer the cup’s attached.
Bought this suction cup lifter to help remove a plinth under my kitchen cabinets. Sadly, the plinth isn’t completely smooth, so the suction cup wouldn’t adhere to it. Nothing wrong with the product – it clings strongly to my granite worktop – the problem is down to me!
After some knob dinked my car I thought I’d try this little sucker before forking out a hefty bodyshop bill. After pouring hot water over the dent I wiped it down and applied the sucker. Most of the dent popped straight out but a smaller part by the join remained. After several attempts that seemed to be the best I could do, BUT it does look better than it did. As said in other reviews the surface has to be pretty flat for it to attach, so no good if your dent is on a corner or overly curved part of your vehicle. On the whole I’m quite please with the resul
Bought this for a specific reason which was to pull out a large dent in car door and what a result.
Just saved a garage fee of proberbly 300 by spending 8 on this little gem, pulled out dent on second attempt.
Bought this for handling large sheets of glass for my Rhino greenhouse. On a previous build I had used a single suction cup. This item gave a very secure attachment with less fear of losing grip and it made handling large sheets of glass straightforward. It was easy to use and I am sure will be useful for other glazing jobs when they occur. I might even buy another three and ascend The Shard!
I recently purchased this product for my mum because someone had put a dent in her car. I wasn’t expecting much due to the price but it was surprisingly very strong and worked a treat.
The only advice I would give to anyone wanting to purchase this product for a similar issue is to make sure your dent on your car is on a flat surface.
Absolutely brilliant.
I bought this to close the gap between wooden floor board panels in one of our bedrooms. It worked great.
After pressing down and clipping in at the open end of the board i got as low as i could to the floor and pulled it horizontally. It took a few tugs with some panels but then worked a treat. This meant it would open the gap further along but this was under the beading trim against the skirting.
Great strength and hold on glass patio door, only sorry I could not shift it out for repair.. had to employ two professionals easily sorted in the end..
I was therefore unable to complete the task this product was bought for.. I requested return for refund and these understanding people kindly refunded me immediately and told me I could keep item, no need to post back..
Wow !! I am delighted with outcome and fact that one day this may have a valueable service to provide.. many thanks to those who took their time to assist me…needless to say I am impressed with such generosity….
Worked perfectly for removal of a burst double glazing unit in our van.
Popped out the beading, stuck this to the window on the outside, cut (with a sharp kitchen knife) the old sealant from the inside, and kept working this (pulling and positioning it to the corner that was being cut etc), took our time (it’s a 2 man job for sure), and the window eventually came away from the unit.
Once this was secured to the window, it was not coming off without using the release clips.
Excellent value and will use again (2 or 3 other units failed or are failing, doing it ourselves saves hundreds of ).
I recently bought the Am-Tech Duty Dual Suction Cup to remove the glass from a 27” iMac that I was refurbishing as a pet project. The product was packaged pretty basically, but being as robust as it is, it really didn’t need anything extra inside. And robust it is! It feels sturdy and the suction really is industrial strength.
I had the screen off in a jiffy. I would highly recommend this to anyone needing to do carefully remove glass from such things as small windows, laptops and monitors. It really does give you confidence that the glass will stay put throughout removal.
A great product.
I bought this to build a vac-lock camera mount. Suction is strong, stable and lasts. To construct the mount I cut off the handle part, filed the top of the plastic pad flat then attached a Manfrotto Monopod Head Quick Release by drilling and bolting through the yellow plastic after first removing and then re-assembling the rubber pad and handle. I then attached a Manfrotto 494RC2 Ball Head with Friction Control to the top of that. Rock solid. This is far stronger than most vac-u-lok camera mounts and also doubles as a simple, compact and lightweight table-top stand for macro work or astrophotography The other choice was Laser 3711 Dent Puller/suction Cup/twin – Aluminium , which I’ve also got but haven’t yet felt a need to “upgrade” the assembly to.
