I use this battery to run a moth trap in the field and it’s just so light and easy to carry. Runs a LepiLED light for about 6 hours which is more than enough. It’s a total game changer.
The pack is like a brick, it’s weighty, it’s capacity is massive and the ability to charge 3 things at once is a godsend. Shame you have to buy an AC adaptor separately but for a holiday or trip this is brilliant. Anker smashes it yet again.
This is the second purchase of this model, really very good. Old version fully charges my phone 3 times whilst on camping trips. New version has some improvements I’m told, but doesn’t come with the free carry bag that the old version came with sadly.
Just what is this made off?
I have mine now almost 9 years.
And it still works perfectly.
I never had issues with this thing flying. I have dropped it a few times, the case has dents. But still it works perfectly.
Excellent battery life – it is slightly on the heavier side but worth having
I’ve used this several times now to recharge my pixal phone, it will recharge it to 78% twice and 47% once, this is the maximum I have been able to achieve and I would expect it to deterate over time, but it works and is good if this is what you need, it won’t charge back to 100% 4+ times as some reviews say it will.
Very sturdy powerbank from Anker, battery life is amazing can charge my steamdeck about 3-4 times when travelling, and my phone up to around 10 times. The only gripe to the product is the quite heavy so it may put users off if they want to travel light, but I would 100% recommend this powerbank.
I bought this power bank a few months ago, but only recently did I start to use it. Unfortuantely, after charging, it went faulty. I contacted Anker after finding the details on Amazon and used thier online help. I informed the agent, the nature of the fault and how long I had had it, along with the order ref. number. The agent arranged a replacement to be sent out and after a short wait, the item arrived and so far so good.. Very good customer service and despite the intitial fault, the product seems to be working as expected..
I’d bought this as an alternative to much cheaper Chinese versions. It isn’t lighter nor does it have better capacity than my old cheaper product. So I can only hope the internal batteries are better quality and last longer. Double charge feature is neat, but not essential.
Its bigger and heavier than i thought but it does the Job perfectly. I use the power bank to plug into a heated Glllet and its on full all day, so its got plenty of power and it shows you how much power is left/has been used. For a phone id still use anker but maybe a smaller size.
I bought this Anker PowerCore 26800mAh Portable Charger based on Amazon reviews and some camping forums. It lives up to it’s reputation as a good powerbank. As you can see from my photo, it’s not too large given the amount of power it holds. It’s also not as heavy as I thought. I’ll easily pack this in my rucksack when wildcamping in the remote areas of Scotland.
It comes with a flimsy pouch that is neither waterproof or capable of protecting it. It also comes with 2 short USB cables. These are to charge it. So you can charge using one cable, which takes ages to get to full charge, or plug in both cables at once and charge it much faster if you’ve got 2 x USB sockets available.
It is easy to see how fully charged it is via blue lights on the side of the powerbank. I’ve been walking around the house charging my phone as I go because it is easy to carry with my phone all in one hand.
So far, from being fully charged, the powerbank has charged my iPhone X 6 times and still has power left for more charging.
This isn’t cheap, but you get what you pay for. I’d buy it again.
I felt very secure buying this Anker 26,800mAh power bank because it is a well known and respected brand name. I have used cheaper power banks but they didn’t hold their charge after a few recharges. It has proven to be an excellent choice — its reliable and powerful, even after several recharges.
I bought it to simultaneously power 3 devices – an Acer Android tablet, Chromecast and an HDMI audio extractor when mains power is not available. The capacity is amazing. Even with this load the Acer tablet charges from 70% to 100% in under 45 minutes.
The power bank has two charging inputs — and it really is necessary to use both otherwise it takes forever to charge from a single 2 Amp charger. And please note — my standard 2 Amp got dangerously hot and became a serious fire risk. So I bought the Anker 65 Watt dual USB (plus USB-C port) so I could charge at 4 Amps. This charger stays cool and safe and charges the power bank in about 6 hours.
The power bank is very solid and well made, although inevitably bulky and heavy, but that’s the price one pays for this amount of power.
I absolutely love this thing. It’s a behemoth of a power bank and it just does everything perfectly for the purposes I require of it.
The thing about powerbanks is that often you don’t feel like you need one until you actually have one. This model from Anker would be suitable for a number of types of customers, whether they’re travelling or hiking and need a reliable, dependable power source for charging phones, radios and photography equipment, or maybe a regular commuter on trains and planes, or perhaps just want a powerbank for slipping into their bag for a long bus ride or car journey in the back seat that will feature a long Netflix binge that’ll sap your phone’s juice!
A powerbank really is a fantastic thing to own, and this is my favourite one. It’s got huge capacity (it will charge my Sony Xperia XZ Premium 8 times before the bank needs charging itself), 3 separate charging output ports (so it’s ideal for a couple or a family in a range of situations), it charges quite quickly for its size, charging in around 8 hours with dual inputs connected (two charging cables plug into the bank at the same time), and it has some brilliant safety features built in, such as protection against overcharging of devices from the powerbank (so in other words, if your phone only takes 90 minutes to charge but you left it plugged in for 120 minutes without monitoring it, that would still be safe), and protection against overcharging of the powerbank itself (so I can leave my powerbank charging overnight, and it’s ready to go again once I wake up). The powerbank also features ‘adaptable trickle charge’, so it will feed lower levels of current into some devices automatically, such as some fitness bands/watches for example.
Hopefully what I have written so far paints a clearer picture for you as to what owning one of these would be like. A couple of final points to make though… as silly as this may sound, I use mine around the house a lot. It frees you up completely, you don’t have to sit near to where a charging socket is. You can sit anywhere in your living room, in the garden, in bed (and not have a cable stretched across the room). Also, Anker produce a range of models of powerbank, with varying sizes and features. This beast-of-a-powerbank is great, and I think you’d love it, but it may be worth checking out the other sizes that Anker do as well. If you’re a fine lady, you may wish to go for a slim model that can easily be slipped into a handbag, for example.
I genuinely believe most people would feel a real day-to-day benefit to their lives by owning a powerbank of some form. With today’s dependance on devices in mind, it really does give you new freedom and peace-of-mind. Even if you only need a small one for emergency power. I strongly recommend you check one of Anker’s models out, they are the best company I have tried, and their customer service is exactly what everyone would would customer service to be.
Thanks for reading 🙂
So far working perfectly as i would exspect from Anker as i buy alot from the company for its reputation for providing quality and reliable accessories , power banks etc. Had only 1 slight concern, i brought this power bank after losing my previous Anker one. This one is far more powerful and works perfectly, my concern was one or two of the negative reviews on amazon? Regarding failing etc or 1 min working and not the next. However i have used this for a while and as of yet all working great. And like my previous one never any trouble. charged it back up from flat 3 times and still works perfectly. Every port charges all my devices as exspected, and i know Anker has a great reputation with customer support. So i would recommend this battery pack for any gadget bag and explorer. I just hope eventually Anker will bring out some of there american power core blocks for tenting and caravaning, but untill then ill have to be jealous of the americans again haha but seriously great piece of kit. And can now charge my 10inch tablet and note 9 and my bludtooth headset or my other tethering device. Also works on my portable monitor, broadband if power goes down. All you need is to buy a usb to dc adapter for around 10-15 on amazon, which you can pick from 9v-12v making this power bank a must have.
The good:
– Capacity is amazing, tablet, mobile and headphones all charging at once, charged them all with over half the charge remaining. A real beast of of power bank
– Physical size is as expected for its capacity
– Usual Anker quality build
– Sleeve is nice and perfect to hold it and it’s 2 cables
– Can be charged with 2 cables at once which is good as this can take a while to fill back up
The bad:
– You need to make sure the USB cables are pushed in all the way. I’m usually a fan of tight connections as opposed to loose connections. However, these are a bit tighter then I would like, they require that extra shove to make sure they are fully in. On more than one occasion my iPad has not been charging properly due to this
– When the device it is charging reaches near full charge the power bank seems to go to sleep. Pressing the button on the side “wakes” it up again and it carries on for a bit longer
Overall – Recommended. There may be something wrong with my unit but even with these it is still an excellent charger.
First let me say that this is the best portable charger I have ever used but it comes with a number of caveats. Let’s start with the good.
Pros:
1. Battery is huge and it charges devices quickly without draining too much of the battery. I can charge my iPad Pro twice as well as my phone and my headphones and still have some juice left over.
2. It is reasonably portable – for long trips on planes or cars you can chuck it in your backpack and it will last you the whole trip – it is fantastic in this way.
These are, in my opinion, the most important aspects of this device, and functionally it works perfectly – but buyers need to know somethings about it before deciding to go with this model.
Cons:
1) It is very large and very heavy. This noticeably weighs down my backpack and is not a device that you will be carrying around in your pocket or a smaller bag (such as a handbag). Anker does, however make smaller options so I would advice you to look at those if you are planning to carry the charger on your person at all times – I, myself, have a smaller battery back (10000 mah) which comfortably fits in the inside pocket of my coat for on-person charging.
2) It takes an age to charge. This is an unfortunate side effect of the battery size and the fact that it uses micro-usb to charge. In order to charge fully it requires an overnight charge with two Micro-USB cables plugged in. I would have much preferred if they had included a USB-C port to allow for charging of the device and of USB-C devices (such as the iPad Pro with its USB-C to USB-C cable) as well as faster charging for the battery pack.
So, if you are looking for a battery pack which is lighter and fits in a pocket or a small bag – this may not be for you but there are plenty of fantastic alternatives from Anker and other suppliers. If you are looking for something which can charge a laptop, an iPad and a phone all in one, that you want for travelling or that you don’t mind lugging around – you cannot do better than this.
I bought this powerbank because I trust the brand as I own just one bluetooth wireless headphones from Anker adn have never experienced any issues. When the opportunity came to buy a powerbank in the black Friday sale, I chose to buy this fast charging one…and omg…I was blown away! It’s worth every penny. Those days are gone where you patiently check your phone every 5 mins and only see that it goes up by 1% . This is worth its weight in gold. I use it regularly and feel safe leaving home knowing that my phone/kindle/bluetooth headphones will all be ok.This powerbank has come with me to 4 destinations, although heavy in weight its truly worth it. It was oddly satisfying to know my partners cheaper powerbank couldn’t keep up- As they say, buy cheap pay twice. You can leave it uncharged for up to two weeks with regular use, which is good because you never have to remember to charge it, but bad if you’re thinking you’re carrying additional weight for nothing. I wish was there was an in between! Other powerbanks tended to charge my bluetooth wireless headphones initially then after leaving it in your bag the other powerbank goes into standby and stops charge, with all 3 different powerbanks- No problems with Anker! Buy and trust Anker always! Don’t waste your time and energy with all the cheaper versions no matter how enticing the price drop is, you’ll be the one who is left with a sub standard product long after the excitement of the price drop wears off. You’ll be the one asking for replacements 6 months down the line. They just don’t last as long! if its not the cable, it’s the bank..I would know, I had 3.
I bought this battery after owning a small lipstick size one and a 10.000 mAh one from Anker.
I already knew they would last a long time and as it was on offer I took the plunge for those weekends that I might be camping with friends and we all needed several phone charges (it has three USB out plugs which is a true bonus as we often have two iPhones and an iPad or GoPro camera to recharge overnight)
The main feature I would recommend this battery for is the speed at which it is recharged thanks to the dual charging input. I am truly impressed, it charges twice as fast as my old 10.000mAh one… and that makes al the difference as I was often deterred from taking it with me as my old one was still charging most of the times even after having plugged in overnight. I suspect the battery to charge much more slowly when not using a fast dual imputes charging brick like the one I have… so maybe not ideal for recharging on the go with a basic iPhone charger or the 12V in the car…
It is otherwise a relatively large item which I would not necessarily take with me every day, but which given the amount of charges it contains can save a travelling couple quite a bit of issues with recharging devices on the go.
Would absolutely recommend as a long-lasting filming/camping/travelling backup battery. It is sturdy (made of metal) and easy to use.
If I were to find a minor gripe in it is that, given its large capacity, I would have provided it with more than 4 LEDs as it is not granular enough a meter to understand whether it is closer to 75% or to 50% and this can lead to more frequent recharging out of fear of the juice running out.
It’s a nice piece of kit and I’ve decided to keep it but I haven’t yet managed to get it to full capacity via an Anker power adaptor I already had for their Bluetooth speaker. It is a huge capacity and I presume the reason it takes so long to replenish. Be prepared for many hours wait to recharge from flat or close to flat. It does however work quickly to recharge even three devices plugged in at the same time. I could not manage to recharge it at all just using a USB source instead of the mains adaptor. In hindsight I would have chosen a portable charger with a lower capacity and the ability to be charged much quicker from a mains source.
UPDATE: Anker have been very quick to discuss these issues with me and I am very positive about their help. They provided me with a dual port charger which I have tested and found that the PowerCore does recharge in around six hours from flat. This is acceptable to me given that the capacity of this portable charger is huge. Just using any old USB charger – I tried a couple – did not result in a quick recharge so I recommend this device – Anker USB Charger 4.8A/24W 2-Port USB Wall Charger and PowerIQ Technology. There is an extra cost of course and it is up to the customer to decide. I recommend to Anker that this be included in their kit in the future. Trickle charging from a PC or laptop using the USB cord/s provided is unlikely to recharge the PowerCore sufficiently or in sufficient time. I have revised my star rating to four because I believe Anker have helped to resolve the issue for me.
Anker USB Charger 4.8A/24W 2-Port USB Wall Charger and PowerIQ Technology for iPhone 8 / iPhone 8 Plus / iPhone X / iPhone 7 / 6 / 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 / mini 3, Samsung Galaxy, Nexus, HTC M9, Motorola, LG and More
Do not over-specify your needs, though, as like me, if you are greedy for capacity you may still have a long recharge wait! Buy a smaller capacity if it meets your portable needs.
This thing is a beast, it just keeps going and going! I have four other Anker portable chargers which are all smaller than this and all work great, but for Glastonbury Festival I wanted to make sure I had enough power to charge my iPhone 7+, my wife’s iPhone 7 and my Sony RX100M4 camera so I bought this extra capacity battery pack too.
It takes a while to charge, but unlike some of my other Anker battery packs this has dual input charging so you can take advantage of double speed charging which is handy. Once fully charged this has more than enough capacity to charge your iPhone 7+ around six times, maybe more. I’ve never used it to exclusively charge one device only, but I know that it packs enough charge to keep my iPhone 7+, my wife’s iPhone 7, my Sony RX100M4 and two Garmin Fenix 5 watches topped up for a week away which is very impressive.
There’s no getting around the fact that to hold this much charge it has to be big and heavy, that’s just the nature of the current battery technology. I keep a smaller 10,000 mah pack in my wife’s handbag for emergencies on a long trip.
If you are only going to be away from power for a day or two you might want to consider the smaller, lighter models on offer but if you’re away in the wild for several days and need to charge your phone, ipad, Sony cameras (and any other USB charging cameras) then this is the model to get.
For completeness this works perfectly with the following devices, all tried and tested by me
iPhones (all models)
iPads (all models including my 12″ iPad Pro)
Sony RX100 (all models)
Sony A6xxx (all models)
Garmin Fenix (all models)
I forgot to mention, it also charges things super fast, if I need to quickly top up my iPhone battery before heading out I’ll often use this because it seems to charge my iPhone faster than some older iPhone wall chargers, faster than charging off a laptop or computer USB socket and faster than my car cigarette charger too.
I purchased this and it arrived well protected without any problems. The product was in the typical recyclable anker box, which included: the powercore 26800 charger, an anker micro USB cable, the anker 18 month warranty and a happiness guide.
As always with anker, this is a great quality product, the charging is quick and it holds a lot of charge. There are 3 usb ports which can be used individually or all at once. The dual input charging halves the charging speed of the charger which in some cases can be helpful, however i rarely need to quickly charge my power bank so i do not need to use it as much (it can get warm when dual charging is being used)
Naturally, the quality of this battery pack does not feel as good as the powercore 26800+, which is the premium version offered by anker. The premium version does not offer dual input charging however it has qc quick charge capabilities and feels more sturdy, despite being more expensive this may be a product to consider.
Overall this is a great charger, in my opinion is it definitely worth it to pay a slightly larger price for an anker charger rather than others offered by the competition. The customer service for anker is fantastic and you will always be given a pleasing response.

This monster of a power bank charges most devices at their rated maximum power, or thereabouts. For instance, I charged an IPad Pro 12.9 from about 50% to 100% at 5.03v and 2.23 A. This took ~ 2.5 hrs; power delivered, 6180 mAh. I then charged an IPad Mini (4) at 5.03v and a steady 2.0 A from 44% to 100% for about 1.5 hrs for a total of 3750 mAh of power delivered (measured by a USB power metre). Afterwards, I charged a Samsung Galaxy s6 edge from 0-100% @ 5.07v and 1.73 A and a total power of 2100mAh delivered. I then charged a Samsung Galaxy Note Edge @ 5.07v and 1.73A from 1-100% for about 2.5 hrs with 2600mAh delivered. At this point, the power bank showed approximately 25% of power remaining by 1 LED lighting up when the power button was briefly pressed. This roughly meant that about 14680 mAh worth of power had been delivered to my devices. I charged last device, a Sony Xperia Z Ultra from 20% – 66% at 4.85 v and approximately 1. 24 A with 2000mAh of power delivered. The power bank was fully exhausted and would not turn on. I had previously charged it to about 80% before I started charging my devices yesterday (28-12-16). This represents a total of about 16600mAh delivered to my devices. From various tests that have conducted over several weeks, I estimate this power bank to have a usable capacity of about 18600 mAh. (This is normal as you can never get 100% usable power as about 30-40% gets wasted in inefficiencies and wasted energy in the form of heat)Charging it with a Choetec 50w 6 USB port charger fills it up in about 8hrs using both input ports. If only one is used, it takes about 13 hrs to fully charge it. I use it to charge my two Samsung cameras, a Galaxy NX and an NX1.
If you find this review helpful, do please give it a thumbs up.
