Looks and works exactly as described, very good quality and easy to install
good quality attachments, easy to change between them and is 10x more comfortable than the stock pads
Could be alittle cheaper but to be fair to it it’s way better than the crappy foam one that itchs and steams up and the one with glasses cut out works well and has not steamed up on me at all not to keen on the rubber nose bit but it works clipped and snapped in to place easily
Does what it says on the tin, very easy to fit and very comfortable. I like that unlike some spongy cover pads that just soak everything up, you can wipe these in case you sweat. So much more hygienic.
Bought this to replace to awful default sponge padding you get on the Rift. I like this one, as although it is still spongey, it has a leather coating to it, meaning that your sweat from those long gaming sessions just doesn’t soak up into the padding anymore! Would recommed!
I wear glasses, and have never been able to wear my Rift comfortably – the pressure on my temples and bridge of my nose was quite unpleasant. Popped this bad boy on, and it’s a whole new experience. No pain, no discomfort, and it eve *looks* better because I can keep my glasses positioned properly.
Not sure how it’s going to go for durability as the foam is very squishy, but I might stock up on a few just in case it gets discontinued…
These are a natural progression from the base faceplates that will eventually wear out. These will not. However, two things to be aware of is that it pinches the nose quite tightly, and also the material doesn’t absorb sweat, so you will find your face wetter after a session, especially if it’s been a high-energy game.
100% better than the original Oculus one. A bit fiddly for step one of the installation. Took me a while to work out this step and a while longer to complete it. I almost wanted to skip it but it’s worth perservering. The other 2 steps are easy. Only just got it so can’t comment much more but it’s comfortable and secure, so far pretty pleased. Wish I had bought it a long time ago.
Easy use and application to rift CV1, not the easiest to set up but once in place is locked in well, nose attachment definitely required and not sure how it impacts foggy lenses but definitely doesn’t grab and hold hairs as much as the original!
This product is great! With my picture, you see that it’s glasses friendly!
This cushion has got me excited to play VR again because the original one was stuck with adhesive and was peeling off and was extremely itchy. Although that hasn’t fully changed (itchy), it’s definitely not as bad, and the cushions are modular! It’s adhesive friendly which means you WONT have to deal with that problem, as it is Velcro! Easy Instalment and for me has a perfect tight fit so the headset does not fall off. Not only that, it has a nose cushion so it eliminates a lot of like what the CV1 original struggled with.
My only complaint is that the VR a bit of a hassle if you wanna wear glasses with it, but that can easily be fixed by placing the glasses in the headset first (not rating it down for that though as it’s Mainly the VRs fault)
Great product, great quality. 5*
This product is just what I needed! Dry, comfortable and allows you face to “breathe”. Easy to attach to visor.
The nose cover is no addition though. Assembled it with the nose cover art first. Was uncomfortable. Took it off and found it was completely unnecessary!
Would recommend for anyone.
Note: can’t comment on very rigorous games like Beat Saber but fine for Alyx, Pavlov, The Forest, Aces High, etc
Good replacement for the original sponge foam headset unit.
One thing missing from the instructions… first thing to do – you need to remove the original sponge AND the plastic frame (that’s not mentioned)
Once you realise that, rest is the install is fine and simple. also comes with a panel insert that acts as a lense cover, as well as the wider “glasses fit ” velcro padding.
Comfortable to use, not had it long enough to comment on wear and tear..
I bought this because the normal facepad would start to get disgustingly soaked in sweat during and after VR sessions. It became really bad for my skin, was unhygienic and became really uncomfortable.
This product was a great solution to that!
It felt quite strange initially, especially around the nose area. But after some adjusting and a short amount of play time I got used to it. The nose flap it comes with is brilliant too. It blocks much more light than the normal one, making the experience feel more like a Vive rather than an Oculus (which is a good thing!). Upon taking the headset off, no longer are you greeted with the realisation that a soggy mattress has been sitting upon your face. Instead it is the leather of a slightly warm sofa, swiftly cleanable with a baby or alcohol wipe.
Overall, I’d say that it’s a pretty worthwhile buy especially if you tend to have long, lengthy and sweaty VR sessions like myself. Highly recommended!
Wow this is amazing. The original padding was like an old sponge, with this is feels comfortable, fits better than it ever has before and I don’t have to worry about my hair getting in the way and being forever trapped in the sponge. Spent a long time on it and it’s perfect. Just make sure you push until it clicks and it’s stays properly locked in place.
What can I say? These are brilliant! Wish I got these sooner! They are so much more comfortable then the standard foam which comes on the oculus.
Would highly recommend these. Also amazing that you get more than one as well, so you can switch them out then it gets too worn down.
Bought this to replace my disgusting orignal foam, definitely does a great job at that. One negative I did find is that it cuts off your FOV, quite noticably. To remedy this, I’ve switched to the glasses-supported foampiece, which allows me to either wear my glasses comfortably or enjoy an FOV boost. I tend to lean more towards the latter even with my terrible eyesight.
The PU leather is much more comfortable and premium feeling than the original spongy foam, and I even sweat a lot less with this material, so that’s a plus.
Overall it’s quite easy to recommend this, there aren’t really any negatives subjectively speaking and it will definitely make my Rift last longer before I upgrade.
This is a great replacement for the original face mask for the Oculus rift. The instructions are fairly good, although it took me a little bit longer to figure out the nose piece. As somebody else has commented, it does cover the sensor and switches the Rift on. There is an easy fix for this, just download “Oculus Tray Tool” and you can easily switch it off until needed. It did look like there was some light seeping through at first, but I didn’t notice this in game. I’ve not tried this while playing my favourite Beat Saber clone Moonrider, but I think it will improve game play very much. Seems expensive at first, but with the velcro attachment for the faux leather you can replace it easily.
Fits my CV1 no issue and feels alot comfier. Only complaint is the nose section which I couldn’t get to fit but the standard part is just some foam anyway so it won’t be missed
Much better than the standard foam on the rift. Feels a lot nicer on your face, although it can get a bit sweaty after a work out in beat saber….wipes down easily though
Way more comfortable than the original one that was on my oculus rift, I have to add that I got the rift second hand so I can’t say how comfortable or uncomfortable the original was before hand, but it was well used and very worn.
Now the rift looks like new. I would highly recommend it.
Easy to fit, much better to look at than the original. Holds the headset more firmly in place too.
This does lead to a little fatigue after a few hours though.
This came with a nose guard to block out light which it does a really good job of, also the plastic interface which has velcro for the pads, you just slide the nose guard on and install the interface onto your rift, clicks in just fine. The package comes with two foam pieces, one standard and one with cutouts on the side for glasses. The standard seems to be thicker, and that’s the one I used, didnt try both. The pad sticks on fine, make sure you align the top a little higher as you don’t want it activating the sensor all the time. Really comfy and a whole load better than the original foam on the rift. Mine also came with a lens insert to protect lenses from natural light or accidental scratches, nice bonus but it does activate the sensor and keeps your rift on, great if you unplug each time but I don’t so I won’t be using it.
My original interface broke so I bought this one as a replacement and I actually like it better, the original foam one would get hairs stuck to it all the time so it was annoying and itchy.
I like the tight fit but the nose bit is fiddly to put on as you have to slide it down the holes but once I did that then it felt really snug and fits perfectly.
I purchased this on a whim because my Oculus’s current face plate form was starting to peel off. Far better than I was expecting, the faux leather pads are really comfortable and that fact that you get two is a bonus. One is a standard pad while the other has grooves making it easier for those who where glasses. I thought I would get warm quite quickly wearing it but I actually got warmer wearing the original face plate. To summarise this is a neat piece of kit and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a replacement for the original face plate and hygiene is of a big concern.
If you are using the default Rift interface this is a game changer. Nothing will deter friends from VR quicker then passing them a sweat laden sponge of a headset. This interface is easy to clean and is non absorbent.
The only downside is the nose piece; Its job is to stop the light leak around your nose, and it does its job so well that it also stop you breathing. I tend to mouth-breathe on VR anyway so this isn’t really an issue, but the fact that the nose piece is removable shows how well this product was tested before release.
Worth every penny, stop thinking and buy it.
